on clicking select.show,while running the form data(DATE and APPLICANT_NO) is being accesed from local database but after uploading the form the data is not coming from main database,even if the data is present in the main database.

i have columns called data_received(data received from server) , URL (sites visited)
now i want to display top 50 sites based on highest data_received.URL column will have some sites repeated.
I want to display a pdf file (or other types of documents like word or excel) that is already stored in a blob column in the database, in a form control and be able to view the records one by one just like an image.
Is this possible? if so, how? If not, can you direct me to additional code, technology, package or whatever solution that can achieve the desired results. sing Oracle forms 6i and database 10g.

I have successfully Stored image file in Oracle 10g Database Table using Forms 6i. But I cannot retrieve that image and display on Forms 6i. Image Item on Form is not a database Item.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI turned on ARCHIVELOG in my main database, anticipating GoldenGate replications and standing up a physical standby database. However, during the process I forgot to create a new SPFILE for my database, meaning that the next time the database cycled, the archive log destination would revert to the Oracle default (rather than the mount point I had set up to receive them) $ORACLE_BASE/fast_recovery_area
. I discovered this because my database hung..... In looking at the ALERT LOG, I discovered that the logs were going to fast_recovery_area, and it had run out of room. OK, so I did an alter system set db_recovery_file_dest_size= 5G scope=both; at which point in time I was notified that no active SPFILE existed! I moved out all of the logfiles that were in the fast_recovery_area, but the database seemed to still think that it was full.
I've managed to get everything fixed and put back together, but my remaining question is: After I freed up all sorts of space in the fast_recovery_area, why did/does the database still think that area is full?
I am using oracle 11g database.
unforunatly i delete the data from main table. and i operated alter stmt.
now how do i retrieve the data..??
I have a procedure which mainly run queries on a Table which has nearly 9.5 million recodes. This procedures takes nearly 15 min to complete execution on our main database. I exported and imported the schema to our backup database and the same procedure just took 3 seconds to complete.
I tried to analyze the table in our main database and tried to execute the procedure again but did not show any improvements. ANALYZE TABLE DN_ACTIONS COMPUTE STATISTICS;
I am not sure computing the statistics for all the tables in the schema will work. I also checked there is enough disk space where oracle data files are stored. I am also turning on the sql trace to see what sql statements in the procedure is taking longer time.

the file save.GIF is saved under c:temp directory.
i had tried all the changes in registry.dat,orion file through the doc 203846.1 from metalink. Give me sample code step to step for showing a
push button with icon during run time. Also I tried the steps mentioned in the pdf document of

But it did not solve my problem. My icon file name is save.GIF , I wanted to know whether save.GIF file name convention is valid or not. Give the path from where I can get the icons used for web.

One issue I guess would be bind variable peeking while using application whereas executing from sqlplus is causing hard parsing and thus getting rid of "peeking"
If displaying the data on application screen is taking time after data has been fetched, where I can see this delay?
I understand the elapsed time under 'Fetch' in tkprof will show time taken to fetch from database and not the time taken to be displayed in the application GUI

I have created a form in which I have 2 canvases - content canvas and a tabbed canvas.
I have only 4 fields on the content canvas and the remaining on the tabbed canvas. My requirement is such that the tabbed canvas should appear below the content canvas when I run the form, i.e. the fields on the content canvas will be visible, and below them will be the tabbed canvas.
For the content canvas, I have set the viewportX and viewport Y position as (0,0), and for the tabbed canvas, I have set the viewportX and viewportY position as (0,100). However when I run the form, I only see the tabbed canvas and the area at the top where I should see the contents from the content canvas appear blank.

Now only X is displayed. Canvas Y is vanished after a single blink. But I require both canvases as in initial stage.
All I want to do is run a procedure (DO_H_RUN) that returns a number into "v1" and then use that variable to return the result sets in three selects. This is all in TOAD. If I do not have a where clause, the code executes fine (allowing me to see the data in multiple Grid tabs)! But, I want to filter the rows.
I've tried doing a number of different things (finding all sorts of stuff on the Web) like declaring cursor variables and the like but after spinning on this for a couple of hours, I'm stuck.

i want to display on that form, no. of records of ITEM_NO which i select from the list. like if i have 10 records with item_no which i select from list is must show 1/10.

When i click a node on my tree, it should display the records on it. For example, my root node is Sections, the parents are 1st sem and 2nd sem. In each sections in 1st sem, whenever i click a child node, it should display on display items. I have set its number of items displayed to 9. Since each sections have 9 subjects. The problem when i run it is that it displays many rows.
I have for example two text items(number of records to display is set to 9). What I want is when i go to studentprofile block, it should automatically shows his subjects that are already taken up. the first text item is for 1st semester subjects and the other for 2nd semester.
here is the structure of my subjsec table:

The reason for this is that i would want to prompt the user to confirm that they wanted to exit the form as potentially they would have a record (in the form) flagged as being updated and as such no other user (including themselves) could susbequently access it. So, I'm basically wanting to know if there is a way to catch the fact that the user is about to navigate to another web page.

I have 3 main tables as projects, tasks, clients. Then I have a history table for each. I created a trigger on update/delete that takes the old records and inserts into the history.
Now, I need to retrieve the history but I have no clue how to do so. I need to join these 3 history tables with:
1. select from projects_history with projectID = 1
2. if no records, then go back to projects and get projectID = 1
3. select from task_history with taskID = 1
4. if no records, then go back to tasks with taskID = 1
5. select from client_history with clientID = 1
6. if no records, then go back to client with clientID = 1
where client.taskID = task.taskId and task.projectID = project.projectID.
