May 7, 2013i have a form based on view just to display. when i execute query,records are getting displayed more than once. make them get displayed just once.

Forms :: Create View Based On Values Selected In Forms
Jun 7, 2013I am working on a simple form which will get the user to fetch required columns of employee master.
For that i have created a form which will display the column names and select option. When user clicks on query, the form will display the selected columns in a block. After going thru if required the user can download it to excel.
As of now I do not have filtering option. For this I thought of creating view based on the selection and then fetch records from the view and display it in form.
To achieve this I would like to know How I create or replace a view dynamically based on values selected. I remember doing this sort of thing long back, but could not recollect it.

My requirement is as below,
While saving a records i want to check distinct value of specific item can not be greater than some value say 2. Then only my records should be saved. I am planning to populate those values in a collection table type and take the distinct values from it. How to populate record values in a collection table type.

And then i call:

Form status change to "QUERY"
And then i click button "Import Data" from excel file to Data Block. Now form status change to "CHANGED". But i cannot call "Commit_Form" built-in to insert data to database oracle 10g.

For the column all possible values are ( P102,P101,P103 etc toP124). I want to create a view ( if possible ) from the above with data output as :
PROV_ID P101 P102 P103 ............................P124
z000234 23 45 60 72
basically this view has columns based on the previous tables column ( MEASURE_ID) values and the values will be corresponding value in column Percentage.

Apr 1, 2009I have a Materialized view based on 2 views. I modified one column in both the views.Do i need to refresh the Materialized view.
E.g. :
In view1 and view2 i changed column like this

Aug 15, 2012I am searching for a decent method / example code to subdivide a large table (into a global temp table (GTT) for further processing) based on a list of numeric/alphanumeric which is the resultset from a view.
I am groping with the following strategy in PL/SQL:
1 -- set up cursor, execute the view (so I have the list of identifiers)
2 -- create a second cursor (or loop?) which: accepts each of the identifiers in turn executes a query (EXECUTE IMMEDIATE?) on the larger table INSERTs (or appends?) each resultset into the GTT
3 -- Then the GTT contains just the requires subset of the larger table for further processing and eventual import into iReport for reporting.
GTT is defined and ready to go, the larger table contains approx 40,000 rows and I need to extract a dozen subsets or so which add up to approx 1000 rows.

Jul 30, 2012My DBA gave me a table with only one date column say Table1.Date. Its in the format of Date and say it is = 7/23/2012.
Now i have to create my own Reporting View(which is used for reporting) based on that date column like below:
It should be a column with values in the following format =
2012-07
2012-06
2012-05 etc....upto
2010-01
So i started out my creating like this:
select
to_char(Table1.Date,'yyyy-mm')
from Table1
Union
[Code]....
.and so on till i get 2010-01.
there has to be a better way to do this.

May 10, 2013I thought this was the easy bit in APEX when you just create a form based on a table, with some validations etc. and use it to insert,update data. However on inserting the first record, I get the following error:

ora_sqlcode: 100
ora_sqlerrm: ORA-01403: no data found

The form is based on a table with a primary key and the primary key is populated from an APEX-generated sequence.
I tried recreating the form, but still no good and now I get the no data error even when clicking "RUN" at page level, so the page does not even display.

Import failed" I've seen some posts regarding this error but nothing that works with my current situation. The database grants are in place.

In my login form, I am using NEW_FORM to close my login form and wants to activate my explorer form but every time a pop-up raised and asked "DO YOU WANT TO CALL THE NEW FORM?", if I pressed YES then pointer moved to explorer form.
This form is working perfectly in 6i and didn't asked anything and moved to successfully to explorer form.

Aug 24, 2013My scenario is I need to insert into History table when a record is been updated into a tabular form(insert the updated record along with the additional columns Action_by,Action_type(Like Update or delete) and Action Date Into History table i.e History table contains all the records as the main table which is been visible in tabular form along with these additional columns ...Action_by,action_type and action_date.
So now i dont want to create a befor/after update trigger on base table rather i would like to create a generic procedure which will insert the updated record into history table taking the page alias and pade ID as the parameters(GENERIC procedure is nothing but whcih applies to all the tabular forms(Tables) contained int he application ).

Now it shows fine but when I close this form and open another those fields are now blacked out. What should I do, I know the problem comes from the new form.

Jun 25, 2013I have created a custom form which fetches certain records. There is a column called invoice_create_flag which is check box. By default when we query this form, value of check box is 'Y'. Another column is Amount.
Initially when form is called, all the records are selected. Hence it should show the total of all the records. Now If the users unchecks any record, System should deduct the amount of that particular record from the total amount.
