SQL & PL/SQL :: Filtering Rows Out Of Block

I need to filter rows out of a plsql block but its not working correctly. the logic is to filter on 2 conditions.
DEPT_ID BALANCES
------------------------------
10 1000
15 2000
30 4000
50 3000
10 2000
30 600
I do not want to show deptid 10 and balance of 1000 and do not want to show dept 30 and balance of 4000
AND (
dept_id <> 10 AND balances <> 1000
OR
dept_id <> 30 AND balances <> 4000
)
but i am still getting the rows..

For one example table t1 as below, I want to find the maximum 5 biggest size, but there should not be more than 2 name from the same position.

I have a table with name SQL_STATEMENTS and it has 1 column, Column name is STATEMENT_DESC
The contents of rows in Table above are:

select * from dept;
Can I write a PLSQL block that can select these 2 rows from the table and execute them?

A block shouldn't have rows from multiple tables... Is that true? I read in one of the OTN thread (i don't exactly remember the thread name) that a block can have data from multiple tables. If it doesn't have, what's the table directory in block signifies?

I need to read a huge number of rows, say in lakhs and then need to populate it in data block. Since it is having huge data am never able to run the form. it hangs after some time. when i test with few rows it is working. so no problem in coding.

I would like resolve an issue, I would like to know if is there any posibility to filter particular conditions using sql, the example that Im going to describe below shows these conditions:
create table t1
(
month number,
club char(2),
total_subs number
)
[Code]....
month sum(total_subs)
------------------------
1 21
2 13
3 89
4 6
5 7
therefore I would like exclude the total_subs for the club c2 in the months (1,2,3) and obtain the next result
month sum(total_subs)

I am using Oracle 11.2.1.0 version.I want to restrict archiving for some tables. I think NOLOGGING will solve this problem. Is there any option for restricting archiving.
For example, I have three tables called A, B and C. I want to archive only 2 tables A and B but not C.

i am using oracle 10g. and my database was in arabic and when i press Ctrl+L the LOV was displaying all the records what i select. but when i want filter the lov by customer name it was not filtering.

My problem is I am trying to add a 3rd parameter which will tell the extract to pull all of the data or just the deltas. So I added &3 to the comments and I have tried putting CASE or DECODE functions into the WHERE clause with no luck. I also tried to do a CASE or DECODE with two different SELECTS, again with no luck.

I need to work on this requirement.
There are FOUR tables ( T1 , T11 & T2, T22) ALL store order information.
One of four conditions are possible for each Supply Reorder Number:
•Both table queries return no records
oPopulate all the output fields with nulls
•T1 returns a record, but T2 returns no records
oPopulate output fields with values from the join of T1 and T11.
•T1 returns no records, but T2 returns one record
oPopulate output fields with values from the join of T2 and T22.
•T1 returns a record, and T2 returns a record
oIf the latest order is in T1, then populate output fields with values from the join of T1 and T11.
oIf order dates are equal from both join results, then populate output fields with values from the join of T1 and T11 .
oIf the latest order is in T2, then populate output fields with values from the join of T2 and T22.
How do we filter the dataset based on result of table join ?

I have a report which comes from a table-function. This produces hundreds of lines of output which the user would like to be able to select and then export just the subset of lines.Looking at the Forum's (this article and this one) this seems possible if you are working with a table where you can re-query the original dataset with just a specific rowset required however as the table-function is generating output on the fly it is hard to rerun the query to reselect the same output for redisplay. Also most of the reports are working with interactive reports - whilst this is just static output. Is there a way to redisplay the information which has already been shown in an filtered way with check boxes?Is there then a way to have hidden fields which are not shown when the check boxes are selected but which can be shown in the "filtered" view? I am using Apex 4.0 at the moment on an Oracle 10g instance.

i have multi data block filed. and checkbox field which based on control block...My task is when i check checkbox only one field should enabled and my mouse goes to that field
e.g

item12 item22 item32 chkbox2
Scenario like this :
My item field based on data block and checkbox based on control block,while i checked chkbox1 , only item31 on that current record should be enabled and i changed value only on that field
when i checked chkbox1 , my cursor goes to item31...not item32

i have a master detail form, In Master block we have one field cheque amount and in Detail block we have field receiveable amount invoice wise. if company paid us a cheque amount we will enter this amount in Master block field Cheque amount and in detail block there will be invoice wise receivable amounts. i want to distribute the cheque amount in detail block invoice wise for example
Cheque amount in master block = 291
Invoice wise receiveable amount is as follows
Invoice No , receivable amount , Received amount
10, 196 , 0
20 , 95 , 0
30 , 54 , 0
Result should be as follows:
Invoice No , receivable amount , Received amount
10, 196, 196
20 , 95 , 95
30 , 54, 0
Received amount field should be distributed according to the receivable amount when recevied amount = cheque amount then remaining will be 0.

I have a multi record control block (basically a text item displaying 6 records) where user enters values and I want to process the values using pre-insert trigger.
I want to read value in each record and then do some tasks using a pre-insert trigger before I commit the values. To navigate between the records I was using first_record, next_record, clear_record built-ins but it gives errors like "40737-illegalrestricted procedure next_record in pre-insert trigger".

I am running the stand alone pl/sql block. it opens the for cursor and the updating the table. select value in the cursor having 3 lack records. the server output is returning junk values. Why i am getting this junk value here.

From plan I would expect the delete command to be processed very quickly, however it does huge amounts of db block gets. I assume this is because of deleting the row from other structures (indexes, foreign keys in tables etc.) How can I find out which object scan caused the db block gets ?

I want to execute a procedure and view its output. The procedurename is GET_clnts which has one of the parameters as clob where i am passing xmltype data to it.How can i execute the procedure to view the output. i can execute the SQL statement by itself, but not sure how to call a procedure from a plsql block..

I created one table with out primary key like well_1 .in that table have have more than 30 columns.

AS of we know that we can get the number of blocks occupied by data in a table by querying the user_tables Data Dictionary.
My questions are,
1.)how to know if i want the each block size ?(i.e each block size either it is 4kb or 8kb or 16kb..)?
2.) Is the block size is same for all blocks in a table and in Database or it varies?
3.)The block size is DB dependent or Table dependent or Machine dependent(32-bit, 64-bit and OS)?
