Java Application - Connection Reset During Insert

I have a java application (jdk 6) that use a db oracle 11g with ojdbc6.jar version 11.2.0.1.0 on linux.
Sometimes (one or two cases on 11k sql insert on table in one day) I obtain, the error:

I have developed an application Customer Call Handling where the main form of the Application has about 42(Data & Control) Blocks, many canvases and windows.This main form Calls many other forms which all work fine. But whenever this Main form is Cleared,Queried it calls the Code gems_ proc_ clear which has CLEAR_FORM(NO_VALIDATE).Immediately after the Clear_form(no_validate) is fired it throws this error FRM-92100.
On Save too, the form needs to be cleared once data is saved. The save works fine. but when the call to gems_proc_clear is made after save it throws the error again.
Since its the main form of the application, The Call Center users are having difficulty Clearing or Querying the form.
The forms have been developed in Forms 6i Version and work absolutely fine in 6i Test-Server Environment. But the moment we run the Forms in the Live Server(Oracle 11G) Environment when the form is Cleared,Queried this error throws.

I am using Http URL Connection class to post a data to a URL (which is a web service). The web service accepts data as text / XML.
Following is the code snippet i used:

We have a daily batch job executing a oracle-plsql function. Actually the quartz scheduler invokes a java program which makes a call to the oracle-plsql function. This oracle plsql function deletes data (which is more than 6 months) from 4 tables and then commits the transaction.
This batch job was running successfully in the test environment but started failing when new data was dumped to the tables which happened 2 weeks ago (The code is supposed to go into production this week). Earlier the number of rows in each table was not more than 0.1 million. But now it is 1 million in 3 tables and 2.4 million in the other table.
After running for 3 hours, we are getting a error in java (written in the log file) "...Connection reset; nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Connection reset....". When the row-counts on the tables were checked, it was clear that no record was deleted from any of the tables.
Is it possible in oracle database, for the plsql procedure/function to be automatically terminated/killed when the connection is timed out and the invoking session is no longer active?

I cannot remember my password to access an existing database in Application Express. I tried entering my password 3 times, but the system does not provide a status other than 'Invalid Login Credentials'.
I am going to assume that 3 times is limit before you have to reset the password or from what I see reinstall. When selecting reset, the system asks for an email address that was never established in the system. How can I reset my password without uninstalling and reinstalling Oracle 11g XE?

We have 2 apex schemas
APEX_030000
APEX_040200
Before executing the apxchpwd.sql, found the "alter session command" sets schema to APEX_030000. So we changed that to APEX_040200. Then we executed the sql script. It executed fine.
But now when we try to login to apex, and pressing enter after providing the username/pwd, it raises the following exception
Error Error in PLSQL code raised during plug-in processing.

I have a series of cascading LOVs, A, B, C, D, E.
These select values for a tabular form. My problems:
1. Select on A does not always clear C, but does clear B, D and E.
2. Select on B does not "stick" after the first selection. That is, I can select a value once, then all subsequent selections reset themselves to that first selection, or, to NULL (there are a few flavors of this)
I do not have any Dynamic Actions on the page, other than what is in the cascading LOVs.
Debug is not listing anything to notice - as i suspected would be the case. The issue has to be with JS somewhere, but I do not know how to track it or fix it, short of deleting these items and rebuilding them.
I have copied these items from one page to another.
I would think that once I update all of the cascading LOV settings, the underlying JS would get updated as well.

i has problem with insert file .xml into table in plsql.

How to insert data from file .xml insert into the table which is only of value from the card file .xml into the corresponding fields of table "EMP", not insert CLOB data types in table "EMP".
How do I insert the data into the table "EMP" Are In oracle there functions and procedures which support file parsing .xml?

inserting data in the table.
We are getting more than 20,000 rows (example: ename) from java and they want to insert all the 20,000 enames together in a table having single column ename. For ex:
create table emp(ename varchar2(10));
Currently they are doing
insert into emp values('raj');
insert into emp values('raja');
.
.
.
so on for 20,000.
They are saying that it hits the performance as we are doing insert for 20,000.
Do we have any way where we can insert all the 20,000 ename in one go.

I have two different java process trying to insert in the same time in the same table for the same trade. The structure of the table Report is
create table report
( TRADE_ID NUMBER,
VERSION NUMBER,
MESSAGE_TIME TIMESTAMP)
There is a unique key on (TRADE_ID and VERSION) So if a new trade_id is inserted, the version is set to 1 and the second becomes 2 and so on. The version is calculated as last version of the trade_id ie. version + 1. It was woking fine till a new Java process was build that fired inserts through ten different java instances at the same time resulting in unique key error. So in detail what is hapenning is if three records of trade_id's comes in at the same time it should allocate versions in a first come first serve basis and there should be three versions of trade id 1,2 and 3. Now due to the multiple instances they all seems to get fired at once and all ending up with version one and thus resulting in unique key constrain error while trying to insert into the table.

In one of my application oracle net connection is taking 30 to 40 ms(tnsping servicename),but in actual connection is always taking more than 45 ms, and my application requirement is below than 10 to 20 ms.
And can i use any other connection method like hostname, ezconnect etc.

I have an application in VB6 that connects to an Oracle Database 10g with Oracle native ole db but win7 can not make the connection with a standard user, only makes the connection to a user with administrator permissions. i have a Windows Forms .Net 2.0 App which defines AppDomain.CurrentDomain.UnhandledException handler.When an app thread throws an exception this exception is caught or handled by this method.
The problem is that if i define an OracleConnection, open and close it and then the thread throws the exception this is not handled and app finishes...
Why i can't handled this threads exceptions if i use OracleConnection?

Need to create a report based on date ranges and for this created a interactive report and two page item datepicker fields P15_fromdate and p15_todate. Report works fine with this criteria.But user wants one more field quarter(P15_quarter), When they select the quarter the range values has to get reset and as to get applied to report.
Issue here is unable to find a way to set the page range item values based on the quarter field selection
how to reset the page item fields.

i'm trying to install a development-environment. The production- and testing-environmens are working, but i have problems with the development.
I installed Oracle 10g XE 10.2.0.1.0 and Apex 4.1.1.00.23 on my Oracle VM Virtual Box (Windows 7 Professional 64 bit).
127.0.0.1:8080/apex works from the Virtual Box.
192.168.11.42:8080/apex (the IP in my network) and 192.168.11.42:8080 work either from the Virtual Box.
But it doesn't work from other clients in my network. So far i tried exec dbms_xdb.setlistenerlocalaccess(false).

For applications and Timesten databases on the same server we can use direct model to gain the base performance. But I want to know that how big heap size of JVM to be set for my java application when enabling direct model?
Does my application need more head memory when direct model than other local communication protocols, such as Unix domain socket or IPC? Supposing my Timesten database takes 12GB memory from OS, does it mean I need specify the same size for JVM heap(-Xmx12G)?
