I want to Validate all Objects in a schema which are Invalid, after some initial investigation I found a package UTL_RECOMP,If any remote Object is changed, then the local dependent object is not Invalidated at that moment, so will this Package UTL_RECOMP recompile that local object as well.

Script is also dropping and creating table and index before actual processing starts.
Is that error coming because MVs are refreshing and they are not ready for use or some thing happened between actual processing and dropping/creating the table?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the below Table Structure, TB_Vehicles is the Master table and TB_Cars, TB_Bikes, TB_Cars are Satellite tables which hold more info about respective vehicles.
I want users to search using the Name. So, when users enter Name as 'Access', my query should give all information about that vehicle, including that from Satellite Tables (using both TB_Vehicles and TB_Scooters).

Similarly, if user enters 'Linea', it should give info from TB_Vehicles and TB_Cars tables.
So, with V_NAME as input, I'll find V_TYPE from TB_Vehicles table, and using that, I need to identify which satellite table, I need to join to retrieve more info.
Do I need to use CASE or DECODE to achieve this?
While practicing with Triggers, the following error was encountered. An Object Type and an object Table are created.

1) Trigger of version 1 did not report any error during compilation, but during DML execution, hangs for sometime and gives the above error.
2) Whether direct assignment of Objects of greater size is possible inside triggers built on object Tables?
3) Suppose an object contain multiple attributes (say more than 20), then how to assign them inside a trigger?
I have a problem with executing oracleCommand.ExecuteReader() method. Whatever I try it always returns null and it won't create OracleData reader object. I'm using ODAC 1120320_x64 for .net 4.0 and timesten112241.win64. Don't sure what to do. Debugger is showing strange thing in OracleConnection object : ConnectionState = Closed, but output of ttStatus shows connection to TimesTen data store and ExecuteNonQuery() command works just fine with or without (in or out) parameters. But when I try to execute some query with multile output such as select *, I can't get any result.
I also have a strange problem with connection.Open() When I execute Open() i throws AccessViolationException that can be handled with [Handle ProcessCorruptedStateExceptions] attribute, but connection is established after that and my application works fine until I try to instance OracleDataReader object.

I am trying to create and update query to use as a trigger for updating information in a database which is dependent upon time.
I have a severity level which needs to be decreased in value after a set amount of time. the time of the action is recorded automatically on the creation of the the record. after an hour anything at severity level 2 needs to go up to 1, after 2 hours level 3 goes up to 2 and 3 hours level 4 goes up to 3
so far this is what I have

In this way i am able to access the variable inside typeObj3. But problem is i am getting error "ORA-01427 single-row subquery returns more than one row" when i pass more that one typeObj2.

I have a tab named APPROPRIATIONS it has 10 fields. Among which is PROJECT NUMBER, AUTHORIZAION DATE (CALENDER TYPE POPUP), And FUNDS CHECK FLAG.
The Scenario is depending upon PROJECT NUMBER the Fields are Populated including FUNDS CHECK FLAG .
But the AUTHORIZAION DATE is a MANDATORY field has to be filled by User
The Requirement is to make AUTHORIZAION DATE as MANDATORY only when the FUNDS CHECK FLAG is *"BLANK "* or *“Y”*
If the FUNDS CHECK FLAG is *“N”* then the AUTHORIZAION DATE to be made OPTIONAL.
Any way in sql to get the data from my local machine, where only client is installed, not the database.

I am trying to write a function that accepts LOCAL DATE, LOCAL TIME, LOCAL TIME ZONE, COUNTRY CODE as inputs, and UTC DATE, UTC TIME as outputs. LOCAL DATE, LOCAL TIME, LOCAL TIME ZONE has to be of DATETIME datatype, and COUNTRY_CODE of VARCHAR2(3).
The data's are store in UTC time for all the country. we have to convert this to local country time. I build the procedure will generate the statement as per the country. But some of the timezone is working. like first example is working,second example is not working. I am getting following error.

if i have local index, does query which uses this index always have to scan all partitions?
For example, I have hash-partitioned table on column A. There is local index on column B. I am querying:
select * from my_table where A='ABC' and B>123.
I know that records with A='ABC' are in 2nd partition. Does only 2nd partition of local index will be scanned or all of them must be scanned?
i have faced one problem with reports. i had created 4 reports. recently we are designed new application using oracle forms6i. we are created more than 10 forms and added to application they were working fine. but when i was added these reports they are not generated. but in server report are running. i mean the report genereted in server but not in local system.

For some reason I am having issues inserting the HTML code into the local variable for process. I am not getting an error but instead the insert is not including the value in the variable when code when it runs. Do I need to enclose anything around the HTML to make this work?

I have an Oracle database on a server, and I connect from another machine with SQL Developer.I want to read a text file on my local machine ( where I run my script) to use the data in the script.I never want to read or write on the server.
Reading on internet i read about UTF_FILE package But what is not clear to me is, this is on the server or client ?Also some people says UTF_FILE can work both on client side and server side.Also I read about package text_io, but I think it is only for forms.
Is it possible to create local temp variable based table within sql procedures, i am planning on writing few select queies,and want to store teh result of each select to a temp variable based table.
Within sql serevr, i can create temp tables within and then later after i use teh data at teh end drop the table.
Is it possible, since i don't want to create any physical tables.

Oracle service for DB instance will be started running when the system boots automatically.I faced this problem before, I was instructed to boot my system without network connection. It worked for few days. Suddenly I cant able to connect to my local DB instance again, even though I am booting my system without network connection.

For partitioned tables (RANGE, LIST types ) what are circumstances when a Global or a Local Index become UNUSABLE ? I was told that in some circumstances where the Indexes become UNUSABLE , not even a SELECT query against the table will work. Is this true ? 2day i was dropping few unwanted index from the data base, By mistake i removed the local partitioned index , So i want to recreate that index.i create the index, will the partitioned index updates when we add partitioned to the tables.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have table with 4 partition by range partition. I am loading the table in bulk mode to latest partition. Before I load , I dropped the index and after Load I will be creating index. So when I am dropping index, it is dropping index from all the partitions and when creating the index, I am creating the index for all partitions. When I am creating index using local, it is telling you have to create local index for all partitions at the same time. because of that I have to drop and recreate all indexes again. Again I have to gather stats for whole table .
I was thinking we can build index for one partition and index should remain as is for old partitions If this is not the case, how do I plan my load for a partitioned table using bulk mode to latest partition.
i am working on Database 11g. I Need to download file to local after the file is created in the database directory using UTL_FILE . i am able to generate the file but not aware how to copy or download the file to local using PL/SQL . i have done the same in forms using webutil pll.
