Is it possible to alter a session within Oracle forms as I get the following error when trying to compile the following block.
BEGIN EXECUTE IMMEDIATE ( 'alter session set nls_date_format = 'DD-MON-YYYY'''); END;
Error: Encountered the symbol "IMMEDIATE" when expecting one of the following
The basic requirement is to validate a date field on the form against the current system date, but as the form is in format DD-MON-YYYY and the Database on M/D/YYYY I am struggling to compare dates successfully.
i want to restrict the user if he/she enters any 3 consecutive sequence of numbers,characters,alphanumerics and special characters for example aaa, aAa, @@@, ---- , 111, 123 are not valid.
valid sequences are a1w,?1A,aa1,WW2,78a,-#a
i want to show the invalid sequence in a single query using regular expression function. suppose for example if user enters aaa,$$$,123 then the query output is aaa,$$$,123.
i have written two different queries for that but i want a single query
SELECT REGEXP_SUBSTR('EEE','([a-z])\1\1',1,1,'i') FROM DUAL; SELECT REGEXP_SUBSTR('111','([0-9])\1\1',1,1,'i') FROM DUAL; SELECT REGEXP_SUBSTR('@@@','([^-$])\1\1',1,1,'i') FROM DUAL; -it is not checking for -(hypen) characters
The application user owns the application schema which owns all the database objects in this schema. Now 50 of our developers need access to this application schema but giving away the password for the application user is risk as "Drop user application cascade" and wipe off all the objects. The option i have is to create 50 separate users with tablespace as application and grant all rights to application schema.
I have an urgent requirement to kill an existing session if a new session starts for the same user. I have been reading lot of blogs and posts on the above topic, but could clearly tell me how to do it.
I thought of putting a process in 101 page when login button is pressed to catch this and kill the old session.
I would like to create a report specifying to few page numbers. Currently the report generates with all data for say e.g. 300 pages. I want this(original_300pages) report also i want copy of the same report with only first 20 pages.
We have got a new requirement wherein, The customer wanted the DBA Vendor (US) NOT to access the confidential information (ALL Columns) in the DB tables of PRODUCTION database. This is for few applications to comply with with export control rules. The thin support by Customer DBA will be allowed to access the Data, if required .
1) Web Based Interface ?. 2) DB Encryption (But if we encrypt ALL columns Serious performance issue expected, File level will not restrict DB level access) 3) Special setting on DB (DBA to do only backup and restoration related work only - But cannot access data) 4) Standard Tools / Utilities / Others ??.
We are using Apex 4.0/Oracle 10gR2/ Hp-Ux, We noticed that there is a process Running in Two Sessions that seems running since 3 Hours using 60% CPU,** 30% given below sql it executes in two Sessions!
declare function x return boolean is begin -- if instr(upper(:F4000_P4651_PLUG_SOURCE),'ORDER BY')>0 then declare l_position number := 0; begin loop l_position := instr(upper(:F4000_P4651_PLUG_SOURCE),'ORDER BY ',l_position + 1) ; exit when instr(upper(:F4000_P4651_PLUG_SOURCE),'ORDER BY ',l_position + 1) = 0 ;
what name is used to reverence the mouse cursor in Forms. I am trying to state that if the user reaches the last record in a file and clicks the mouse on the empty record below that they will get a message saying they are at the last record (basically so it means they have to manually click an add record button before they can add a new record)
I currently have this:
IF :SYSTEM.LAST_RECORD = 'TRUE' THEN <something here> := :SYSTEM.LAST_RECORD; MESSAGE('You are at the last record.'); ELSE DOWN; END IF;
Where i have <something here> is where i assume the refence for the mouse cursor should go, of which i dont know the name, am i correct?
Another thing is that I have a checkbox that is originally NO but when set to YES cannot be turned back to NO.
I have accomplished this by putting the following code in the WHEN_CHECKBOX_CHANGED trigger and it works fine. However it also updates the checkbox to NO and then back to YES, , as a result this brings up my Are you sure you want to update message. I originally thought that if i took out the :in_active := 'Y'; the FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE would stop the checkbox being changed in the first place but this didnt appear to be the case. how to accomplish this without letting it update at all (perhaps put something in the WHEN_VALIDATE trigger?
DECLARE return_alert number; BEGIN if :in_active = 'N' THEN return_alert := SHOW_ALERT('checkbox_alert'); :in_active := 'Y'; RAISE FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE; END if; END;
I cann't commit form when new instance form with form status is "NEW".
And then i call: Text_Item := WebUtil_File.File_Selection_Dialog('', '', 'Excel 2003|*.xls|Excel 2010|*.xlsx|All File|*.*', 'Select a file to Import', Open_File, True); Form status change to "QUERY"
And then i click button "Import Data" from excel file to Data Block. Now form status change to "CHANGED". But i cannot call "Commit_Form" built-in to insert data to database oracle 10g.
how to make a form with report and an insert form in the same page, these two forms are related to the same table. Our customer wants a user can add new row to the table in a form and see all of rows created by this user in a report, this report should provide edit link as well. the problem is: whenever I inserted a new row or edit a row or delete a row, and submitted, and return to this page, all of hidden items lost their values, so report is blank, and some display only items also lost their values.
I want to call a Web form which should upload the image from my local machine.For that I have created a form which will take necessary data about employee now I want to Insert Image for that employee into table as I am new I struct on the Image uploading form. I have FORM_A calling FORM_B: Call_form('FORM_B',...). On form_B I am updating a Record and when I close Form_B and the focus goes back to Form_A, I need to Automatically Reload Form_A to reflect the changes that were made on Form_B.
How can I reload the Calling Form (FORM_A) when I closed the called form (FORM_B)?
I created a master-detail form using wizard in oracle apex 4.2 Now I want to attach an LOV to one of the items of detail form, which is visible on the same window as of master form. To do so, I need to first find the item in detail page, details of which are not available in page definitions. I can see all the items of master form but none for detail form in "Page Rendering" section.
I want to convert my forms6i application into forms9i therefore I initially converted my login and explorer form.
In my login form, I am using NEW_FORM to close my login form and wants to activate my explorer form but every time a pop-up raised and asked "DO YOU WANT TO CALL THE NEW FORM?", if I pressed YES then pointer moved to explorer form.
This form is working perfectly in 6i and didn't asked anything and moved to successfully to explorer form.
I am connecting to Oracle 9i using JDBC in my JSP/Servlets web pages. I am closing all my connections in Finally blocks.
Everything works great during the day with JDBC and Oracle.But after a Web crawler runs through our web server at 3 AM the next morning a v$session check shows several lines of JDBC Thin Client inactive status. find exactly what sql statement or program that could be causing the JDBC Thin Client to show up?
I just upgraded my version of my oracle from 9 to 11.2g.When I tried to execute some queries in PL/SQL i keep getting an annoying error : "ORA-01843 not a valid month."
I realized that if I execute the following query:alter session set NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE=AMERICAN;before every query that I want to execute, then it's executed fine.
I preformed the next queries: 1. select * from nls_database_parameters; 2. select * from nls_instance_parameters; 3. select * from nls_session_parameters;
and I saw that the fields in the "nls_session_parameters" vieware not derived from "nls_database_parameters" "nls_instance_parameters".
How can I derive the parameters from the instancedatabase view into the session view?I want that the "nls_date_language" parameter will always be 'AMERICAN'.
