I am using the Forms 10g Screen through Terminal Server. Some Time Its hang out the Scenario is. I am working Forms 10g Screen in Terminal Server and minimize the Remote terminal server for some minutes and get back to the Terminal Server and the Screen Got Freeze.
I need the IP address and/or Terminal name of the calling PC on CITRIX server. My application(forms) is installed on CITRIX and after calling of any form I want to check IP/Terminal in WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger.
I am trying to understand how to enable some audit so we can capture OEM logins as well.
Here is my setup. Lets say my DB that i am auditing is called audit_db (audit trail set to DB) sitting on host called host_db. and we have grid control agent on this box.now my grid control is as this. Lets say my OMS and repository is on host called OMS_host.
we run query aginst dba_audit_session to get info as to who tried failed login attemps and stuff.
Now to the part that is not working.
-- this is the good part When i intentionaly login to the audit_db with sqlplus client from my laptop with wrong username/password that is captured. we get the username,os_username,userhost,terminal.
here is the sample output
username is the wrong user that i tried to login as os_username is the my local username(ad account) userhost is my_laptop_name terminal is laptop_name
from above we can figure who was trying to login(failed).
-- this is the bad part But lets say i try to login to audit_db through grid control and use wrong username/password.that gets captured too(but not all of it). we get the username,os_username,userhost,terminal.
here is the sample output
username is the wrong user that i tried to login as os_username is the user of OMS repository db(oracle) userhost is oms_host terminal is unknown
Now with the above info, we cannot figure out who tried to login with bad login credential.
I have forms on application server. when i am running those forms on my local system, its working fine.but when i am trying to run those forms from server few of them are running and some are just blank with just default menu bar.for better understanding i will attached screen shot exactly how it looks.
We are unable to connect to Oracle 11.1.0.7.0 from Oracle Forms 4.5..However we are able to connect using Oracle forms 6i
Now Forms 4.5 is old and not supported, however apart from Tests I will need prove it to the higher ups...Do we have any link, document which will cover such compatibility issue?
Is it possible to hard code application server ip in oracle forms using plsql code. I am trying to open one form in my application but its giving me error as no data found. the application is using windows authentication. Unfortunately i don't have access to source code of the forms.
But i think there might be a possibility that application server/ db server ip might have hard coded in that forms so its may not be pointing to actual app server/db server.
I have a RAC environment with 3 nodes and application using Oracle Form Reports that access the database. Every day the application cause many locks on database when execute insert, update and delete. I don't understand why so much locks. Are there a way to avoid this? Always I have to eliminate session causing locks.
I am trying use host command in Oracle forms. I get the process id as input from the user and on clicking ok the form should kill the session related to process id.
PS: Users will be entering only frmweb.exe process id which are inactive.
cmd := 'CMD /C taskkill /F /FI /pid 'process which is got as input' /IM frmweb.exe'; host(cmd)I also tried by writing the above command into a .bat file in application server. When trying to execute the bat file it din work. But when tryin to run the bat file by double clicking in Application server the session was killed.
On executing the above I am unable to kill the process. I would also like to know whether the host command was successful or not. Orakill and alter session are working but I don want to use it.
I have a From which take Logical Backup through oracle export utility. This Form work fine when i Start OCJ4 but when i want to take backup after running oracle Forms & Report services its not take backup.
My Question is dose Oracle Forms & Report Services (Standalone) Support data backup through Export (exp) utility. I have install Oracle Forms and Report Services (Standalone) on Window XP (SP-3).
i am trying to install Oracle 10.10.2.0 on Windows Server 2003 standard x64 Edition Service Pack, but when i try to run the installer or open DVD it gives me below error.
"The image file D: is Valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine."
I was trying to delete the database in the test server. When i was deleting listener was already stopped, i continued deleting using dbca, it shown me some alert that datafiles cant be deleted because system could't find database, since listner was stopped so only service was deleted(the one showing in the windows administrator toolsservicesOracleServiceTEST).
All the datafile parameter files are still there. How can i delete the datafiles and parameter files belongs to that database or how to create the deleted service, so that i will start the listener and do the complete deleting of the database.
working on setting up connection between a Windows 2008 server and a pair of Oracle 11g DBs in a RAC Cluster. One Database (let's say DatabaseA) is in one data center, and the other (DatabaseB) is an a secondary, backup database. The RAC Cluster is all set up, working fine, etc. However, I Need to set up the machine.config file on my Windows Server, to go only connect to DatabaseA, unless it fails, in which case, we want it to connect to DatabaseB. Think we could do this if the host app server was Linux/Unix, but it is windows, and I just don't have the background as to the parameters to set up in the machine.config file. They are similar, but different, and we want a very specific behavior (use DatabaseA, unless fails, then DatabaseB). Application is .NET 4.0 app.
