SQL & PL/SQL :: How To Combine Queries When WITH Clause Is Used

Jun 21, 2010

I have 4 select queries.

Query1
Query2
Query3
Query4

First Step:Combine Query1 and Query2,but the requirement is Query2 should only use the Acct_ID and Bill_ID which are output from Query1.

Second Step:Combine Query3 and Query4,but the requirement is Query4 should only use the Acct_ID and Bill_ID which are output from Query3.

Third Step: Is to now combine both the data set from First Step and Second Step.

In order to achieve my First and Second Steps I used WITH clause.

With S1 as ( Query1 ),
S2 as ( Query1 Union Query2)
Select S2.* from S1,S2
where S1.ACCT_ID=S2.ACCT_ID
AND S1.BILL_ID=S2.BILL_ID

With S3 as ( Query3 ),
S4 as ( Query3 Union Query4)
Select S2.* from S3,S4
where S3.ACCT_ID=S4.ACCT_ID
AND S3.BILL_ID=S4.BILL_ID

1. Is that approach right for achieving my First and Second step requirements ?

2. How to achieve Third Step ?

SQL & PL/SQL :: Record Of Last Executed Queries

Sep 15, 2010

I have some troubles when I try to retrieve last executed queries in a database.

For example;

I run the script below:

select distinct t.first_load_time, t.sql_text, t.last_load_time, s.username
from v_$sql t, v$session s
where s.username='SYS'

And as a result, I retrieve the queries executed by SYS user. But the problem is that, if SYS user executed the same query more than once,
only the very first record is shown.

It is like this,

SYS user executes "select * from table_abc" at 10:54:35, and after that SYS executes the same query at 13:45:55. and after running
the query above, I can only see the record which was executed at 10:54:35. I need to see the both results.

PL/SQL :: Queries Executed By A Session

Jul 11, 2012

I am trying to trace the SQL statements executed against a particular database user. I don't have AUDITING enabled and I am using Oracle 11g.I have the following query :

SELECT
S.MODULE,
SQL_TEXT ,
S.EXECUTIONS
FROM
[code].....

But if multiple users running the 'APP.EXE' are connected to the same db user, I am not able to understand which OS user executed which query. So I tried to join with V$SESSION view to get the user details.

SELECT
S.MODULE,SQL_TEXT ,SN.OSUSER, SN.MACHINE, S.EXECUTIONS
FROM
SYS.V_$SQL S,
SYS.ALL_USERS U,
V$SESSION SN
WHERE
S.PARSING_USER_ID=U.USER_ID
AND UPPER(U.USERNAME) IN ('USERNAME')
AND (UPPER(S.MODULE)='APP.EXE')
AND S.SQL_ID=SN.SQL_ID
ORDER BY S.LAST_LOAD_TIME

But this doesn't seems to be working(In my case it didn't return any rows) I have also tried the following

select S.SQL_TEXT,S.MODULE,S.EXECUTIONS,SN.OSUSER,SN.MACHINE,SN.SID, U.username,U.user_id from
SYS.V_$SQL S, v$open_cursor oc,SYS.ALL_USERS U,V$SESSION SN
where S.PARSING_USER_ID=U.USER_ID
AND UPPER(U.USERNAME) IN ('USERNAME')
AND (UPPER(S.MODULE)='APP.EXE')
and oc.SQL_ID=s.SQL_ID AND SN.SID=OC.SID AND SN.SADDR=OC.SADDR;

but I am not sure whether this is giving the right results. So, I have the following questions

1) How do I get the queries executed by each session?

2) The EXECUTIONS column of V_$SQL seems to the executions from all the sessions. How do I know the number of times a particular query is executed by a session?

3) How long a record about a query will be stored in V_$SQL? When do Oracle delete it from the view?

While there's numerous QAs about inserting an image into the DB using the Data Block, how does one remove an image? Obviously there's the "UPDATE ... SET X = EMPTY_BLOB();", however, that kills the Data Block/Form's flow, and it doesn't update.

I've tried a few things:

* :CONTROL.IMG1 := NULL; (bad bind variable)
* :CONTROL.IMG1 := EMPTY_BLOB(); (some other error, probably as above)

Moving Trace Files To Archive Location?

Aug 20, 2012

I am using Oracle RAC 11gR2.I am planing to move my old trace files to an archive location.

I have the below questions concerning the users and groups used by Oracle RAC when moving the trace files.It is related to the permissions but it is about oracle behavior.

