SQL & PL/SQL :: Add Aging Columns To Derive Total Balance Overdue?
Nov 26, 2012
I am doing a report to show current balance, aging (30-60), (60-90), (90-120) and 120+ and a combination of all of these should be the total balance overdue.
If i use a formula cclumn in the report builder, how should i write this query to calculate the total?
I have to build something like an export-interface-mappingtool. So user defines more or less a query and I have to display the attributes of this query to enable a mapping.
If I build up a ref cursor fom this query, I did not find the possibility to read its metadata (mostly Type/length is enough).
What I do not want to do is creating a temp. table or parse the query string to derive it from the dictionary.
Is it possible at all to get the metadata of a dynamic SQL ?
We have a requirement that the password of users never expire. But the user is notified when the password has not been changed for a long time. For example: If the user has not changed his password in 100days, he is to be notified that the password is old and he should consider changing it.
Is this possible directly through the password policy configurations? Or will it have to be handled using a separate procedure?
I want to derive a query to find the Empid's that are linked to only deptid 101 .
Empid DeptId
1 101 2 102 2 101 3 101 5 103
ie, in the above table empid 2 is linked with deptId's 102 and 101 and empid 3 and empid 1 is linked only with deptid. So i want the query which fetches only empid's 3 and 1 and should not fetch 2 as it is linked with deptid 102 also.
[Message #1] how to get a unapplied receipts for ageing report? and RMA(credit and debit note)columns ?
Which tables should be refered for Ageing reports.
[Message #2] How to create an ageing report in discoverer?
Which tables should be refered for a Ageing reports.
Ageing report colums customer name, customer id,location, segment, credit note and debit note in different column, unapplied amount and applied amount in a different colum.Already i got a due remaning date and total amount I want a linked table names.
i want to get balanced amount based on max(suid ).

I have one table where the item stock balance can be taken. What i want is like a ageing report based on the ending balance. If the ending balance is 10,000 for item a.It should bring all the Receipts which have qty lesser than 10,000.
I managed to write one function like below to get the receipts numbers but the format is 3778578-3778612-3790428 and i want to convert them into rows like
3778578 3778612 3790428
The function used is as below.
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION l_get_rcpt ( l_item IN VARCHAR2, l_date DATE, l_bal IN NUMBER )
Is there a way to find running balance for accounts, suppose i have two tables.one for transaction and one summary of balance.
i want to have the closing balance based on transactions subtracted or added based on credit and debit for example.it will add to the running total if its debit and subtract if its credit and final output is the balance.
create table acnt_trans ( acnt_code varchar2(12),trans_date date,debit_amt number,credit_amt number); insert into acnt_trans values ('1001','02-FEB-2013',200,0); insert into acnt_trans values ('1001','03-FEB-2013',0,100); insert into acnt_trans values ('1001','04-FEB-2013',50,0);
[code]....
--I want the output as below.if i run the report as of '04-feb-2013'
trans_date , acnt_code , debit_amt,credit_amt , balance 02-feb-2013 1001 200 0 3200 03-feb-2013 1001 0 100 3100 04-feb-2013 1001 50 0 3150 -- this is the closing balance.
My problem is that I am working with a balance (Infor/WorkBrain - Time & Attendance) I have a balance called Bank Holiday(bal_id 10044). Every holiday that an employee works, he is allowed to take another day off in lieu of the day he worked. The employee has up to twelve months to take that holiday.
My job is to figure out when he worked that holiday (not a problem) and send an email/note at the 11 month mark and notify the employee and supervisors that said employee has 1 month to use his banked holiday.
My problem is the data/constraints I am working with. I can tell what day the holiday was based on a time code (EBLOG_MESSAGE) and EBLOG_DELTA shows a positive 1. I can also tell when the employee has used a bank holiday (EBLOG_DELTA is -1) and EBLOG_MESSAGE = FR_HWO.
But how to I perform the deduction so that I get four most current dates. Meaning since my first date that the employee gets for a holiday wokred is 6/3/2010 but the employee used a bank holiday on 8/31/2010. So I want to display the dates 7/1/2010, 7/27/2010, 8/1/2010 and 10/15/2010.
My preference would be not to add anything new to this table as it is a core table for Infor/WorkBrain.
I am having a table with 5 lakhs transactions. I want to fetch the last balance for a particular date. So i have have returned a query like below.
SELECT curr_balance FROM transaction_details WHERE acct_num = '10'
[Code]...
This has to be executed for incrementing of 12 months to find the last balance for each particular month. But this query is having more cpu cost, 12 times it is taking huge time. how to remodify athe above query to get the results in faster way using analytical query. Whether this can be broken into two part in PL/SQL to achive the performance. ?
I need to calcuate balance for last two cooprative years on input date.
example
if input date is-->"01-AUG-2012" if (month >=7) -->then i need to calculate from 01-july-2010 to 30-june-2011 and 01-july-2011 to 30-june-2012 and 01-july-2012 to input date.
if input date is-->"01-june-2012" if (month<7) -->then i need to calculate from 01-july-2009 to 30-june-2010 and 01-july-2010 to 30-june-2011 and 01-july-2011 to input date.
Background: We are migrating a lot of databases from one SAN appliance to another. We are doing this by adding new disks from the new SAN appliance to the existing disk groups, re balancing, removing the old disks from the disk groups, and then re balancing again.
Question: If I execute two ALTER commands with the same power on 2 or more separate disk groups, do both operations start executing right away? Or do they queue up and execute one after another?
I ask because we would like to queue up several re-balances so we don't have DBAs watching status bars all day.
I want to create a report by using one field and one text as columns name in layout but display the all the columns. I mention the 5 column names in query.how can I write function in summary column.
