Once the user clicks the button a call is made to a procedure in a package.This procedure acesses a couple more procedures and functions, inorder to import data from one table to another. If the procedure takes more than 5 minutes to complete, the user receives an error message.This is actually the error message the user should get if he tries to do an import while another user’s import is running. Is it possible that if the called procedure doesn’t return in under 5 minutes the page is reloaded and the procedure called again resulting in the above error message.

The Oracle machine A (11R1) is placed in San Jose.
The Oracle machine B (10R2) is placed in Sydney.
I need to develop a daily replica from A to B. I don't need the entire db, but only some single schema.
The entire DB size is 1TB.The exp pump gzipped dump size will be 5+GB.Tnsping from A to B takes 500+ ms.The regular A exp pump -> ftp -> B imp pump will be too slowly because of the poor network.Which way it would be the best to implement it?

View 10 Replies View RelatedWe have installed Oracle 10G in windows 2003 server. Oracle is working fine when oracle services are running in local system account, when we change the option �Log On As� from local system account to an domain id the oracle listener stops automatically.
I tried the below mentioned options, We created a new listener it did not worked . we are able to connect the db through command prompt but not through SQL plus or TOADWhen we add the domain id to the local administrator group the oracle is working fine. But we cannot have the domain id in local administrator group since GPO will automatically remove the domain id from local administrator group.
After compiling in few minutes My Oracle Forms 6i Form is exiting automatically ... How to solve this problem.

1- Master
a-Master group
2- Materialized view site
a- Materialized view group (Asynchronous)
b- Materialized view with refresh occur automatically on future date every 5 minutes
c- refresh type FORCE.
My Oracle jobs are not running. I can run them manually but they don't start automatically as per interval. The job_queue_processes=100 and CJQ process is not running. I started CJQ0 process by resetting it to 0 and then to 100. But as soon as I enabled a job this background process stopped.
The job also did not execute in its next execution time. I have created the database manually without using DBCA. Is the problem because of this? I have set crontab immediately to get rid of it.

I'm working on my test db and what I thought to be an easy task is turning out to be very difficult. I am trying to set up a cron job to email me daily the alert log to check for errors. I tested the script and it is not working this is what I have to email me the alert log

There are 2 databases, database A and database B. Database A is Oracle 11.2.0.2 which runs on linux and Database B is Oracle 11.2.0.2 which runs on windows xp machine. In database A, there are 100's of tables which are being updated every 10 minutes or 15 minutes. For reporting purpose, the developer wants to run report for the tables. But since database A is being updated every now and then, generating reports takes almost 15 to 20 minutes. So the reports can be generated in Database B. Once in a day the database B should have the updated data from database A so that the reports can be generated in database B with less time. What could be the best solution for the database B to have the updated data on daily basis from database A in oracle?

Backup file should be save in pre-defined location then user will use a form which I developed for loading data into head office there are two different buttons in this form;
First is used to load data, actually first I load data in a temporary user which creates whenever user will press this button. Second is used to copy data in application user but first it checks if data exists then update otherwise insert.

This query returns the agent's login and the agent's last logout time. It works fine if I enter a date between but I cannot do that. If a use this query as it is and I try to export a report for 31/5 it shows as lastlogout the logout for 01/06 or 2/06. Is there a function I can use? I have a deadline.
