SP file was removed during the testing and I started the database after making some changes in the pfile, and it works fine. But when I try to start the database using the SPFILE, it gives an error.
I get an ERR-7621 from Apex whenever I do anything in an application the tries to read a file. For example importing images, css files, themes, or applications. Even the data loader app will get the error if you choose to load a "csv" file. The following appears in my Apex Listener Log (version 2 early adopter). I am running 4.1.1 of Apex and also have another server running the same where the problem does not exist. Following is the log output whenever the load occurs:
Sep 28, 2012 11:21:18 AM com.sun.grizzly.http.servlet.ServletAdapter doService SEVERE: service exception: java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "" at java.lang.NumberFormatException.forInputString(NumberFormatException.java:48)
I am having issue with configuring listner name on Oracle Server. My default listener is working,But I have stopped the default listener and tried to create another listener is differnt port, but no success,It always says The address of the specifed listener name is incorrect.Below is the listener.ora file
after a long time,(i never remember when was the last time i installed 9i)i was asked to install 9i.So, whether i install server or cilent i get this error <attachment>
after i ignore it and finished the installation,The server installation gets abruptly ended for the client i get TNS errors.
i get flat file and i have set up a control M job so that it runs at a particular time.
initially my control file was as below:
LOAD DATA INFILE 'DFILEabcd.dat' BADFILE 'BDabcd.bad' REPLACE INTO TABLE abcd_table (A position(01:09) CHAR, B position(11:12) CHAR, C position(14:33) CHAR, D position(37:50) char)
this was working fine. control M did not send FAIL message.but later i had to change the ctl file due to requirement. i had to add a when clause.
my code after modification is:
INFILE 'DFILEabcd.dat' BADFILE 'BDabcd.bad' REPLACE INTO TABLE abcd_table when A<>'10' (A position(01:09) CHAR, B position(11:12) CHAR, C position(14:33) CHAR, D position(37:50)
now the control M is sending an erro message after it runs the job. error is Return 5. thats all it gives.
i think it is due to errorlevel 1. in log file it says zero records inserted due to data error. then what is causing control M to send fail message??
sqlloader is loading all the required records correctly.
where i can find an alert log errors so whenever they occur in my RAC so i can comprehend them very well. I am trying to know that what can be the errors when u have RAC with ASM and SAN .
In our development database, we have created 5 dimensions and a cube with 2 measures in OLAP. All these are mapped to relational tables. When we try to load this cube (MAINTAIN CUBE option from AWM) we are getting this below error:
An error has occurred on the server Error class: Express Failure Server error descriptions: INI: error creating a definition manager, Generic at TxsOqConnection::generic<BuildProcess> INI: XOQ-01600: OLAP DML error "ORA-35571: The maximum number of load errors has occured." while executing DML

What are the database parameter i should look for as a DBA ?
i have a software...i installed it and configured it to the database now i copied the listener file from a working server to this both have same name and configuration and databases with same port number.
but when i try to log in it throws a error
ORA-12154 TNS COULD NOT RESOLVE THE CONNECT IDRNTIFIER SPECIFIED
I checked my listener tns.ora files and all are correct but still i cant connect.
1. Install patch 6613550 (./rootpre.sh) 2. Install 10.2.0.1 for AIX 64-bit 3. Install 10.2.0.5 Patch Set 4. Create Database 5. Created/Setup LISTENER and TNSNAMES (test connection successful)
After installation of database, everything went well until we tried to restart the server, what happened is that we cannot start the listener, the error was:
TNS-12555: TNS:permission denied TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error TNS-00525: Insufficient privilege for operation IBM/AIX RISC System/6000 Error: 1: Not owner
What i did to resolve this problem is to change the owner of /tmp to oracle, after that i was able to start the listener. ($lsnrctl start) The problem is that our sys admin said that the /tmp directory is being used by the OS and it's owner must be root. But if i return it to root, the listener will not start again. (After server restart)
BTW, our /tmp has enough space so we did not perform the following steps from the installation guidelines:
In one of our RAC envrionment, we have more than 15 databases in a server running in AIX Operating system.the Listener file I am able to find only one entry (SID). But while trying to execute lsnrctl status it displays all the 15 SIDs in the list hosted in the ser ver. Not sure how it works?
As we created another one new database in the database, where i need to add this SID in the listener.ora file to reload the listener.
To one of my server i can see listener log are on normal location i.e. $ORACLE_HOME/network/log and on other server listener log is DIAG home. how to move listener log from ORACLE_HOME to DIAG_HOME.

I am upgrading a DB using catupgrd.sql, and one of the prerequisites is to shut down the listener. Now, I have multiple database instances registered with this listener, and I don't want the other ones to become unavailable while I do the upgrade. Is there any way to do this for a particular instance only?

i am trying to rename the logfile "c:oraclediag nslsnrTESTQ51listeneralertlog.xml" to "c:oraclediag nslsnrTESTQ51listeneralert estdb.log"
so far i tried
LSNRCTL> set log_file testdb.log Connecting to (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=)(PORT=1521)) TNS-01251: Cannot set trace/log directory under ADR LSNRCTL>
On last Saturday we encountered error 'TNS-12519: TNS:no appropriate service handler found" in our listener log for some moment of time let say around 5mins and later it got all right itself.
I need to display the parameter and status of DB for listener and Read Only.
I know those value could be get from command line , but could we get the values of Listener and Read only by SQL/PlSQL? So I can get it through the query of DB.

We are running Oracle 11.2.0.3 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server with an app server on the same. Our app has a search function that has recently started timing out on us. Sometimes intermittently but often now. I've ran a trace in our dev environment, below code, in an attempt to track down the issue but I'm finding very little useful information in relation to the errors I see in the trace file below. My experience in deciphering trace code is nill so how to interpret these errors.
I have a question ragarding undo tablespace. I want to ask that why only undo tablespace information we need to specify in parameter file. We do not specify any other tablespace information. Not even for temporary tablespace. Then why we need to give undo tablespace name while instance is creating.
I noticed my DB is generating a lot of "small" .arc files and I am usure why. As you can see from the v$log query my log file size is set to 50MB. But yet BLOCKS*BLOCK_SIZE never adds up to 50MB.
Is there anything else I can look into to see how to make the .arc files larger?
when i try to install Oracle 10g (10.1.0.2) 64- bits on windows server 2003 enterprise edition 64 bits service pack1 and i try for windows server 2003 standard edition 64 bits on a pc,i am getting the below error.
