I want to replace data in a field under a certain condition. I want this in the Select.

The result I want is an x if street is not null and empty if the street is null
I have encountered a weird (or maybe not weird at all but unexplainable from my point of view) behavior from Oracle. I have simplified the example as much as possible
This query returns 2 rows as expected:

If I change the join condition with and nvl(e.E_id,0) = nvl(e_id,0) both cases work as I expect (e_id = -1 for second query) but I simply want an explication for this behavior.
I have a CLOB column in one of my tables (Table1), which stores very large (150MB+) XML files. I have new/another table (Table2) in the DB where I have an XMLType column. I want to take the CLOB data (xml) from table1 and remove some part of that and store the rest into to the XMLType column of Table2.

For this I wrote union operation and sum.Am
creating a view for this with there columns dept,Sales_A,Sales_B & Sales C for sum of data.My view is

So finally am using sum function again and selection total sum of value for each status from this view.So by using union operation how can i display data from different condition of data into seperate columns.
i have a list of 500 tables. I want to delete data from those tables based on a condition. (Data before 2008 year needs to be deleted). Each table has a column based on which data needs to be deleted. Provide a code which does this efficiently and fast. Bulk collect is preferable.

The above 8 are the possible ways to key in the data using a form.The logic is like based on a particular condition the message should display in the report.If they specify a particular USER and RESP_NAME and FUNC_NAME then it should display AAAAAAAAAAA (This should take priority first). The priority is in order the default should be the last one.

For example, I have an oracle form that applies the below masking code for a certain field called CUSTOMER_ID

I currently have a field in which the user inputs a number, but before this number is allowed to be saved to the database it has to be checked to see if the number is already stored in a different field within the database. For example, if the number is not in the database the user cannot put that number into the field.
I do want it to be user input so I don't want a LOV linked to the appropriate field in the database.
Is below anyway close to the way it should be done? For some reason seq_rec.seq seems to give me 3 and doesn't seem to compare it with each of the values in the database.

Just say the field in my database has numbers: 1 2 3 4 and 5 in the field that i allow the user to input data they can only enter 1 2 3 4 or 5. Hence the check needs to be made with te database field to check if the input number is already in the database.
P.S. they are separate fields for different things, the numbers just need to be in one field before they can be added in the other.

After exporting some data to excel, I noticed that on one row all the columns shifted over some. So I queried this record in the database and noticed that the ADDRESS field has some unknown characters at the end of it. They are little squares. I think they are TABS.

Looking at the actual data and counting the characters for the "REALIZES" column data, I see that it is roughly slightly over 1000 characters.
So, attempting various ideas to fix the problem, I tried changing nls_length_semantics to "char" and recreating the table, but this still didn't work and still got the same data load errors on the same rows.
Then, I changed nls_length_semantics back to byte and recreated the table again.This time, I altered the table manually as:
SQL> ALTER TABLE ntwkrep.CARD MODIFY (REALIZES VARCHAR2(4000 char));

I have a table where i need to update one field values based on another field of the same table , simply as it is.I have done this using one select all check box , on clicking that all check boxes of item_trans table will get selected , then i will un select some of check box and then using one button, i will update the value of the fields which are checked only.

I have a tab named APPROPRIATIONS it has 10 fields. Among which is PROJECT NUMBER, AUTHORIZAION DATE (CALENDER TYPE POPUP), And FUNDS CHECK FLAG.
The Scenario is depending upon PROJECT NUMBER the Fields are Populated including FUNDS CHECK FLAG .
But the AUTHORIZAION DATE is a MANDATORY field has to be filled by User
The Requirement is to make AUTHORIZAION DATE as MANDATORY only when the FUNDS CHECK FLAG is *"BLANK "* or *“Y”*
If the FUNDS CHECK FLAG is *“N”* then the AUTHORIZAION DATE to be made OPTIONAL.
