Reports & Discoverer :: How To Set Part Of String In Bold

I work with Oracle Forms and Report Builder since several weeks, but now i have something that i want to do with Report Builder.
I get string from DB (It's a paragraph) But i would like to set bold weight on a part of the string
for now, i set bold text i want to and i have created a fonction that make text bold like this
l_chaine := (SUBSTR(MyStrFromDB, InSTR(UPPER(MyStrFromDB), '[B]'),InSTR(UPPER(MyStrFromDB), '[/B]') ));
if(length(l_chaine) > 0) then
SRW.SET_FONT_WEIGHT(SRW.BOLD_WEIGHT);
end if;
but it doesnt look to works..
how can i do that? And where i can do that?

I have a doubt; can we format a particular word in oracle reports at runtime..?
Ex:-
A text filed contains data Quote:We request #BANK# to finance the same Bill as per agreed interest rate and other terms and conditions agreed on the above addendum and immediately remit the proceeds to our account A/c no. #ACCOUNTNO#, held with your Bank.
We need to make #BANK#, #ACCOUNTNO# are bold at runtime, Is there any method to format characters at runtime..?

I wanna convert the amount of money from number to string such as 144.5 to be one hundred forty four point five is there any function or i have to write my function? How could i put new line in the string?
for example if i have 'SAB Bank' || 'Riyadh'
but i want SAB bank to be displayed in line and Riyadh in line.

I have a problem with Between clause used in where statement to compare two string variable.
Query is like this,
select item_code, item_deacrption
from itm_master, invoce_det
where im_code = item_code
AND invd_item_number BETWEEN (:startNum) AND (:endNum)
Here invd_item_number is a DB field and is of type varchar2(41), and (:startNum),(:endNum) are of same type.
now invd_item_number has one value '001003002001'
if we give :startNum = '001003001002' and :endNum = '001003004006'
:startNum and :endNum is composed of separate field values (ie, 1st 3 character shows color code, next 3 for catagory, next 3 for size etc). These codes are entered separately and are combined at run time.
it is still fetching the invd_item_number with value '001003002001'. (the last set of character(type code) in the :startNum is greater than invd_item_number's type code value. But it is smaller than the previous code (size code), that's why it is fetching).
But how can i get around this as i don't need that value to be fetched.

My own created software is running since last 4 years but now when I am trying to run a report then I got a message "REP-0002 unable to retrieve a string from the report builder" and as a result my report don't run. Please note that some other reports are working properly, this problem is happens only with some of them reports.

I have written one program that inserts one field in table item_master based on existing field,for eg, its like old field is 'HEB240x240x10x17x13000mm, S 275 JR' - and i want to replace the 5 digits before mm i.e 13000 needs to be replaced by 6000 or 4000 based on generated values and the new item will be like 'HEB240x240x10x17x6000mm, S 275 JR' or 'HEB240x240x10x17x4000mm, S 275 JR'.

I have 3 pages: - Classes: a Classic Report that shows a list of classes and summarises attendance- Class Attendance Report: An Interactive Report that shows a row for each student that attended a class- Attendance Add / Edit Form On the Classes page, the Date value is a Link which passes a filter in the URL to the Class Attendance Report, showing only students who attended the class held on this date On the Class Attendance Report, I want to have a Region Button that, when clicked, goes to the Attendance Add / Edit Form and the Class Date field on this form is automatically populated with the same date value as was being used for the filter on the Interactive Report on the Class Attendance Report Page. So, I click on the Class Date link for 2013-11-01, this takes me to the Class Attendance Report and filters for students who have been already entered as attending on 2013-11-01. If I click on the "Add Attendance" button, it goes to the Attendance Add / Edit form and the Class Date is automatically set to 2013-11-01. I assume I need to do this via a Dynamic Action that runs when the "Add Attendance" button on the Class Attendance Report page is clicked?

I have a table of addresses where the indexed column consists of the city, an optional area name, the street name and the street number. For example 'Stockholm Drottninggatan 2'.
The users must enter the full city name and the beginning of the street name. So if the user wants to find all the addresses of both the streets Stockrosvägen and Stockbergsvägen which are in Stockholm, the query would look something like this:
Select * From AddressSearch
Where Contains(AddressSearch.Address, 'Stockholm AND Stock%') > 0;
But this will select all the addresses of Stockholm. Is there a way to make the part after the AND not match the already matched first part?

When running my query in sql developer, I have to execute the command apps.fnd_global.apps_initialize(user_id, resp_id, resp_appl_id) in order to show the result of my query. Without this, the query returns nothing. The problem is I am using this query as a custom query for my Discoverer report and my report does not show any record.

My user would like to have a way to attach files to database records. For simplicity, we'll say that each employee in the database could have 0-many file attachments associated with them. I know how to make this part work using Oracle Forms.
So that's the easy part for me. The tough part is that they want to be able to run an Oracle Report on our application server (displays as a PDF, also downloadable as a PDF) and have links on this report to the attachments that they uploaded using the forms process above.
For the idea of storing the files on a folder somewhere, I simply created a text object on the report that had it's hyperlink property pointing to the file location. Done.. opens fine.
However, I want to be able to have the option of storing these files in the database instead, just in case we can't go with the shared folder idea. I'm not sure how to make this work. I can store a blob in the database.. but how do I link to that blob on the report for them to be able to download it? Is this even possible?
how to create a download link on the Oracle Report that let's them download a file out of the database.

Rep - 51002 : Bind to Reports Server rep_wwubh01ap45 failed.
I have checked the file $ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf rwservelet.properties. The parameter SERVER=rep_wwubh01ap45 was present in that file.

We have a reports proces which we want to produce a report where the browser windows doest not display, or if it does, quickly closes after the report is completed.We are using Forms Version 10.1.2.0.2, Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.4.0, OS is Windows XP Pro SP3

I'm using Report Builder 9.0.4.0.33.
I am creating a report which generates the data to a PDF/CSV based on users Input.When I create the report using Report Builder and execute the report,Delimited data appears in a PDF layout.
But if I add the below code in After Parameter Form trigger,the column headers keeps repeating with the data.
