I had a query that if the ftp service is enabled on a RHEL server, then, why is the right-click on the URL which is like:
ftp://10.101.18.19
does not yield a save-as box? But if I do a ftp to the server like
ftp <server_name>
the mget for a file works.I hope my query is clear that the file cannot be downloaded from the URL but a command line ftp for the file works.revert with the reply to my query.
I was a very contented software tester with SQLPlus skills when I had access to the classic version. I guess all things must come to an end as we have started seeing our systems under test migrate to 11g...and along comes the DOS prompt SQL*Plus.
Where I could previously ignore the cries that TOAD was better, I no longer have my right-click copy/paste option, and I don't know alot about the DOS prompt command line.
Our test lab administrator would like us to start working with SQL Developer for our testing needs...I am guessing because it installs automatically with the database. I read TOAD has a bit more functionality at this point(correct?)
What is better for a general database user with background of classic SQL Plus- the dos prompt SQL Plus or the more visual SQL developer?
I would like to ask a very small question. what is the code that should be written to open a picture inside the button.
I have already made the button, and the trigger is when push button, what I want is when I click the button it opens a picture in this directory:

When I click on a column header, e.g order by, does the query execute again with "order by" clause or use the same execution plan and give me fast result?

I want to link to blocks using description as there is no relation , for example i have two tables with one field in common called description, and i want to link this field in two tables using like operator.

I would like to know if with Oracle Forms Builder 11g, we can use mouse instead of TAB to validate record? And why Forms Builder use TAB or ENTER Key to validate record? I have a SAVE button, but i want to replace the TAB navigation validation by the mouse click. Is it possible?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have one NUMBER field with size 15. I have set format mask 999,999,999,999,999 on this field. This is formatting the data I am entering in that field. But the problem is if I enter a value in that field and moves to another field. And if I want to edit the previous field again I have to keep the cursor at the left end of the value.
For example I enter 3,000 in the field. If I want to edit the field again, I have to edit it from left like 1,233,000. I cannot edit it at the end(like 3,000,123).
Even I can click anywhere in that field where I have the format mask. check the screen shot in the attachment. In the red square, you can find a value with space in between.
I am working in apex 4.2.1.
I'm having an odd problem with a checkbox on a tabular form. I created the checkbox by setting hte display as to "Simple Checkbox". The value of the underlying column sets to "Y" wehn checked and "N" when unchecked. This is what I want. The next thing I was trying to accomplish is to call a javascript function when the checkbox is clicked. So I put onclick="calculateTotal(this);" in the element attributes field. The code that it is calling is listed below. When I run the app and check the box I can seee I am entering the calculate Total function. Each of the alert functions is displaying what I would expect until I get to alerts 'IAH5' and 'IAH6'. For each of those I get an "undefined" in the alert.
So to see if this had something to do with the checkbox and added an onchange="calculateTotal(this);" to another field in my tabular form and ran it. This time I did not click on the checkbox but went into the field that I put the onchange on. When I changed this field and navigated away from it the function worked as I would expect. It displayed the appropriate values for each of the alerts and updated the fields on the screen as designed.

I am trying to investigate my execution plans against my DB; and was informed i can check current status of SQL scripts using:
Performance tab > SQL Monitoring > Monitored SQL Executions
I click on SQL ID i want to investigate and comes back with blank screen instead of the overview tab.

i have field in DB that taken ( 1 or 2 or 3 ) am added it as text item at first and then change it to ( radio group ) contain 3 radio as :
value for first 1 = 1 , = 2 , = 3 and mapping = 1
initial value for the group = 1
but when am working with the form and commit form there is no data add in this field when am change the radio value by click on any other on ( 2 or 3 ) it's saved no problem in it ..
why this thing happen coz i need to set the first radio as default for the form .
I created Main Menu form and in this form I attached popup menu in picture's property problem is that when i right click on this picture then show the popup menu .I want when I click left click then it should show the popup menu.

I am working on form builder 6i.I have FIND widnows and MAIN window.
FIND Window: contains field1 and field2, FIND Button.
block A: Multi record data block on table t1. It contains field1,field2,field3.
block B: non datablock, it contains field4, field5.
If i enter something and click FIND button, it will populate data in Block A.If i put the cursor in any record in block A, and after that put the cursor in Block B, it will populate block B related to Block A record.For this, In Block A--> post record(block level) trigger, i am capturing values in variables.

for that i used when-tab-page-change trigger for first record display and it display correctly.but for further record what should i need to write on next_record command button so all record i can see one by one.
I am using APEX 4.1 to build the application. I have 2 select list region in the page where one region consist of certain values.On calling a javascript function it is able to move the value from one select region to another. After this I click on the modify button where in the value move out of the first select list region to the second will be updated in the table.
Although I could see the values are not being updates. On putting alerts after the value being fetched in the javascript function and clicking the Modify button I can see that no data is being reflected in the alert. Hence the data is not being passed from the second select list APEX item to the javascript function.
I have a requirement wherein onclick of button I want to open/close list/popup (which is displayed below button, just like in select list) and can select any item from list to do some action.

In Sales Order Form there is a print receipt button. In current situation On Clicking the 'Print Receipt Button' it submits a XML Publisher report(PDF output) to the concurrent manager. Currently to print that report i need to go view--> requests--> view output and then print. According to my new Requirement i need to print that report directly to local printer on one simple Print receipt button click in form.
I am trying to call the printers on server using custom.pll. The report is running successfully but it is not printing output to the local printer. I need to print the report to the local printers based on responsibility. Local printers are available on apps server.
Is it possible to print the document using custom.pll? Is there any other alternative to print the report on simple button click in form.
I searched many forums but i found customizations on form level. I am trying to customize the form using custom.pll. I found many examples like URL..... but i don't think i can use these practices in custom.pll. ADD_PARAMETER & RUN_PRODUCT dont work in custom.pll. I need to complete this requirement immediately.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a report that contains a name that I want to pass in to a field in a form on a different region on the same page. My button located on the report is has its own column called ADD_LINK. Here is the button.

Once that button is clicked, I have the form region fade in. The region is called Add Tag to Employee, which has P4_ROWID, P4_EMPLOYEE_ID, and P4_TAG_ID. Once the region is displayed, I want the #NAME# to show in the P4_EMPLOYEE_ID.
I did copy this form from another page, where I had it working before. It made more sense to move it to this page for interface purposes, so maybe that tidbit will work as well.
My configuration is
APEX 4.2 on Windows XP with APEX Listnere on Glassfish 3.1.2 Open Source Server Edition.

Let me explain the scenario which is not working.A Modal region which is having a file browse item based on WWV_FLOW_FILES and a button called add file.
When I click on add file it display a blank page and in the URL I could see [URL]...But actually it inserted file in the table.
I have put wwv_flow* in Listener Configuration for allowed procedures.I have another page where I have a page item which is based on BLOB column specified in item source attribute. And that is inserting file and displaying the pages correctly.
