SQL & PL/SQL :: List All Tables In Database With Particular Record Values Combination

Jul 1, 2013

I have 3 tables in the Oracle database( emp, employee, emp1) which has following record values in it.

empidenamejob
7369, 'SMITH', 'CLERK'

I would like to list these 3 tables thru SQL/PLSQL, having the above record values combination. Also, the name of the columns could be different in all the tables i.e. name could be 'ename' in Emp table , and 'name' in Employee table. Is there way to do this in SQL or PLSQL ?

PL/SQL :: Code Erases Previous Month Record While Updating Current Month Record

May 16, 2013

Using 11gR2, windows 7 client machine. I need to update the table missing_volume (below), where I need to calculate the estimated_missing column. The calculation of estimated_missing column for current month needs previous month numbers (as commented inside the code below). I want the output like the first table. Notice the records start from January, hence estimated_missing for January can't be calculated, but for the the rest of the months it can be done by simply changing 'yr' and 'mnth' (commented inside the code towards the end).

yr          mnth          location     volume          actual_missing          expected_missing     estimated_missing
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2013            January          loc1          48037          24               57
2013             February     loc1          47960          3660               53                      24
2013             March          loc1          55007          78               57                      28
2013             April          loc1          54345          72               58                  77The code:

UPDATE missing_volume g

[Code]....

The code does calculate correct number for 'estimated_missing' as I run the code for each month, but the problem is while updating the current month it also erases the record for previous month. E.g. as can be seen below, after I updated April the column only has the record for April, previous month record is gone, similarly updating March removed February, etc. I can't understand why it's happening!! Here is the output I get:

yr          mnth          location     volume          actual_missing          expected_missing     estimated_missing
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2013            January          loc1          48037          24               57
2013             February     loc1          47960          3660               53
2013             March          loc1          55007          78               57
2013             April          loc1          54345          72               58                   77

why it's happening (I mean where is the flaw in the code) and how to get the desired output (first table).

Forms :: Retrieving Previous Record Value Of Same Item In A Block

Jul 17, 2012

I am creating a record with the items - S_No, Product_Name, Selling_Qty, Price.

Checking the total qty (Tot_Qty) from the purchase stock - table1 and already sold out qty (Sold_Qty) of the product from table2.

Consider the following values: Tot_Qty = 200; Sold_Qty = 50;

Now i create a first record of the form as follows: here on selecting the Product_name from LOV, will display the Selling_Qty item - which can be edited (Selling_Qty = Tot_Qty - Sold_Qty) and its price.

S_No Product_Name Selling_Qty Price
1. KeyBoard 50(150) 200
2. KeyBoard 30(150) 200
3. KeyBoard 50(150) 200

Note:
[value given within () are displayed automatically after selecting the prod]

My prob is, when i am entering next record, it displays the same 150 as qty, which have to be 100. After selecting the product from LOV, it should calculate & validate as shown below: which means, previous record value of Selling_Qty also have to be subtracted and displayed.

S_No Product_Name Selling_Qty Price
1. KeyBoard 50(150) 200
2. KeyBoard 30(100) 200
3. KeyBoard 50(70) 200

Is there any built-in functions to retrieve previous record value?

SQL & PL/SQL :: Return Most Recent Record Previous To Start Date?

Nov 18, 2011

I have a sub query (already dervived from several other tables) that has a list of children in with the date they started their course (tableofchildren). Child IDs may be duplicated in this query but each record will have unique start dates per child ID.

I have a second sub query which lists workers involved with the children in the first query (tableofworkers). A worker may be responsible for more than one child but has the unique child in the record to identify involvement with the child.

I need to join these queries together to return the child's record with the WorkerName and the AllocatedStartDate of the worker who was most recently involved with the child prior to the date (EnteredCourseDate) the child started their course (OutputWanted) - the worker associated with the child when they started their course.

A couple of points - I need to deploy this into another reporting application that doesn't support cursors etc or the 'With' operator. Also, I tend to join tables/queries in the Where clause so if it's possible that way that would be great.

OC.
create table tableofchildren
(ChildID varchar(20),
ChildName varchar (50),

[Code].....

SQL & PL/SQL :: Multiple Record Split On Date Conditions?

