I am trying convert number value in date. I know somewhere I doing mistake. But I cant get it.
Here is my Partial Code
create or replace PROCEDURE "REPORT_ARTICLEMOSTVIEWED2" (
[Code]....
Error starting at line 5 in command: EXEC REPORT_ARTICLEMOSTVIEWED2(null,null,null,null,:RC) Error report: ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected ORA-06512: at "IIS_ORACLE_11GR2_LIVE.REPORT_ARTICLEMOSTVIEWED2", line 22 ORA-06512: at line 1 01858. 00000 - "a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected" *Cause: The input data to be converted using a date format model was incorrect. How do I put condition for Null value in this procedure And set dateTo = sysdate if v_day,v_month,v_year are null.
i'm executing a load test using the below statement:
INSERT INTO BPMBI.PPROCINSTANCE SELECT * FROM BPMBI.PPROCINSTANCE_BKP WHERE ROWNUM < 501; COMMIT; EXIT;
I've been using the same for a few days without any error while now wehn i try to use the same i get below error:
SQL> insert into pprocinstance select * from pprocinstance_bkp where rownum <= 500; insert into pprocinstance select * from pprocinstance_bkp where rownum <= 500 * ERROR at line 1: ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected.
I've been trying to check what the issue is and when i execute the rownum < 140 works fine while rownum < 150 is showing the same error.
i am sure it may be wrong because it doesn't mention year however i have been told to get a list of all students who enrolled in MAY. and i have tried doing
select * from table where enrolDate > to_date('01-05','DD-MM') and enrolDate < to_date('31-05','DD-MM') and it doesnt work (says no rows selected when in fact there are some rows!
i can do it fine when using YEAR ie '01-05-2000','DD-MM-YYYY' another problem.
I am trying to do this:
Select to_char(to_date(01012008,DD-MM- YYYY),DAY) from dual;
and it is giving me the error however if i do this:
Select to_char(to_date(16012008,DD-MM-YYYY),DAY) from dual;
The problem is, while installing the Oracle Form and Report 11G R2, my installation got stuck on step 15, i.e configuration progress. Waited for 3hrs and still no progress.
Installing on Win 7 64-Bit, with 4gb ram. Installed Weblogic Server 10.3.5 64bit(using JDK).
I would like to mention that I won't be able to give the data,specific information(like query or table names) about the issue as this concerns the privacy of some multinational company(where I work).
We have windows server and we are currently using Oracle 10g.
Issue-
We have a ProC, which has a SQL statement where it is trying to OPEN a cursor. The cursor query is huge and fetches data from 3 tables. 3 tables have 5k, 600k and 1.7 millions records respectively but the 'where' condition in cursor query makes the total count to 3k lines only.
Now the problem is , we have a schedule reboot of the server every Saturday night and the next day(Sunday night) when the program runs it gets stuck in the query --> OPEN <cursor> . We wait for 5 hours but this OPEN cursor query never executes or completes, that means our program gets stuck here.Eventually we have to kill the program.We have tried running it after killing as well but it again gets stuck.
Now the interesting part. On Monday business happens as usual but in the night when we again run this program it runs within minutes. The records in the tables are more or less same. Open cursor does not get stuck at all. It runs every night properly but every Sunday night it gets stuck. note that the program does not run on Saturday nights. So on Sunday night it runs for the first time after server reboot.
So there is something with Open cursor statement(with so much data) after server reboot. What exactly Open cursor does in memory or database.
I already have 9i installed at my desktop.I tried to install oracle 10g version 1. But it got struck with "oracle database configurations assistant" on configuration assistants window.Then I did the below.
1) I clicked stop, but still didn't get stop. 2) And also the window didn't enable the 'Retro' button
I have One .FMB Screen and in this Screen One Table , I Compile and attach in ERP System but when I tried to open thst screen is not open and also application is stucking.
My workflow stuck in Active status and user is not able to proceed further. But it is not happening every time. Sometimes the process activity gets stuck.
I am in process of installing Oracle 11g R2 Grid Infrastructure on 2-node virtual RAC. All went very well until the Grid Installation stuck on 65%. It is saying copying file on remote node ('Copying Oracle Home '/u01/app/11.2.0/grid' to remote nodes 'cxm-vl-rman02'). From the logs it is difficult to figure out where the bottlenecks lies.