I have installed Oracle server and SQL Server on separate machines which cause me a time delay of 21 seconds for each execution. Why executions delay? I have set RPC out (true).
Note: My main concern is either if the query is correct/incorrect it executes for 21 seconds._
Another case when I have both servers on the same machine it executes in milliseconds. I have tried Following methods in SQL SERVER.
*1, Using OPENQUERY:* SELECT * From OPENQUERY(Linked Server Name,’Select * from OracleTableName ‘)
*2, Using Exec:* DECLARE @sql NVARCHAR(MAX); SET @sql =(’Select * from OracleTableName ‘); EXEC (@sql) AT Linked Server Name ;
How to reduce the time delay caused for the execution?
I will have to proceed with Oracle 9 database refresh from production server to integration server. 5 biggest schemas must be exported and imported. They constitute 97% space used in a database. This is very big database so I would like to be sure that everything will go smoothly. That is why i want to ask you some questions.
Have you got any clues for me before I start with exp/imp? From my side i will tell you that I will have to exp/imp schema by schema because there is small space both on production and integration disk for a dump. First thing I thought are dependencies between schemas that are exported and that which are not, and also between schemas that are exported/imported one by one.
This is procedure that I plan:
For every schema that is to be refreshed { 1. Export schema with ROWS=N CONSTRAINTS=Y 2. EXPORT schema with ROWS=y CONSTRAINTS=N 3. Import schema from step one 4. Disable all the foreign key constraints using ALTER TABLE DISABLE CONSTRAINT. 5. Import schema with rows } ALTER TABLE ENABLE CONSTRAINT
With above procedure i think that I will avoid problems with dependencies between schemas exported/imported one by one. But my concern is if there are any dependencies between those schemas and schemas that are not exported. Is there an way to check it before refresh ?
I am trying to find the unix process for one of my application in the database but I am unable to view the same. To simulate, I did the following.
1. My database runs on different server. 2. I invoked "sqlplus" from another unix box to login to the database. 3. I found that the process id (ps -ef |grep sqlplus). 4. When I execute the below mentioned query it does not display the process id that I am looking for. But the osuser, username, program and machine details are correct. How can I know the process details from the database?
SELECT SYS.GV_$SESSION.OSUSER, SYS.GV_$SESSION.USERNAME, SYS.GV_$PROCESS.SPID, SYS.GV_$SESSION.MACHINE, SYS.GV_$SESSION.PROGRAM, SYS.GV_$PROCESS.PROGRAM ,SYS.GV_$SESSION.SQL_ID FROM SYS.GV_$PROCESS, SYS.GV_$SESSION WHERE SYS.GV_$PROCESS.ADDR=SYS.GV_$SESSION.PADDR and SYS.GV_$SESSION.USERNAME='TEST' and SYS.GV_$SESSION.MACHINE like '%hostname%'
I want to install Oracle 11g R2 in windows 2008 64 bit server. How can I know whether my server is ready to install Oracle ie is all components are available in server or any patch is to be applied etc.
I'm trying to connect a oracle client application on the client machine to a remote oracle server on the server machine but i get a connection fail.
On the server machine I configured oracle server in the following way:
Installed oracle server. Created a database "DB_Test" with the database configuration assistant Created a LISTNER with the Oracle NET Manager with the following parameter:
Protocol: TCP/IP HOST: server pc hostname (ENZOVAIO) or server machine address ip (192.168.0.71) in the network lan Port Number: 1521 Created "dbtest" service with the Oracle NET Manager with with the following parameter: Service Name: "dbtest" Protocol: TCP/IP HOST: server pc hostname (ENZOVAIO) or server machine address ip (192.168.0.71) in the network lan Port Number: 1521
All services on the server machine are running and I opened port number (1521) in the router. On the client machine I installed SQL PLUS and SQL Developer.
With SQL Plus as by the official documentation I have entered the following command:
CONNECT username/password@[//]host[:port][/service_name]. In my case is: CONNECT SYSTEM/oracledb@//ENZOVAIO:1521/testdb.
With SQL Developer I have entered the same parameter.
But with both SQLPlus and SQL Developer the connection fails.
We performed image copy of production Oracle server (OS and instances) to a backup server. After a few weeks, we try to restore a latest Oracle database backup from production server to backup server. As we know, Oracle instance must be unique on the network.
Even we log on to backup server and bring up the instance, I think that still point to production instance since all init file, TNSNAMES.ora and listener file are still same. If we restore the database, we will end up bring down the production instance and restore on top of productions. How to change instance name on backup server including TNSNAMES, sqlnet, listener files in order for us to restore Oracle database from production to backup server?
I recently installed Oracle 10g on my windows Xp laptop. It has become considerably slow since then. I want to start the database server only when I need it, and not every time I start my laptop. I looked around in OEM and did found a way.
