I have a package my_package with:

5. procedure: analyze_error_152_ll
6. procedure: get_ext_ids_152(

However, I want to give this parameter a default of null... is this possible?

After creating the public synonym and asigning the required privileges on the object in DATABASE A, I try to execute the following:

After investigating a little i found the following, but i dont know how to apply it, "The CREATE TYPE statement has an optional keyword OID, which associates a user-specified object identifier (OID) with the type definition. It should be used by anyone who creates an object type that will be used in more than one database."

Is there any data dictionary in oracle which proivides information about remote dependencies.

Mar 26, 2013I have search function that takes the input parameters and returns all the matching rows. this is straight forward only. My problem is having multiple types as a input parameter. that is the reason i am not able to pass the input value for these types.
My Input Type table looks like this.

I created a db link in DB 1 to connect to DB 2 and it is working fine when I select data from any table. but I have one table in the DB2 which has a column with user defined data type . so when I try to select this column from DB 2 by using the DB link it gives me this error :ORA-22804 remote operations not permitted on object tables or user-defined type columns.

Mar 29, 2013I am writing a procedure for the front-end. The end-users need to insert multiple rows of data into history tables in the database (11G). My problem is: the multiple actually parameters is not a fix amount, this time, the amount could be 5, next time, it could be 12. I currently used one string and pass the actual parameter (P_id, number) as '2, 4, 5, 7, 8', the procedure was executed successfully, but cannot insert any data into history table.
See my procedure below (the base table has clob data, I have to consider insert ... select *), I tried to use to_number (CONTACT_MSG_ID), it doesn't work well:

And i have wrote a store procedure to compare the before and after value of column since there has a parameter to control which column need/no need to be updated while the value being changed.
For example, master table "CUST" has column (NAME, GENDER, AGE). "CUST_TEMP" is a temporary table to store the input image which has the same table structure as "CUST".

My problem is that I need to pass the date from the above procedure as a parameter to another stored procedure. So I modified my code as follows (the parts in red):

even i tried to pass the parameter with & in TOAD, it asks me to enter value for string.look at the sample code below which i wrote for testing purpose:

I don't want an exception to be thrown stating "OBJECT DOES NOT EXIST" I wanted PL/SQL engine not to execute the particular select statement itself and continue executing other select statements.
The reason why have such kind of wierd requirement is my program displays all the CEMLI objects in any 11.5.10 instance. I don't know whether they have installed discoverer or not. if they installed it no problem else my program have to eliminate.EXECUTE IMMEDIATE, REF CURSOR becoz i tried it and works fine.but not able to wrap in WRAPPER UTILITY 8.0 versions.

Feb 21, 2011I have created a remote link to a sql server db in oracle 11.0.7 works fine in sql plus. I can select tables by select * from table@linkname...the link is a public link But when I put it in the procedure it says invalid table name. then I created a public synonym for the table - i can select from the synonym in sql plus - but in the procedure it says synonym translation invalid...Also I cant grant any privileges to the synonym as it says ddl operations are not allowed on remote objects
