I have created a procedure within a database package, but when I want to create a form based on procedure but I can't call it. I think that I have to use prefix, I am a beginner in database and I don't know how to do this.

I want to create custom business rule, that would show message for example "This action cannot be performed, because this and that...".
That kind of custom validation should be in my plSql package and somehow it should throw/send the phrase "This action cannot be performed, because this and that..." to the page header where was message "XXX must have some value.".
How can i create such custom error message to appear out using PlSql package function that i define myself? I plan to create a common validation package, which has lots of plsql functions to validate lot of APEX pages/forms, all those functions should throw/send somehow error messages to page header. I looked that this unofficial solution does not suit for me:

I know that there is now an option in the shared components to set the home page/theme for Desktop display as well as for Mobile display. So the app would automatically know what interface should be rendered based on the device running on. Do I need two versions of each app page (just like the login page) in order to have the app work on BOTH desktop and Mobile ? the reason I am asking is that an AEPX page can have one and only one template/theme. So if I have an app (desktop app) of 10 pages , should I replicate those 10 pages and make them mobile pages. If yes then how do I tell the to navigate differently (branch from page to page) based on the used device ?

I have an Interactive Report with a column that I need to create a link on but I need to pass the value of another column.
This report shows the Features of a particular Release. There is a select list for the Release that is selected and executes the report. There is a column that indicates whether the Feature has a Commitment attached to it. If there is have that a link to another report that shows all the Commitments for that Feature by passing the FEATURE_ID which is also a column on the Feature report.

I'm trying to create a functionality on my application that lets the user change their password whenever they want or when the password gets expired.
But to do that, first I need a Branch to the page "Password Change" whenever the login procedure returns "Password Expire", but when the user has an expired password he can't access none of the pages of the application.
My other problem is:
Even if I can get the user to be redirect to the "Password Change" page, I would need a function that validate his current expired password, because in order to alter his own, he would need to inform his current password and the new one he desires. If I was using Apex Authentication that would be very easy I think, but I'm obligate to use Database Account Authentication.
I have a form on a table that allows me to edit, delete, or create records. If I choose to edit a record from the report the form get populated correctly and edits or deletes work fine. My problem is when I choose to create a new record. I get a blank form which is what I want, but once I fill it out and click the create button, the automated row fetch fires again and gives me a no data found error. How do I get it to not fire when the create button is pressed?

More specifically, the page has two items for user input (the captcha and a text item) and a Submit button. If the captcha is successful, then the text item will be submitted and redirect to another page. The problem I'm running into is that the text item is always submitted regardless of the captcha.

We use Apex 4.2 with Apex Listener. Recently we patched apex to 4.2.2 and now when we try to create a form based on a table, after selecting the schema and table we get the following error: "You do not have access to the schema that you are importing.
Import failed" I've seen some posts regarding this error but nothing that works with my current situation. The database grants are in place.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe are close to successfully getting our CAS authentication integrated with Apex Listener 2.0 and Apex 4.2.1. We are using Weblogic app server for the Listener configurations and have been able to get the remote_user passed to Apex after login to CAS. We just set the header variable in the new 'HTTP Header Variable' authentication scheme. However there is a glitch at the callback from CAS -- we get the error 'wong number of types of arguments in call' and the URL shows: ..... /apex/apex_authentication.callback.
I see the documentation about this CALLBACK procedure, but am not sure how to set it to go back to the application. I know that CAS is working and passing the userid to the application because I can manually type in the app URL .... /apex/f?p=xxx and I immediately get into the application and the correct userid is identified --whereas initially when I hit the same application it sends me to our Central CAS server for login.
where the parameters of this procedure need to be set and how to set them. I assume the procedure needs to be called by Weblogic?for the callback to find the original calling application so it doesn't have to be 'hard-coded'. I see that one of the parameters is 'p_app_id'. I think our Weblogic engineer was assuming the call to that procedure would 'take care' of the return to the original calling application but obviously we have missed some configuration.

I am new to APEX (well all of Oracle really so only have limited knowledge of PL/SQL etc too) but have created a couple of simple applications via wizards. One of these has a tabular form which works fine for updating records for the table that the form was built over but I need a way to write a record to a second (audit) table as well.
My form is used for cycle counting of items in a location. It originally shows the quantities of all the items in a location and allows the user to make corrections by updating any incorrect quantities to the correct value (this would then update the quantity column in the main table). It then needs to calculate the difference between the old and new value and write this as a record to an audit file (might be a positive or negative number).
do I call a procedure once (on submitting the page) and get the procedure to loop through the changed records writing to my audit file OR do I call my procedure once per changed record on the tabular form, if so how do I know what parameters to pass to the procedure?
I have tried researching this online but can find no easy to follow examples. All examples of code I have seen for tabular forms refer to fields referenced by apex_application.g_f01 or f02 etc - how do you know what items on the page these relate to?
Apex 3.2. I have a page with a button. Once the user clicks the button a call is made to a procedure in a package.This procedure acesses a couple more procedures and functions, inorder to import data from one table to another. If the procedure takes more than 5 minutes to complete, the user receives an error message.This is actually the error message the user should get if he tries to do an import while another user’s import is running. Is it possible that if the called procedure doesn’t return in under 5 minutes the page is reloaded and the procedure called again resulting in the above error message.

So I granted to apex_public_user and created synonym for him to my package. And it starts working. But then I wanted to add next proceudre to my package the same way, and change my test procedure and it stop working again. Now I have 404 error again.
