i want displaying the query data page wise.
i want place 4 buttons
1 for 1st page, 2nd for next page, 3rd nxt page and 4th for last page.
how can i do this through programming in oracle forms 10g.
give me the entire process of doing this.

Web page that retrives data from SQL database and display it to the user in well formatted manner. Data retrieved depend upon criterias selected by the user. But sometimes data retrieved is very large. I want to display records to the user page wise, i.e. 100 records on first page and next 100 records displayed when user clicks next button. This means only 100 records should be retrieved when user first select search criteria, next 100 records retrived when he clicks next button and so on, as to reduce data transferred from server to client. how to achieve this by using single sql query as soon as possible.

I've tried to use the apex_util.get_authentication_result on the login page to hide and show custom messages but it's not working. I don't believe the apex_util.get_authentication_result is actually obtaining the result?

After setting up a data entry page,The logic in my page requires that all the records in my tabular form should be displayed .The tabular form is based on a collection, and the user selects rows through a checkbox.Any reload of the page due to pagination will break the logic, as some calculation and display events occur during page load, based on the previous page.
I need to display about 25 rows.I have changed the report attribute to display 50 rows, but it displays rows only up to the bottom of the screen, i.e. 11 rows.
Unfortunately I only just added some new rows and saw this behaviour else I would not have gone that way, as I expected APEX to display all rows if required.
For one of our requirement, we are asked to provided data in below manner.

If a particular department has 10 employees it should have data upto emp_name_10,if department has only 5 employess it should data upto emp_name_5 and so on.I came up with below approach, in this approach I need to create new table to store the data in row wise.
In my actual requirement 4 tables needs to be joined and 2 of the tables are very large.Is there any other approach without creating a new table, something within pl/sql.

how to tune qurey for coulumn wise data saved.because we have to join same table n number of times.for reference go through the following scnarios.
Suppose one table T1 is there and it has two column KEY and VALUE.if we are writing qurey for retriving desire result in row manner we have to join samae table no of times.

In this manner we can join upto bestOverallUnknownComments .so which method we follow to reduce the execution time and performance should be good.
Need to create a report based on date ranges and for this created a interactive report and two page item datepicker fields P15_fromdate and p15_todate. Report works fine with this criteria.But user wants one more field quarter(P15_quarter), When they select the quarter the range values has to get reset and as to get applied to report.
Issue here is unable to find a way to set the page range item values based on the quarter field selection
how to reset the page item fields.
I have a payment table that has the ids of cds that has being sold in the past month. From there I want to make a demand wise report. I am aware of the report wizard in the oracle forms but I dont want to use it. Here are the tables in a bit more details.

1-i have exported a database 9i with character set WE8MSWIN1252 which is her original character set;
2- i have created a new database 10G R2 with character set AL32UTF8;

One issue I guess would be bind variable peeking while using application whereas executing from sqlplus is causing hard parsing and thus getting rid of "peeking"

I have created a form in which I have 2 canvases - content canvas and a tabbed canvas.
I have only 4 fields on the content canvas and the remaining on the tabbed canvas. My requirement is such that the tabbed canvas should appear below the content canvas when I run the form, i.e. the fields on the content canvas will be visible, and below them will be the tabbed canvas.
For the content canvas, I have set the viewportX and viewport Y position as (0,0), and for the tabbed canvas, I have set the viewportX and viewportY position as (0,100). However when I run the form, I only see the tabbed canvas and the area at the top where I should see the contents from the content canvas appear blank.
i am working with image. I have successfully stored image in oracle table. Now i want to display the stored image in oracle form 6i. There i unable to display the image although i have created the data block using the same table name as the data source.

All I want to do is run a procedure (DO_H_RUN) that returns a number into "v1" and then use that variable to return the result sets in three selects. This is all in TOAD. If I do not have a where clause, the code executes fine (allowing me to see the data in multiple Grid tabs)! But, I want to filter the rows.
I've tried doing a number of different things (finding all sorts of stuff on the Web) like declaring cursor variables and the like but after spinning on this for a couple of hours, I'm stuck.

In form i call a record from database table through execute_query. i have lov on ITEM_NO
i want to display on that form, no. of records of ITEM_NO which i select from the list. like if i have 10 records with item_no which i select from list is must show 1/10.
if i press the down arrow it should show next record of the same item_no.

S -- format mask display both sing + and -
MI -- format mask display negative sign at end
PR --Returns negative value in <angle brackets>. and Returns positive value with a leading and trailing blank.
I want the output should display only leading negative if the value is negative. I have used S99990.99 as format Mask. but need output should display only leading negative if the value is negative.
