SQL & PL/SQL :: Print Update Confirmation?

I'm trying to create an output statement that will show that the update was successful, but everything that I'm trying doesn't seem to be working.
I have a procedure and an anonymous block that calls on the procedure.
So far after the begin in my anonymous block I have.
BEGIN
procedure_name(variable1, variable2);
dbms_output.put_line('Successfully Updated');
END;
Now I know that the procedure and the anonymous block without the dbms output works as the update takes place in the table, but I can't get any text string output to confirm this.

I have a set of sql statements which i have to execute inside a pl/sql block. But i need to know the response of each statement and confirmation whether it is executed successfully.
Practically i need to get info as such in sqlplus status msg for each sql statement
E.g. :
SQL> insert into test values(1);
1 row created.
or similar to this.

I've created a small script witch delete the obsolete and expired backups of RMAN.
The problem is: the "delete obsolete" and the "delete expired backup" command needs a confirmation with YES. I don't need to confirm the command and he deletes the backups directly?
Here is my little script:

I have a base table (Table A) block with multiple records displayed. I need to track audits to this underlying table in the following way:
If user updates a field in the block I want the pre-changed record's audit fields to be set and I need to create a copy of the record with the changed values. Basically any changes will result in the record being logically deleted, and a copy record created with the newly changed values.
Tried to implement in the block's pre-update trigger which will call a package to directly update Table A then Insert into Table A, then requery the block. Is there a clean and efficient way to do this?

I am getting an error while printing a sql query which is in a string inside a stored proc. I used

and error "I get ORU-10028: line length overflow, limit of 255 bytes per line"

This is my query:

The problem I am having is that it is updating all rows even when it is pulling back a null value for b.sak_request. I've tried adding b.sak_request is not null to the select statement like this:
UPDATE t_tt_hours a
SET a.sak_request = (
SELECT b.sak_request
FROM t_requests b, co c
WHERE b.nam_eds_tracking_id = c.id_dir_track_eds
[Code]...
but it doesn't seem to make a difference. The reason I need to do this is that the difference between where it matches with a valid (non-null) value is 396 rows vs. 12,484 rows which is too time consuming to run on my page.

i want to create a trigger that will update a table when there is an insert or update.i can't across this error that i don't even know what it means "table %s.%s is mutating, trigger/function may not see it".
*Cause: A trigger (or a user defined plsql function that is referenced in this statement) attempted to look at (or modify) a table that was in the middle of being modified by the statement which fired it.
*Action: Rewrite the trigger (or function) so it does not read that table.

I have one doubt about update command in sql. How to update the multiple rows with different values using update statment.

I've 2 identical tables of 300+ columns each,and each of table is having pk as combination of 2 fields.There are some fields where data is not matching. need a query which will use these two tables and return the following-
1. primary key columns
2. null value for fields where data is matching

I want to print data from a clob in XML format and use the following
PROCEDURE printClobOut(result IN OUT NOCOPY CLOB) is

However the length of the clob is 13832630 which is too large for a VARCHAR2. Thus my output of line is cut off at 4000 characters. How can i increase this... Do i overlook something here in my code?
