Application Express :: Redirect To Different Pages Based On User Input Value?
Feb 5, 2013I am trying to redirect to different pages based on user inputs. I have a form in which I have one text item and a submit button. For example consider text item to be empno; So once the user enters a empno and hits submit button; I need to redirect to different pages based on this job.
For Ex:
if user inputs empno whose job is 'ANALYST' then redirect to page 1
if user inputs empno whose job is 'MANAGER' then redirect to page 10
For this scenario. i wrote a pl/sql process for the submit button; but no luck -- its not at all redirecting instead its in the same page. Below is the process.

Jul 12, 2013I have a javascript code, which refreshes a report on a page.The problem is, that the report ID is hard coded. If I import this page to a different application, the report won't be refreshed anymore.
Following code is used:

When I googled I saw some links from apex users who had written as how to export using ApexExport utilities, but since we are in windows environment, we are having hard time getting the class_path,java_home...etc setup properly. I guess its not just me most of them would have encountered it.

Jul 11, 2013we got more that 50 apex apps, Deploying it through apex console is becoming pain.we won't get sys or schema passwords. etc as databases are controlled by DBA's, We only get apex_public_user password, internal, workspace admin passwords.If there is any need of schema association for any applications/workspace, We login to internal workspace and map schema to workspace. I read couple of blogs which discussed about automating the deployments through sqlplusconnecting as sys or schema user, will not work for us. Want to know if there is anyway I can import deployments without logging into workspace. We already have workspaces and applications. The deployments will be for updating existing application or deploying new application in existing workspaces. Oracle Application Express 4.1.

Feb 21, 2013I have an application that it will have over 200 pages. Each page will have a sidebar region with a number of lists, around 8-10 items. The lists references all pages in the app. Then, if I create a new menu list , I have to include this new list in all pages, it's painful. It's posible to have shared regions between pages like the shortcuts for messages in the user interface elements?
In this way, I will create an unique element including all lists that will be shared through all pages. This will greatly facilitate the work!I'm using Apex 4.1.

I was hoping we could use something like a "Target=_New"..I guess the only other way would be to manually code this as a HTML region in each page using <a href> as the last resort!

Nov 14, 2012I have been given the task to modify our company's Apex from 4.1 to 4.2. The upgrade has been completed; in addition, the current UI, blue and tan has been updated to BlueJay. I have noticed the structure of the page gets shuffled as well as contents within modules. What would be the best way to "re-organize" my pages.
- Would it be easy for me modify the page, if so how do I do this. The settings look identical, so what would I change ?
- Do I recreate the entire page from scratch ?

Application Express :: Create A Global Region In Page 0 And Then Access It From Other Pages?
Apr 26, 2013I have a number of pages containing charts and gantts. I want the user to be able to filter the data shown in these various charts. More than that, I want the user's filters to persist between pages. So, if they select "Key project = 'Y'" on the gantt page, the gantt will filter - and if they then navigate to a report (bar chart) page, that will also be filtered for Key projects only.
To make this happen, I plan to have an identical sidebar on all these pages. This will contain maybe 8 dropdowns and tickboxes allowing the user to create or remove these filters. Eventually some users might save preferences for certain choices within these dropdowns.
Since the sidebar will almost always be identical from page to page, the smartest approach would seem to be to create one sidebar (as html region) and access that sidebar from all pages rather than copying the code from page to page. Then I thought I'd create application-level items in order to create global variables for each of the dropdowns.
My question is: is this approach possible? And can I create a "global" region in Page 0 and then access it from other pages? (This is how I thought it would work but I have tried and can't see how to do it.)

I had an error importing an application into Production that was exported from Development. The application exists and I was trying to replace it.
The error I received was:

Unless I'm not understanding this error it means that it can find the ACTION part that is attached to the WHAT part of this Dynamic Action? The Dynamic Action does work when the application is run (in Development)also, there are 3 others that are similar to this one. The export was created by the export utility in the Application Builder.
If I export only the page and import that into Production the import is successful and the page runs correctly. This is error is happening only when I try to import the entire Application.There are many other changes made which is why I was trying to do an Application export/import instead of individual pages.
Application Express :: Modify Form Layout Of Existing Application?
Feb 22, 2013I have to modify the Form layout of an existing application (Application Express 4.0.2.) where the data for each field is retrieved using SQL statements
Presently the form looks something like this and the Data for each field is rendered properly in this layout:

What I'm trying to do is to move "FIRST NAME" underneath "LAST NAME" and "UNIT #" next to "LAST NAME" This part is very simple. However, the issue I'm having is as soon as the "UNIT #" is moved next to "FIRST NAME", the data for "FIRST NAME" and "LAST NAME" simply disappear

(1) how can i fill some value in a table column based on some existing column value automatically without user intervention. my actual problem is i have 'expiry date' column and 'status'. the 'status' column should get filled automatically based on the current system date. ex: if expiry date is '25-Apr-2011' and current date is '14-May-2011', then status should be filled as 'EXPIRED'
(2)hOw can i build 'select' query in a report (report 6i) so that it will show me list of items 'EXPIRED' or 'NOT EXPIRED' or both expired and not expired separately in a single report based on user choice. 'EXPIRED' & 'NOT EXPIRED' can be taken from the above question no. 1.
Application Express :: 4.1 - How To Add A Report Column To Existing Page
Oct 12, 2012On a "Form on a table with report" page created with the wizard, I want to add a new report column from the underlying table (this is the multi-row page). If I try to add the column name to the query, Apex tells me:
"You have requested to change the Interactive Report query. If you added columns to the query, they will not be displayed when the report is run. You will need to use the actions menu and either select the columns or click Reset. If you removed any columns from the query, it will disable existing filters, highlight rules, and other report settings referencing those columns. Please confirm your request."
I sure don't want to start over and re-build the page, so where the heck is this "actions menu"?
I'm running Apex 4.1.

For M1, R1 and F1 I have set print object on All Pages and base printing on Enclosing Object. After running the report, output is only one page and consists of 7 rows. But as per the query it should have fetched 21 rows.
When I have changed print object on property to First Page, it output is 2 pages and consists of all 21 records.So, why print object on All Pages generating only one page while print object on First Page generating 2 pages?
