Forms :: Record Is Getting Saved Twice
Mar 8, 2012My record is getting saved twice every time I push my button to commit changes to my DB.I have already records from my table and when I click for that record to update the grade. the same record is getting saved twice.I have put my queries in on-update trigger to update the grade of my record. I check my query, don't have errors. I don't know what's wrong with this.

Mar 17, 2010I have a form reading record information from a flat file and inserting data into a number of varied tables. At the end of file (last line read) the form issues a commit to make all inserts/updates permanent.
There is a record that disappears in particular and this everytime I re-run the test. I mean than in Debug mode, I find it in the right table everytime I query that table until the moment the commit is issued in the code - which is definitely the opposite of what should happen. I understand that for some reason a rollback happens for that record (others are ok after the commit) but my point is that if for some constraint reasons, the record did not qualify, an error should have popped up right from the Insert that added that record, right? Then How comes I find it in the table up until the moment of the commit ?? ...is the deferrable constraint property a clue for digging further?

Aug 30, 2012i have one table ot_ins_item where user will enter the details of item, grade,item qty , later on user will go and update the same table the details of different grades received for the same item in different columns with qty breakup in 3 different fields it_qty_01 , it_qty_02,it_qty_03 respectively with different grades , what i need is i want is whenever he updates this table with different grades based on data entered in 3 different fields , a procedure or trigger should delete the initial record saved and insert three different rows based on newly updated values , it may be 3 or it may be 2 sometime depending upon input values that many records should be inserted same time controlling the qty's entered in breakup not exceeding the main qty.

Forms ::create History Record For Each Record Whether Updated Or Not
Sep 13, 2011I have a fairly standard Purchase Order form which contains pre-loaded data (been uploaded from an XML file).When the Purchase Order is processed, the form updates a Price History table only if the Price on the PO_Details changes.The code for updating the price history table is contained in a PRE_UPDATE trigger on the PO_Details Data Block.
No other data changes on the PO_Details table.I now want to change this so that the Price History table is updated even if the price does not change i.e I want to create a history record for each record on the PO_Details irrespective of whether it was updated or not.
Is there an alternative trigger that I can move my code to (ie move it from PRE_UPDATE) to some other trigger that is fired for each PO_Details record even if there is no change.

eg.

in the above example i have to check for d_key for set of row exist in target or not, so by above example d_key 1 and 3 has save value in 2 different rows so i want to check if the combination of rows

as a set appear in source then do nothing else insert so first time d_key 1 both records will insert but for d_key has same set in 2 rows will not be inseted. the number of row can be more than 2 also . so for the given key if we have 3 rows in source then i have to compare all the 3 same set of row in target exist of . in the target i don't have any extra column.

PL/SQL :: Code Erases Previous Month Record While Updating Current Month Record
May 16, 2013Using 11gR2, windows 7 client machine. I need to update the table missing_volume (below), where I need to calculate the estimated_missing column. The calculation of estimated_missing column for current month needs previous month numbers (as commented inside the code below). I want the output like the first table. Notice the records start from January, hence estimated_missing for January can't be calculated, but for the the rest of the months it can be done by simply changing 'yr' and 'mnth' (commented inside the code towards the end).

The code does calculate correct number for 'estimated_missing' as I run the code for each month, but the problem is while updating the current month it also erases the record for previous month. E.g. as can be seen below, after I updated April the column only has the record for April, previous month record is gone, similarly updating March removed February, etc. I can't understand why it's happening!! Here is the output I get:

Aug 22, 2005I have created a form which as two block as master and detail.I am facing two problem in my detail block.
First: When I populate records in detail block, it prompt a message 'Do you want to save record ?'.
Second : When I alter any value in detail block and move to next record, it prompt a message 'Do you want to save record ?'
Is there any way where, system don't prompt me a message for saving record and user can continue with changes and save the records when he desire.

Nov 5, 2011I administer a database oracle 10g for a small company . the we mostly work in oracle forms 6i and after 2 3 days a message springs up "Could not reserve record (2 tries), keep trying?" when a user tries to save a record . Is there any decent solution to this problem other than restarting the Db server all over again .?

but if I changed the date and go back "the date which i disabled its records" (reload that data) then it will be disabled
finding a way so it will be disabled immediately so i don't need to change dates to be disabled

Oct 21, 2010I have developed a form, containing 5 tab pages and also referencing to 5 tables.tab page a of table a some fields are required and some or not.when i open form and start entering record, and then i change mine and dont enter and want to navigate to some other page, it simply allows me to leave it blank and move to some other tab page.
tab page b of table bsome fields are required and some or not.when i open this tab page and one i click in the first field and then do not enter anything in it and want to leave it , it does not allow me to leave blank.what could be the reason. why one tab page allow me to leave blank and navigate and why the other does not?first field of both tab pages are required.

Sep 6, 2012I have two blocks on which I am having relation based on booking number and employee code. As I am doing a query, booking number is getting fetched in employee code's field and employee code is getting fetched in booking number's feild. Because of this, I am not able to update the form. It is giving me error unable to update record unique contraint voilated for primary key which is quite obivious. But why the data could get shuffled in each others field though during inserting its going properly.