May 12, 2012

Scenario 1 Query should check for priority record(25), if the start_date and end_date of that priority record is the max in that group, records will not have any split.output will be the same.

DC Store St Date End date Priority
955 3 1/1/2010 12/31/9999 25
966 3 4/5/2011 10/10/2011 50
977 3 10/12/2011 12/12/2012 100

output

DC store St Date End date Priority Rank
955 3 1/1/2010 12/31/9999 25 1
966 3 4/5/2011 10/10/2011 50 2
977 3 10/12/2011 12/12/2012 100 3

Scenario 2 If priority record is not covering the max range, then split the records as shown below,

1. during the time period 1/1/2011 & 4/30/2011 there were no other DC for that store so rank would be 1

2. the next range would be 5/1/2011 to 6/29/2011 we have 2 records in service so the record with low priortiy would be ranked 1 and second priority would be ranked 2

3. similarly, for 6/30/2011 to 10/1/2011 we have 3 records in service and it will be ranked accordingly on the priority.

DC Store St Date End date Priority
966 3 6/30/2011 10/1/2011 25
955 3 5/1/2011 11/30/2011 50
977 3 1/1/2011 12/31/2011 100

output

DC store St Date End date Priority Rank
977 3 1/1/2011 4/30/2011 100 1
955 3 5/1/2011 6/29/2011 50 1
977 3 5/1/2011 6/29/2011 100 2

[code]....

Scenario 3 This works similar to scenario 2

DC Store St Date End date Priority
966 3 2/1/2011 12/31/2011 25
955 3 1/1/2011 12/31/2012 50
977 3 5/1/2011 06/31/2011 100

output

DC store St Date End date Priority Rank
955 3 1/1/2011 1/31/2011 50 1
966 3 2/1/2011 12/31/2011 25 1
955 3 2/1/2011 12/31/2011 50 2
977 3 5/1/2011 6/30/2011 100 3
955 3 1/1/2012 12/31/2012 50 1

SQL & PL/SQL :: Generate Unique Combination

Dec 17, 2011

I need a "solution", guidance to a problem I have to solve. I have different letters with a value associate to it like

A:10, B:20, ..., G:250 and I have a Target to reach TARGET= 90

and I need to find among all letters I have which combination is equal or closest to my target.

A:10
B:20
C:20
D:20
E:30
F:40
G:250

IF there is more than one solution possible, the first found is perfect. With my example I can reach 90 with different combinations:

A+B+C+F
A+B+D+F
A+C+D+F
B+C+D+E
B+E+F
C+E+F
D+E+F

To complicate the things I have up to 10 different letters that need to combine to match my target. If there is no combination that exactly match my target, the closest higher combination is picked.

SQL & PL/SQL :: Finding UNIQUE Combination

Oct 4, 2012

I have contents like below:

BREAD,BISCUIT
BREAD,MILK,BISCUIT
COKE,MILK
MILK,SUGAR

Now combination from each row will be like below (Just for understanding):

BREAD,BISCUIT --> [COMBINATION] {BISCUIT} {BREAD} {BISCUIT,BREAD}
BREAD,MILK,BISCUIT --> [COMBINATION] {BISCUIT} {BREAD} {MILK} {BISCUIT,BREAD} {BISCUIT,MILK} {BREAD,MILK} {BISCUIT,BREAD,MILK}
COKE,MILK --> [COMBINATION] {COKE} {MILK} {COKE,MILK}
MILK,SUGAR --> [COMBINATION] {MILK} {SUGAR} {MILK,SUGAR}

Now the ultimate aim is to find unique combinations (even if the same combination is present in different rows, we have to consider it as one combination), along with its frequency, result will be like below:

BISCUIT [occurence in 2 transactions and total 4 transactions] = 2/4 = .5
BREAD [occurence in 2 transactions and total 4 transactions] = 2/4 = .5
COKE [occurence in 1 transactions and total 4 transactions] = 2/4 = .25
MILK = 3/4 = .75

[Code]....

writing query to find unique combination like above? What I have tried is as below:

create table test (row_no number, col_no number, item varchar2(50))
/

insert into test values (1,1,'BREAD');
insert into test values (1,2,'BISCUIT');
insert into test values (2,1,'BREAD');

[Code]....

But I am not able to form the exact query. let me know if this can't be done through a single query.
