View 12 Replies View RelatedWe have the Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10.2.0.5. We recently upgraded our Databases from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4 and since then we are having this problem.
Whenever i click an Agent on the Grid Control it gives me this error: "Communication between the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host is unavailable. Any functions or displayed information requiring this communication link will be unavailable. For example: deleting/configuring/adding targets, uploading metric data, or displaying Agent home page information such as Agent to Management Service Response Time (ms)."
I get the same error when i try to configure a host or a database.
Don't know what is wrong
My problem is i install Oracle 9i enterprise edition 9.0.1.1.1 in windows xp professional but at the time of oracle database confiuration assistent it show me following errors it show:

How to start EM on windows 7?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI suddenly started getting this error message "Error
java.lang.Exception: IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connect ". on the dbconsole of my database. Any clue where to proceed or how to find whats causing this error.
I have installed Oracle 11g R2 on the RHEL 5 platform. Once the installtion is complete we need to run two scripts:
1: orainstRoot.sh
2: root.sh
As the root user. When we run the root.sh script is ask us to overwrite three variables yes/no? we did yes. After Running these scripts we opened the database, tried to run listner as well, everything is running fine but when we are trying to run the Emterprise Manager using command:
emctl start dbconsole
we are prompted with a path to check the logs
/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/localhost_orcl11g/sysman/log
I do not know which file I have to check. What could be the reason we are not able to run the EM.I need it urgently as we ahve to generate the AWR reports for the client.
is Oracle Corporation provides Enterprise console for 11g, like oracle provides Enter prise console for 10g through which we can view/create/manage all the objects like tables, views, functions and procedures etc.

How to find port number of my Oracle Service?
I have just downloaded Oracle 11g from the Oracle website. How do I start enterprise manager?
but once I get away from UNIX I don't have a clue what I am doing. What are the windows bits. I go to the oracle bin directory from a dos window and enter emctl commands, and I get "emctl" is not recognised as an ibternal or external command.
When looking at some of the metrics available in OEM, I am puzzled by the interpretation:
1) Using the Host tab, and load metrics, I can get a metric for the Total I/O for the host .. I assume this is IOPS.
2) Using the Database tab, and the instance_throughput physreads_pc metric I can get a metric for the Physical Reads from the database instance per second.
3) We generally have several Oracle instances on the same server, and in all cases, the sum of the physical reads for each database is SIGNIFICANTLY higher that the total i/o for the host.
Am I interpreting the information incorrectly ? Does one of the metrics consider db_block_size ?
When i try to login into em it always give - [URL]... dba role is granted to the user and i have verified the passoword . I even tried with system user and it gave me same error.

Examine and correct the following errors, then retry the operation:Host Credentials - Connection to host as user system failed: ERROR: Wrong password for user

I saw this thread:[URL]....
and checked to see if I could start:[URL]........
using Firefox 8.0 and found that I was "unable to connect". I found that although my OracleDBConsoleorcl service was set to automatic, it was not started. So, I attempted to start it from the Windows services menu, but received a message that Windows could not start it and it said to see the System Event Log. So, I checked the Windows System Event Log and found:
"The OracleDBConsoleorcl service terminated with service-specific error The system cannot find the file specified."but it does not tell me the name of the file or directory path. So, where do I go from here? I did not want to hijack the other thread, so I started a new one, especially since the original poster was able to start this service. Is there a different way to try to start the service that might provide more information?
I have been using this installation for a long time and seem to remember this working once upon a time, but I could be wrong. I don't usually use Enterprise Manager, so this is not something critical, just a curiosity, and something that I might like to explore. I have provided version and system info below.

'Windows could not start the oracledbconsoleorcl on Local computer. For more information, view the system event log. If this is a non-Microsoft services, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 2.'
In the event log the following error messages are displayed:The OracleDBConsoleorcl service terminated with service-specific error 2 (0x2). and
The OracleCSService service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

My application consists of Oracle RAC and Oracle Enterprise Manage (OEM) on same two nodes. I am exploring the idea of utilizing Oracle Clusterware (which is already installed with Oracle RAC) to support OEM in active passive mode.
Here is the scenario.
Node A running Solaris 10.9 on SPARC and Node B running Solaris 10.9 on SPARC.
Node A and Node B are both Oracle RAC Nodes ( Active Active ) which use Shared Storage for Oracle using ASM.
Node A and Node B will run Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Application in active passive scenario which will be using Oracle RAC for its database. So, both Oracle RAC and OEM are sharing same server A and B for its clusters.
Now, OEM application need a third party clusterware to fail it over. It needs clusterware to provide floating VIP and shared folder of the size of 20GB which will keep software libraries. If node A goes down, node B have access to same libraries and will come up as active.
Do you know if oracle clusterware which comes with Oracle RAC can support OEM for failing over i.e. it can provide floating VIP and shared file system?
know whether i can see anywhere all executed Statements in my DB (Deletes, Updates...)?
perhaps in a particular table or in Oracle Enterprise Manager?