I am working on Workflow and the issue is When a person leaves for vacation he can set his vacation rules so that someone has to attend / approve his workflow notifications. But when we set vocation rules all notification goes into errors state and this error can resolve by refreshing/Retry this notification. And the error detail is mentioned below An Error occurred in the following Workflow.
Item Type = CONCSPL Item Key = 086937-15990 User Key =
Error Name = 100 Error Message = ORA-01403: no data found ORA-01403: no data found Error Stack = Wf_Engine_Util.Function_Call(cust_f_test.f_find_approver, CONCSPL, 086937-15990, 180198, RUN)
[code]....
Bottom line is all notifition should be successfully process and send to dedicated person.
i have a query where i am using the max function to find the most recent record. What i want to do is use that query as part of an insert statement into a different table, however, i don't want to insert the column that i used the max function on. Is there anyway to use the max function without having the column it is being used on showing in the results?
I am creating an stored function which has to do some inserts in the meanwhile, and return after all the work has done, an UDT (2 or 3 columns of NUMBER datatype).
With this scenario I have an problem. The DML operations are not supported by and "SELECT * FROM Table(MyProc(args))". I have to use this "SELECT * FROM Table(MyProc(args))" because I need to pass the stored function results directly to an dataset.
Using a Stored Procedure it gives no errors, but the arguments must be passed like OUT params, and it is not what I want.
My question is: Is there any other way to get a result (UDT) of an Stored Function (that makes Inserts) into a DataSet?
I've been tasked to parse tags from a string that look like the following:
{Date + XXX}
where XXX represents a numeric value. I have to replace this, including the brace characters with
SYSDATE + XXX
which will ultimately calculate SYSDATE plus the number of days suggested by XXX. The problem is that I am trying to use regexp_replace to achieve this goal but since XXX is completely arbitrary, I cannot search for it as a fixed value. So, ultimately, I would like to use a regular expression that ignores the numeric part of my search and only replaces the starting brace, the "Date + " part and the ending brace, leaving the numeric portion intact. I was trying to do something like the following
I'm posting below test case in which I'm not able to understand output for LAST_VALUE function. I'm expecting maximum value for the salary in a department. Because I'm partitioning by department and ordering a partition as assending so being last value it should give me maximum value within a partition i.e. department in this case.
There is an 'emp' table with a column name as 'mgr' with datatype 'number'. following is the detailed description of the table:
SQL> desc emp;
Name Null? Type ----------------------------------------- -------- --------------------------- EMPNO NOT NULL NUMBER(4) ENAME VARCHAR2(10) JOB VARCHAR2(9) MGR NUMBER(4) HIREDATE DATE SAL NUMBER(7,2) COMM NUMBER(7,2) DEPTNO NUMBER(2)
Now when I run the 'select mgr from emp e;' query the output which I get is:
7902 7698 7698 7839 7698 7839 7839 7566
7698 7788 7698 7566 7782
Note: One value in between here is null, the required to me is that I want to print a character value 'President' in place of null .
I have two tables where I have to find the record for Max value of the column sap_pkid for every sap_id as in given table create script. This script is giving correct value but looking for a better way so that when data increses it doesn't hit the performance.
way where max can be avoided or a more tuned query .
I am creating a function to sum five numbers (less 1). Is it possible to have an array of numbers in an SQL function, and how would this be implemented?
Here is the screenshot of my output (I cannot embed links until 5 posts!): flic.kr/p/eaSHBP
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION sumfivenumbers ( n1 NUMBER, n2 NUMBER, n3 NUMBER, n4 NUMBER, n5 NUMBER) RETURN NUMBER IS Sumnums NUMBER; BEGIN SELECT SUM(n1+n2+n3+n4+n5-1) INTO Sumnums FROM DUAL; DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(Sumnums); RETURN 1; END sumfivenumbers; / SELECT sumfivenumbers(5,5,5,5,5) AS "Five Numbers less 1" FROM DUAL;
I am trying to create a function that when called will add the salary and commission a certain way to return an employee's annual salary.Here's my code
create or replace function Get_Annual_Comp (Sal in number, Commission in number) return number as [code]...
When I run the query, I get the proper rows return; however, my function does no calculation. If I input random numbers, I get the proper value returned. What I want is for my function to return the salary and commission of the employee specified in my select's where clause to be calculated as an annual salary.
