I have a server with Red Hat EL 5.5 running an oracle database 10g R2 and an Oracle Agent 10.2.0.5The disk ran out of space and I realized that there are a lot of files stating with core.xxx such as :
-rw------- 1 gridagent oinstall 17M Aug 2 13:10 core.10348 -rw------- 1 gridagent oinstall 17M Aug 2 13:15 core.10827 -rw------- 1 gridagent oinstall 17M Aug 2 12:30 core.4129 -rw------- 1 gridagent oinstall 17M Aug 2 12:35 core.4772
What's that ?Why are those files generated at $AGENT_HOME/<HOST>_<SID>/sysman/log/ ?
There are more than 24 GB of those files
in nmc.log I can see lines such as: NMC-00000 2010-08-02 13:25:39 [11760, nmcdbg.c,0440]TRC: Debug context enabled. NMC-20020 2010-07-30 01:31:58 [23083, nmccole.c,0725]ERR: Could not collect using DSGA Collection method NMC-20014 2010-07-29 01:31:56 [11258, nmccole.c,0822]ERR: Could not attach to the SGA

We have the Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10.2.0.5. We recently upgraded our Databases from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4 and since then we are having this problem.
Whenever i click an Agent on the Grid Control it gives me this error: "Communication between the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host is unavailable. Any functions or displayed information requiring this communication link will be unavailable. For example: deleting/configuring/adding targets, uploading metric data, or displaying Agent home page information such as Agent to Management Service Response Time (ms)."
I get the same error when i try to configure a host or a database.
My problem is i install Oracle 9i enterprise edition 9.0.1.1.1 in windows xp professional but at the time of oracle database confiuration assistent it show me following errors it show:
I am having a database running in my windows 2003 server and I want to configure Enterprise manager for that database to check the resource utilization during the peak hours and also the number of transactions...
i have already give the grant option cnnect, resource to scott but it is not connecting to enter prise manager console of Oracle database 11gR1. i am getting this error while connecting "The application requires more database privileges than you have currently been granted. Click on Help to get more version specific information"
when i am giving scott the dba rights then it is connecting. but i cann't give dba rights to scott.so, how/what is the specific command to give permission scott for connecting to enter prise manager console.
I suddenly started getting this error message "Error
java.lang.Exception: IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connect ". on the dbconsole of my database. Any clue where to proceed or how to find whats causing this error.
I have installed Oracle 11g R2 on the RHEL 5 platform. Once the installtion is complete we need to run two scripts: 1: orainstRoot.sh 2: root.sh
As the root user. When we run the root.sh script is ask us to overwrite three variables yes/no? we did yes. After Running these scripts we opened the database, tried to run listner as well, everything is running fine but when we are trying to run the Emterprise Manager using command:
emctl start dbconsole
we are prompted with a path to check the logs /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/localhost_orcl11g/sysman/log
I do not know which file I have to check. What could be the reason we are not able to run the EM.I need it urgently as we ahve to generate the AWR reports for the client.
i have installed oracle 10g. but not able to start the Enterprise Manager, i am getting the error when ever i enter the url in the browser (//home:5560/ isql plus) .
is Oracle Corporation provides Enterprise console for 11g, like oracle provides Enter prise console for 10g through which we can view/create/manage all the objects like tables, views, functions and procedures etc.
is there a way to export/download graphs that are shown on Oracle Enterprise Manager? I tried to find some buttons that make it possibile, but I'm unable to find them...
While connecting my oracle with My JDBC driver . i got an SQLException:
public class Orajdbc { public static void main(String args[]) { try { Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"); Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection [code]......
i am successfully connected by type 1 odbc driver but while i want to connect it with "ojdbc6.jar" file then i got this exception i already added that jar file to my Environment variable ClASSPATH ..
I have just downloaded Oracle 11g from the Oracle website. How do I start enterprise manager?
but once I get away from UNIX I don't have a clue what I am doing. What are the windows bits. I go to the oracle bin directory from a dos window and enter emctl commands, and I get "emctl" is not recognised as an ibternal or external command.
When looking at some of the metrics available in OEM, I am puzzled by the interpretation:
1) Using the Host tab, and load metrics, I can get a metric for the Total I/O for the host .. I assume this is IOPS.
2) Using the Database tab, and the instance_throughput physreads_pc metric I can get a metric for the Physical Reads from the database instance per second.
3) We generally have several Oracle instances on the same server, and in all cases, the sum of the physical reads for each database is SIGNIFICANTLY higher that the total i/o for the host.
Am I interpreting the information incorrectly ? Does one of the metrics consider db_block_size ?
When i try to login into em it always give - [URL]... dba role is granted to the user and i have verified the passoword . I even tried with system user and it gave me same error.