The trace files of database (oracle user) are created as below:

284 -rw-r-----    1 oracle   asmadmin     283571 Aug 20 18:08 PPRD1_mmon_13893716.trc
   4 -rw-r-----    1 oracle   asmadmin        125 Aug 20 18:10 PPRD1_gcr0_11730998.trm
   4 -rw-r-----    1 oracle   asmadmin       2833 Aug 20 18:10 PPRD1_gcr0_11730998.trc
580 -rw-r-----    1 oracle   asmadmin     588489 Aug 20 18:12 PPRD1_lmhb_15859792.trm

[code]....

when moving the files using the oracle user it will be created as oracle:oinstall and not oracle:asmadmin since asmadmin is not a group of the oracle user.

1. How oracle created my trace and log files with permission oracle:asmadmin?

2. How should I move these files? I moved it using the Oracle user and it was created as oracle:oinstall with Operating system error "unable to duplicate owner and mode after move"

How To Confirm Order Of Data In Results Of Two Sql Queries

Feb 9, 2009

I want to confirm the order of the data in results of two sql queries.

For example, in my table 5 columns are there.c1 to c5.

c1 c2 c3 c4 c5
--------------------------------------------------
test100 1 A 1-Jan-2006 2-Jan-2006
test100 2 B 3-jan-2006 4-Jan-2006
test101 1 A 01-Jan-2006 2-Jan-2006
test101 2 B 03-Jan-2006 4-Jan-2006
test101 3 c 05-Jan-2006 06-Jan-2006

In this table if you order by c2,

select c3
from tab1
where c1='test101'
order by c2;

c3
---------
A
B
C

If you order by c4,

select c1,c2,c3
from tab1
where c1='test101'
order by c4;

c3
------
A
B
C

Sometimes order of these data may change like. the result of the 2nd query may change (bcos of c4 date column changes)

C3
--
A
C
B

So,@ run time i want to check the order of these 2 results should match....if not,i need to display the corresponding c1 column.

SQL & PL/SQL :: Result Order In 2 Table Joins Without Order By

Sep 6, 2011

I have below tables,

describe rpthead

Name Null Type
--------------------------- -------- -------------
RPTNO NOT NULL NUMBER
RPTDATE NOT NULL DATE
RPTD_BY NOT NULL VARCHAR2(25)
PRODUCT_ID NOT NULL NUMBER

describe rptbody

Name Null Type
------------- -------- -------------
RPTNO NOT NULL NUMBER
LINENO NOT NULL NUMBER
COMMENTS VARCHAR2(240)
UPD_DATE DATE

The fact is that we store some header in RPTHEAD and store real data in RPTBODY, the question is that if I use below SQL to query all data for a 'PRODUCT_ID'.

SELECT t0.LINENO, t0.COMMENTS, t0.RPTNO, t0.UPD_DATE
FROM RPTBODY t0 , RPTHEAD rpthead
WHERE
(
t0.RPTNO = rpthead.RPTNO
AND
t0.UPD_DATE>=to_date('1970/01/01 00:00:00','YYYY/MM/DD hh24:mi:ss')
AND
rpthead.PRODUCT_ID IN ('4647')
)

I do not want to have 'ORDER by' clause since data set is too large, the sorting takes long time, is there any way to get the result rows in the order sorted by RPTNO? We have the index for RPTNO on RPTBODY.

Aggregate Function - Combine Results

Nov 24, 2009

I have a query more or less like this:

SELECT field1,
COUNT(x) AS COUNT
FROM my_table
GROUP BY field1;

For field1 I want to get a count, but if field1 is like 'ABC%' then I want to combine all of those.

So if I have the following:
ABC1 | 5
ABC2 | 10
XYZ1 | 3

I want results like this:
ABC | 15
XYZ1 | 3

I've tried using some case statements like

SELECT CASE
WHEN field1 LIKE 'ABC%' THEN
'ABC'
ELSE
field1
END AS field1,
COUNT(x) AS COUNT
FROM my_table
GROUP BY CASE
WHEN field1 LIKE 'ABC%' THEN
'ABC'
ELSE
field1
END;

but this just gives me
ABC | 5
ABC | 10
XYZ1 | 3

How can I combine record 1 and 2 from the last record set example above?

Combine Tables With Union But Limit Number Of Records?

Sep 13, 2007

Updated to Add: In a last ditch search, I found my answer with ROWNUM <= 1 in the Where clause. It works and I can go from there with what I want to do.

No problems, and I do get program.c.

However in windows I get the previous error message. I have tried to do proc include=/user/include program.pc and proc include=/user/include parse=full program.pc but I still get the same error message.
