Some trace files were deleted with rm command. Obviously they were active and now the free space does not free up (over 9GB). How can this be fixed without database interruption?

Sysaux Tablespace is running low. WE SET AWR RETENTION TIME=60 DAYS. WE ARE NOT INTEREST TO EXTEND SYSAUX TABLESPACE SIZE.
Usually we take AWR weekly once. Some times we did ADDM report and ASH.

Query of dba_free_space showed no change on data tablespace. However, index tablespace showed increase in free space.

I've installed GI 11.2.0.3 on AIX 7.1.And today I noticed strange ASM's behavior:

Im a oracle pl/sql developer but I didnt learn oracle as a language. With my sql skills I started working on Oracle.In my project every table has an associated MLOG$ table for it.
For eg.

So is MLOG$_TEST oracle's internal table.
Whenever an insert/update/delete happens it is recorded in MLOG$ tables as I/U/D for the priamry key.So if I do a bulk delete of records in tables an entry is made into MLOG$ tables. So deleting old records in a database doesn't free much space.If this is oracle internal table is it advisable to delete from MLOG$ tables too.
My oracle database is mounted on the Linux server.If I delete bulk records in tables from which path I can see how much space is freed.
try to evaluate it as IMDB cache.I am facing this error repeatedly. I have increased perm size from 6.25 GB to 10 GB.After inserting about 460.000 rows I get the error again. Is it possible that 460.000 rows need 3.75 GB space?
In Oracle database these rows occupy about 200 MB space.
un-documented parameter _trace_files_public / I want to set this to true so my app team can review trace files. better way to proceed to open read permissions for non oracle users.

I have the below questions concerning the users and groups used by Oracle RAC when moving the trace files.It is related to the permissions but it is about oracle behavior.
The trace files of database (oracle user) are created as below:

when moving the files using the oracle user it will be created as oracle:oinstall and not oracle:asmadmin since asmadmin is not a group of the oracle user.
1. How oracle created my trace and log files with permission oracle:asmadmin?
2. How should I move these files? I moved it using the Oracle user and it was created as oracle:oinstall with Operating system error "unable to duplicate owner and mode after move"
We have Oracle 10g(10.2.0.4) RAC on AIX 5.3, there are 3 RAC instances on each node.From Oct 9th, we found one of the instance in node 1 generated a large size trace files in udump. The largest size of the trace file take up 3G. But there's only about 15G $ORACLE_BASE direcotry. After some time, we should delete some trace files for releasing the space.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am making incremental backups via RMAN, the backups are staying at disk. And the infrastructure team will copy this files backups to tape. And they want delete the files that will staying in disk via RMAN. Until now it's ok.
But and if I need of backups that stay on tape, it's possible make a recovery of deleted files by rman.
I am getting starting with rac environments. I need to configure a two nodes active/active with rac and I need to know if always using rac both nodes will be active or if I have to do that at some point when installing. I have written make files that compile .pc files in unix. This was for several projects that use an oralib source code directory.Just running proc on one target .pc file works fine on unix. I am trying to use proc - Oracle 10.2.0 - in windows and I keep getting:

and other C library headers.
I am doing all development under cygwin, this way I can write a makefile just like under unix instead of using nmake.All C library headers are in /usr/include When I run proc on Solaris as that:
proc program.pc
No problems, and I do get program.c.
However in windows I get the previous error message. I have tried to do proc include=/user/include program.pc and proc include=/user/include parse=full program.pc but I still get the same error message.
