I wanna convert the amount of money from number to string such as 144.5 to be one hundred forty four point five is there any function or i have to write my function? How could i put new line in the string?
for example if i have 'SAB Bank' || 'Riyadh'
but i want SAB bank to be displayed in line and Riyadh in line.
I found this query in my sub version repository and really wondering how this working

I have .rdf files from mid 1990's ( I'm not sure what is the version, perhaps 2.5 ) and now I would like to modify them by Oracle Reports Builder 6i or 9i. If I try to open those files by Oracle Reports Builder 6i I get the following error message:
REP-0110: Unable to open file 'C:file.rdf'
REP-1070: Error while opening or saving a document
So I made a conclusion that those .rdf files are too old for 6i. Do I need to convert, and especially how, those files? .rdf files where copied from Unix machine to Win XP machine where Oracle Report Builder is installed.

but page number is not my table database item how can i use builtan page &<pagenumber> use for conditional format.
I made a report that has a report wizard option 'Paper Layout only'. As I finished that, suddenly I realized that I must have to run it also in web. So I must have choose the options both 'paper layout and web layout'.
How can I do that or is it possible to do that without repeating everything that I have done?

I get string from DB (It's a paragraph) But i would like to set bold weight on a part of the string
for now, i set bold text i want to and i have created a fonction that make text bold like this

I have a problem with Between clause used in where statement to compare two string variable.
Query is like this,
select item_code, item_deacrption
from itm_master, invoce_det
where im_code = item_code
AND invd_item_number BETWEEN (:startNum) AND (:endNum)
Here invd_item_number is a DB field and is of type varchar2(41), and (:startNum),(:endNum) are of same type.
now invd_item_number has one value '001003002001'
if we give :startNum = '001003001002' and :endNum = '001003004006'
:startNum and :endNum is composed of separate field values (ie, 1st 3 character shows color code, next 3 for catagory, next 3 for size etc). These codes are entered separately and are combined at run time.
it is still fetching the invd_item_number with value '001003002001'. (the last set of character(type code) in the :startNum is greater than invd_item_number's type code value. But it is smaller than the previous code (size code), that's why it is fetching).
But how can i get around this as i don't need that value to be fetched.
My own created software is running since last 4 years but now when I am trying to run a report then I got a message "REP-0002 unable to retrieve a string from the report builder" and as a result my report don't run. Please note that some other reports are working properly, this problem is happens only with some of them reports.

I want to display a boilerplate item and their value only on the last page.
The item is under frame . So print object at last page doesn't work.
I could find the page number by the use of srw.get_page_num(n).
But not sure how to find the last page number.
I just want to know whether we can mask salary column of number datatype into text ,like we used to_char(to_date(<column_name>,'j'),'jsp') in sql? for example

So I have selected a field and set the Source as "page Number". While I run the report through Reports Builder,it is properly displayed the page number. But while I copied the report to unix and run through "$ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/reports/bin/rwrun.sh", the page number is showing as 65536 . By changing the Source of the field to "Total Page" or "Physical page Number" make no difference.Every times It is showing the page number 65536 in the pdf output of the report.

In Report it is possible to set the maximum rows to fetch to be a number e.g. 1+.Is it possible to use a number that is selected from another query? When I try to do this i.e. I put in the field num_lines or :num_lines I just get invalid number

I have the following Union All query. It throws the following error in SQL plus
ERROR at line 27: ORA-01789: query block has incorrect number of result columns
After doing some google for the above error it suggests there are incorrect number of columns in the Union All query.I could not figure out the exact location well SQl Plus says error is on line 27 at the first opening bracket like
