Replication :: Oracle 9i - Does Not Push Transactions Automatically
Jun 7, 2002
I have problem with my Replication using oracle 9i.It does not push transactions automatically when refresh time comes but it works fine when pushed manually.I have two sites:
1- Master
a-Master group
2- Materialized view site
a- Materialized view group (Asynchronous)
b- Materialized view with refresh occur automatically on future date every 5 minutes
c- refresh type FORCE.
I have a multimaster advance replication environment and we have less than 10 transaction per day...I want to propagate data as soon as possible like sync if I setup the schedule push to propagate transaction every 5 seconds as below
in other hand ,book(I mean Advance Replication) has written that for simulating continuous push we should setup it as below so it will propagate transaction every 1 minute.
My second question is:I know interval >= 'SYSDATE + (1/144)' means every 10 minutes a job will start and delay_seconds => 1200 means each job remain aware for 20 minutes, but I can't understand the logic?why it can simulate 1 minute propagation?
declare v_amount NUMBER; v_paymentno INTEGER := &sv_paymentno; v_playerno INTEGER; v_payment_date DATE:= SYSDATE; begin select 500 into v_amount from dual; select 44 into v_playerno from dual; insert into penalties values (v_paymentno, v_playerno, v_payment_date, v_amount); end;
I forgot to add the commit statement and now I have hung transaction with dirty data with v_paymentno 27. Is there a way to commit or rollback that transaction?
Actually am trying to replicate two db servers from one in hong kong and another in china. when am trying to establish the replication, am getting error 'ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object' like this...
but the same way i have tried in my local network, it is working fine.i have tried schema replication through enterprise manager grid control..
I want to configured A Synchronous replication in oracle 8i. Noe using GUI i am bale to create replication but whatever i modify it remain in the transaction i have to manually run the job ,
I also tried to configured continuous asynchronous configuration by setting delay rate 500000. but it was also not working.
Is it possible to replicate table data on real time from sql server (2005 32 bit or sql server 2000 32 bit)to oracle 10g running on linux 64 bit? If yes then what are the steps.
It will be one way replication from sql server to oracle. Which option is best sql server dts or Oracle Stream replication to replicate table data.
I have a data block in which I am displaying 15 records at a time. The query for the block is complex with 3 tables and multiple joins. There is no primary key associated with each record, but I'm storing rowid in a hidden field. I have a push button in each row/ record. When user double clicks on it, I want to get the rowid in the record and pass it to pl/sql.
Also there is one column in table which is stored as char (ex, Y/N) but when I display in the table it should be Yes/ No. How to achieve this?
I want to move data between two instances and recommended we create a local database link to PULL data from remote database located here (supplier on site) but they want to PUSH data to us. I thought you could only PULL data over a database link but then read the link [URL] where PUSH is considered ? I was going to use standard creatas like create table A as select * from table A@<remote_db_link> which works well and fast ( tried and tested) but some are saying they think PUSH quicker/better ?
we do have data "PUSH" already but this does not use a db link - effectively it calls a local proceedure here and passes a row of data and is slow ie for a 1000 row table to be pushed to us we have our local proceedure called 1000 times.
I have always suggested a PULL with db_link as the fastest method - any proof OR info on a fast PUSH method ( that is quicker than PULL ) ? can you REALLY push ?
i want to run the salary posting procedure automatically at mid night every day. i have created a job in toad and defined the required information but it is not working.
We have installed Oracle 10G in windows 2003 server. Oracle is working fine when oracle services are running in local system account, when we change the option Log On As from local system account to an domain id the oracle listener stops automatically.
I tried the below mentioned options, We created a new listener it did not worked . we are able to connect the db through command prompt but not through SQL plus or TOADWhen we add the domain id to the local administrator group the oracle is working fine. But we cannot have the domain id in local administrator group since GPO will automatically remove the domain id from local administrator group.
My Oracle jobs are not running. I can run them manually but they don't start automatically as per interval. The job_queue_processes=100 and CJQ process is not running. I started CJQ0 process by resetting it to 0 and then to 100. But as soon as I enabled a job this background process stopped.
The job also did not execute in its next execution time. I have created the database manually without using DBCA. Is the problem because of this? I have set crontab immediately to get rid of it.
I have two control block i.e. class_register and student_info. In which student_info is multi-record block which contains stud_id, stud_name, stud_roll_no. Based on the class_register block, stud_id and stud_name is generated in the student_info table. Now I want to generate stud_roll_no automatically until the last record is present.
When I am trying to enter to the enterprise manager of oracle 11g, but it is not working. In my services list the 'oracledbconsoleorcl' is assigned as automatically to start with windows. But it is not starting. When I tried to start it manually the following message is displayed repeatedly even after restarting the pc.
'Windows could not start the oracledbconsoleorcl on Local computer. For more information, view the system event log. If this is a non-Microsoft services, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 2.' In the event log the following error messages are displayed:The OracleDBConsoleorcl service terminated with service-specific error 2 (0x2). and
The OracleCSService service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
i have a ref cursor and i have used 'open cursor for' statement:
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE aepuser.pkg_test AS TYPE cur1 IS REF CURSOR; PROCEDURE get_empdetails (p_empno NUMBER, io_cur OUT cur1); END;
[code]...
then i want to know that- will oracle automatically deallocate the memory occupied by records in cursor area?if yes, then when it will be free , in case of 'open cursor for' ?
i need to set up a central server with all the master tables and two other local database which will hold the updatable materialized view of the master table...the databases must be synchronized with central server..and user will work on the materialized view database...
I want to set up advance replication for 3 master site (multimaster) I created 3 master site named orc1,orc2,orc3 and followed up oracle replication management of API book instruction I created 2 tables(tes1,test2) in hr schema in all 3 master site with the same data. then I created the following steps
1-CONNECT repadmin/repadmin@orc1
2-Create the master group named hr_test_repg
BEGIN DBMS_REPCAT.CREATE_MASTER_REPGROUP( gname => 'hr_test_repg'); END; /
4-add tables test1 and test2 to the group
BEGIN DBMS_REPCAT.CREATE_MASTER_REPOBJECT( gname => 'hr_test_repg', type => 'TABLE', oname => 'test1',
[code]....
I could create DBMS_REPCAT.GENERATE_REPLICATION_SUPPORT for test2 but not for test1 and it produces error