I am running a fairly busy Oracle 10gR2 DB, one of the tables has about 120 columns and this table receives on average 1500 insertions per second. The table is partitioned and the partitioning is based on the most important of the two timestamp columns. There are two timestamps, they hold different times.
Out of these 120 columns, about 15 need to be indexed. Out of the 15 two of them are timestamp, at least one of these two timestamp columns is always in the where clause the queries.
Now the challenge is, the queries we run can have any combination of the 13 other columns + one timestamp. In reality the queries never have more than 7 or 8 columns in the where clause but even if we had only 4 columns in the where clause we would still have the same problem.
So if I create one concatenated index for all these columns it will not be very efficient because after the 4th or 5th column the sorting would no longer be very useful and I believe the optimiser would simply not use the rest of the index. So queries that use the leading columns of the index in sequence work well, but if I need to query the 10th column the I have performance issues.
Now, if I create multiple single column indexes oracle will have to work a lot harder to maintain all these indexes and it will create performance issues (I have tried that). Besides, if I have multiple single column indexes the optimiser will do nested loops twice or three times and will hit only the first few columns of the where clause so I think it will kind of be the same as the long concatenated index.
What I am trying to do is exactly what the Bitmap index would do, it would be very good if I could use the AND condition that a Bitmap index uses. This way I could have N number of single column indexes which the optimiser could pick from and serve the query with exactly the ones it needs. But unfortunately using the Bitmap index here is not an option given the large amount of inserts that I get on this table.
I have been looking for alternatives, I have considered creating multiple shorter concatenated indexes but this still would not address the issue since many queries would still not be served properly and therefore would take a very long time to complete.
What I had in mind would be some sort of multidimensional index, I am not even sure if such thing exists. But essentially it would be some sort of index that could serve a query efficiently regardless of the fact that the where clause has the 1st, 3rd and last columns of the index.
So considering how widely used Oracle is and how many super large databases there are out there, this problem must be common.
My example: I'm given an Allowance throughout the week. It happens to be 10 dollars but it can vary from day to day.I can create a running total with SUM(Amt) Over etc...This is the CUMUL column in the example below.
On certain days I've spent different percentages of the allowance. (The SPENT Column which is a field in the database)I can't manage to create the AMTLEFT column in the example below. The AmtLeft column seems to be a kind of running total that 'refers to itself' so this is where I'm stumped.
I'm trying to Rank Username based on the Total Sum of amount waived but I want to avoid Ranking the Overall Total at the bottom, plus I dont want them in Ranking order, I want the order to stay the same as it currently is.
SELECT DECODE(GROUPING(USERNAME),1,'TOTAL',0,UPPER(USERNAME)) as "USERNAME", SUM(CASE WHEN TO_CHAR(DATE_PROCESSED,'MON') = 'JAN' THEN AMOUNT_WAIVED ELSE 0 END) AS JAN, SUM(CASE WHEN TO_CHAR(DATE_PROCESSED,'MON') = 'FEB' THEN AMOUNT_WAIVED ELSE 0 END) AS FEB,
I would like to give back to the our application user a page of results for a given query along with the total result count, something like: "Showing 1-25 of 650 total results".
Currently I am doing this by submitting a second query:
select count(*) from (<previous query criteria>)
Is there a better performing approach I could be using?
I am writing a report that breaks on the first 4 fields. That part is working fine. I also want a count for each Group (the 4 fields), and a grand total. Since I want to break on all 4 fields as if they are one combined field, I made a concatenated column (called Break_key) and had the report total on that.
I was surprised when the count appeared at the top of each group, rather than at the bottom. The grand total is at the very bottom of the report, as I would have thought. How can I get the sub-totals at the bottom, rather than the top?
Is there any data dictionary table to get the object grants for total objects in the database?
Using DBA_TAB_PRIVS, i get object grants for tables only. But i'm looking for remaining objects also. The list of remaining objects is below.
view, or materialized view Sequence Procedure, function, or package User-defined type Synonym for any of the preceding items Directory, library, operator, or indextype Java source, class, or resource
provide me the other data dictionary tables for querying.
I need to modify my query so that it can give me a total(duration) and total(stlmntcharge) per day in april 2013 starting from the 1st till the 30th. At the moment my query looks like below:
SELECT sum(duration),sum(stlmntcharge) FROM voipcdr WHERE (calldate >= TO_DATE('20130401','YYYYMMDD') AND calldate <= TO_DATE('20130430','YYMMDD')) AND (remtrunkid IN (SELECT UNIQUE trunkid FROM trunks WHERE description LIKE '%Telkom%' AND gw_range_id = '61' AND trunkid like '9%'))
or remip in(SELECT UNIQUE startip FROM gateways WHERE rangename LIKE 'vo-za%' OR rangename LIKE 'PC-IS-VOIS%')
I want to get any employee name of deptno 10 but total count of number of employees under dept 10.
DECLARE l_deptno NUMBER:=10; l_count NUMBER; l_ename varchar2(20); BEGIN SELECT count(*) OVER(order by empno) ,ename INTO l_count,l_ename FROM emp WHERE ROWNUM=1 and deptno=l_deptno; dbms_output.put_line(l_count||' '||l_ename); end;
I am displaying customers names and there inventory prices(inv_price * ol_quantity) however I need a total sum of all customer prices at the bottom
ex name1 | 50 name2 | 25 total amount | $75
DECLARE CURSOR abc IS SELECT customer.c_last, SUM(inventory.inv_price * order_line.ol_quantity) AS Total, inventory.inv_price, order_line.ol_quantity FROM customer, orders, order_line, inventory WHERE customer.c_id = orders.c_id AND
I'm on 11.2.0.3. I want to write a query to get calculate a running total of incidents per day - this query will be used for an APEX line chart.Sample table and data:
