View 5 RepliesNot able to understand what's wrong with the code. I am trying to import data to a table using a CSV file. I have exported the data (CSV) from the interactive report and I am just trying to insert the same data to the table, through a process. When, I tried to do so; its throwing an error message saying NO_DATA_FOUND and file is not getting inserted into wwv_flow_files table.
But when I removed the data from the CSV file for the comments field and then tried importing the file, the process worked. I don't understand whats the problem with the code.
I have a sample app setup in my workspace for this weird problem.

In my apex application needs to import data files, through end users. The fields in this file are not separated by any character (structure is not classic CSV), but have a fixed width.
How to do?
Scenario 1:
import file to a temporary table with a blob column, create a trigger for this table via a PL / SQL code meet end table

View 1 Replies View RelatedI needed to create a page on my existing APEX application that would allow the user to upload a file, I followed an online tutorial where the user had created a dummy table and inserted CSV File inserted through APEX into the table. Following that simple example I am able to load the simple CSV file (from tutorial) into a dummy table (from tutorial) but when I attempt to insert actual/dummy data into my actual database (which has a lot more fields of different types), using the exact same process, I am unable to do so.
Ironically, I am unable to insert even dummy values despite the fact that I have been able to insert the same dummy values using SQL Developer. Icing on the cake is that APEX does not produce any error, this lack of debugging feature (especially line by line debugging) is such a pain. Just to add, I can load the values into an Array and can successfully print the delimited values off the array but am still unable to insert the same values into my table. Here is the table that I am attempting to insert into (actual names replaced by Dummyxx):

If I run a process to produce the output of the data array onto the screen, the values displayed are in the pattern desired.
Inserting Dummy values instead of values from the Array (v_data_array) to test

Note that all the the CSV does not contain all the fields, the CSV files that are expected to be entered into the system contain 65 Fields whereas the Table has 73 Fields. Also note that the process runs fine through SQL loader that is invoked through a different server which I need to release and hence the attempt to load the table this way. Also, the procedure on the SQL Loader server is quite complex and involved JAVA+Unix Shell Scripts etc. which I would prefer to avoid.
Each time when I import an application into my workspace in local 10g XE using the APEX 4.2 Application Builder, I get the "ORA-02291, constraint wwv_flows_fk violated..". The application I whant to import was originally exported from [URL]. I found out, that it has to to with wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id in the installation script, which obviously returns NULL and not my current workspace id as I suppose it should. I replaced wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id by '<my worskspace id>' and then the import does work.
View 0 Replies View RelatedI have encountered a series issue with importing applications into apex 4.2 with apex listener 2.0. Actually I have two stacks one is Apex 4.2 on Oracle 11g XE with apex listener 2.0 running in Stand alone mode and the other one is apex 4.2 on Oracle 11g standard edition with apex listener running on glassfish server. In both, I tried to import an application either from an earlier version (4.1) or an application exported from the same version and same workspace.
In apex 4.2 on Oracle 11g standard edition running on listener 2.0 with GF, even though I select the file to be uploaded again and again, after clicking next, it keeps on saying the error "File must be selected to uploaded".
In the other stack with Oracle XE, it throws an error page from apex listener "500 - Internal Server Error".
Not sure that its an issue with APEX 4.2? if so it would be a great disappointment. Is there any specific configuration needed to be done on apex 4.2 or apex listener?
I imported my application that i've been developing in 4.1 into 4.2 apex.oracle. I didn't realize it's only forward compatible so when I tried to import back to 4.1, i wasn't able to.
Is there any way I can import the app back to apex 4.1?
I'm looking for a solution to hyperlink to a local file (i.e. C:/test.txt). I want that the user clicks on a "browse file" button like the file browse item. after the user selected a file or just a folder the path should be shown in a display only item. this item should be clickable...

I want to load data to a table and from a simple file text, using a Vb.net application which will connect to a oracle 10g , or a SqlServer or a MySql database, depending the params.
When i connect to a SqlServer Database i use the sql command "BULK INSERT CODPOSTAL2 FROM file.txt with( DATAFILETYPE = 'char',FIELDTERMINATOR = ';', ROWTERMINATOR = '
')"m" and it works fine.
With a DB Mysql i use "LOAD DATA INFILE file.txt INTO TABLE CODPOSTAL2 FIELDS TERMINATED BY ';''" and also works.
My problem is with Oracle. I tried the same example as MySql, but it gaves the error "wrong" ou "unknown command". I also tried in Sql*Plus but it seems to not recognised the command "LOAD".
Another thing, i can't use the Oracle Loader, it must be like this.

Exporting the application seems to work but when I go to import the application as a copy the regions within a particular page are not working correctly. I want to be able to export the application and import a new copy as a DEV/TEST application and have it function the same way. On the original application the region will display to the right when hovered over the edit button but in the new one it will go to the left and not format correctly.How I would like it is just for the copy application to perform the same way the original copy does. I selected to install all dependent objects and don't know what steps I have missed to have the regions not working like they do on the original application. related to CSS not exporting/importing correctly?

I have a text file called ReturnedFile.txt. This is a comma separated text file that contains records for two fields.... Envelope and Date Returned.
At the same time, I have a table in Oracle called Manifest. This table contains the following fields:
Envelope
DateSentOut
DateReturned
I need to write something that imports the ReturnedFile.txt into a temporary Oracle table named UploadTemp, and then compares the data in the Envelope field from UploadTemp with the Envelope field in Manifest. If it's a match, then the DateReturned field in Manifest needs updated with the DateReturned field in UploadTemp.
I've done this with SQL Server no problem, but I've been trying for two days to make this work with Oracle and I can't figure it out. I've been trying to use SQL*Loader, but I can't even get it to run properly on my machine.
I did create a Control file, saved as RetFile.ctl. Below is the contents of the CTL file:

APPEND
INTO TABLE UploadTemp

The user wants a button on the last form and by clicking on this button they want to export the file(updated records from all the forms) in ASCII format.
if its do-able or not in apex since I haven't come across this kind of request earlier and didn't find the same in this forum?
