I created a seperate tablespace just to ensure that I can see tables created by me. But I can see other tables too (system).
For eg: CTXSYS.CTX_USER_PREFERENCES
How to get rid of such tables in your tablespace?
we have third party application which uses oracle database (version 10.2.0.5) on WINDOWS. Our no of process used keeps increasing by 15-20 everyday.
However number of sessions remain constant 32-35 . So in couple of days we reach our limit of max processes and DB needs to be restarted to release processes.
How to identify unwanted process ?? is it safe to kill process(windows threads) which have V$PROCESS.ADDR not equal to V$SESSION.PADDR using orakill or some other third party utility or should I use another way ??

I was importing one schema from Oracle 10g to 11g using traditional import. I imported as a SYS user, so all the objects created in SYS schema. how can I remove these objects and retain only default SYS objects

There is an interface table and there is an normal transcational table..interface table is being compared with normal table and if match found the result is dumped into another normal table.
I am using two cursors one is to query the interface table and in a for loop pass the results to the second cursor..The interface table is having 5000 + rows and the transcation table is having more than 3.7 millions ..and the program is taking lots of time to execute..took almost 35-45 minutes..

I have an Image Type on a forum page. I want a default "not-found" image to display if the BLOB column value is null or if there is no data for that search value. The image is stored with the app: #APP_IMAGES#not-found.png

using SQLLDR: Looking for a control file solution to move past or bypass extra data fields which are not on destination table. Basically if you have 8 tab delimited fields(terminated by ' ') on a data record; but only need to load 5 of the values from the delimited record; is there a way to ignore/bypass the not needed data. Obviously, the answer would be to massage the data at the OS and removed the 3 unnecessary fields.
However my hands are tied by volume,time, and compliancy. I am familiar with using 'FILLER' for the reverse scenario; but not where you have more data available on the record then exists on the table.
i got a prob in executing a query in my oracle.TRANSACTIONLIST is the table and my query is..

But it is given result as "no data found".
I'm trying to create a function that simply returns the current database name (e.g: select db_unique_name FROM v$database ) from a function but when I compile it comes up with :
Error(9,5): PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
Error(9,44): PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
I am compiling and running this as the SYSTEM user and I do think that I need to set privledges/roles, etc to allow this (since I have read that using synonyms in functions/procedures requires permissions...but I cannot seem to find anything that tells me exactly what role/priveledge I need to grant/allow to let this happen.
while importing dump file into database,i received the following error.

But i checked in dump file ,the table exist .

Not able to understand what's wrong with the code. I am trying to import data to a table using a CSV file. I have exported the data (CSV) from the interactive report and I am just trying to insert the same data to the table, through a process. When, I tried to do so; its throwing an error message saying NO_DATA_FOUND and file is not getting inserted into wwv_flow_files table.
But when I removed the data from the CSV file for the comments field and then tried importing the file, the process worked. I don't understand whats the problem with the code.

I thought this was the easy bit in APEX when you just create a form based on a table, with some validations etc. and use it to insert,update data. However on inserting the first record, I get the following error:

The form is based on a table with a primary key and the primary key is populated from an APEX-generated sequence.
I tried recreating the form, but still no good and now I get the no data error even when clicking "RUN" at page level, so the page does not even display.

Actually I have to modify set SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT,TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT in SQL net .ora . But I cant fine that file in $ORACLE_ HOME /network/admin directory.
But I found this other files like listener.ora and tnsname.ora in the same directory.
When I give sho parameter nalue in listener prompt it shows some values. Is it showing default values without sqlnet file (is it fauture of Oracle11g).
I could find tables with following name in my tablespace.

And I have error on "select jnl_id into jid" this line. And the error text is "no data found". And I know that there is no data in the table column jnl_id.

In multimaster replication, I am getting the following error in the master sites.

But when i checked for the data, I found that the records are present.
In a procedure I try to make the following select :

We have the following trigger in database, whenever we try to insert the record in WIP_OPERATIONS , NO DATA FOUND exception has been thrown, when we debugged, we did not find any issue. The first select statement is getting failed even though there is the value coming for :NEW.wip_entity_id and when we execute the query separately in database with the :NEW.WIP_ENTITY_ID, its getting the value. What could be the reason? Can't we use SELECT Statement in AFTER or BEFORE INSERT trigger?why its throwing NO_DATA_FOUND Exception?
