View 1 RepliesI have created a simple page with a tabular form built on a view. The view is on top of a collection that is created when the page is ran. I added a tabular form column validation. I then was going to add a pl/sql process to handle the updates into the db, but before I did that I wanted to delete the ApplyMRU that was created when I first created the tabular form because it does not make sense on my view. When I went to delete the MRU it gave me an error saying "Multi Row Update processes can't be deleted as long as there are validations defined for the tabular form".
I have searched for an answer on this, but so far I have not found much. I am hoping it is something simple that I am missing. I even tried deleting the MRU first and then add the validation, but then it gave me another error about "Tabular form validations require multi-row update processes" I know this was possible in 4.1, but now I am trying it on 4.2
I am developing HR portal on our company and our HR were scanning the policy to become jpeg format so that I can import it to the image. My question is can the oracle forms have the function or facility to (ZOOM in /OUT) the picture using image.

and then schedule in a dbms_jobs?

So far I have:

I have declared the tablename and triggername outside the trigger creation as I need this to be parameterised for a list of tables.
The procedure IsCDCUser just checks it should be updating for this user.
The problem I get is the following error:
Bind Variable "NEW" is NOT DECLARED
I am trying to develop a form consisting of a key block and a single data block. The problem is that the driving table is not the table that needs to be updated.
user wants the following layout:student Advisor
ID# name degree major Concentration ID# name
The driving table (TABLE A) will supply the first 5 fields. The advisor ID comes from (TABLE B).
The user needs to update the adviser ID# field associated with the student ID# field. The form is to be tabular listing all students. I've seen some info on using procedures to insert, delete, update, query and lock tables, but i'm just not sure if that's what is needed.
I have two table and trying to update tableA with data from tableB but gives an error. My TableA has columns - colA,colB,colC,colX and table B has columns - colA,colB,colX. Sample data looks like this:

this is the query I wrote
update tableA a

When i run it gives this error:single row subquery returns more than one row.
tableB has only 1 value for colX for each colA,colB record but tableA has mutiple colA and colB repeated but for all of thsoe in table A i want to update the tableB.colX value for matching colA and colB.
I been doing a little testing with indexing the contents of URLs (database v11.2.x.x).

The only way I can see to do this is create different indexes as the attributes for 'URL_DATASTORE' are limited. If I can what does the 'Contains' statement look like?
I'm wanting to create a query that will give me a summary of parts and labor from work orders. However there are three tables. work_order, parts, labor. Sometimes there will only be parts, sometimes just labor, or sometimes both. Well my query will only return results when they are on both. Sample query is below. Do I need to create a temp table to gather the data or is there a way to do this with a sub query.
select work_order.wono, sum(parts.cost), sum(labor.cost)
from work_order, parts, labor
where

I would like to find a way to do a multi row insert in Oracle similar to the examples below ... if possible.
Note that I need it to work with constant values and not values selected from (another) table (ref examples below).
In MySQL and DB2 I can do this:

I have a text file called ReturnedFile.txt. This is a comma separated text file that contains records for two fields.... Envelope and Date Returned.
At the same time, I have a table in Oracle called Manifest. This table contains the following fields:
Envelope
DateSentOut
DateReturned
I need to write something that imports the ReturnedFile.txt into a temporary Oracle table named UploadTemp, and then compares the data in the Envelope field from UploadTemp with the Envelope field in Manifest. If it's a match, then the DateReturned field in Manifest needs updated with the DateReturned field in UploadTemp.
I've done this with SQL Server no problem, but I've been trying for two days to make this work with Oracle and I can't figure it out. I've been trying to use SQL*Loader, but I can't even get it to run properly on my machine.
I did create a Control file, saved as RetFile.ctl. Below is the contents of the CTL file:
LOAD DATA
INFILE 'C:OracleTestReturnedFile.txt'
APPEND
INTO TABLE UploadTemp
FIELDS TERMINATED BY "'"

That's all I got. As I said, I can't find a way to test it and I have no idea if it's even close.
I have a base table (Table A) block with multiple records displayed. I need to track audits to this underlying table in the following way:
If user updates a field in the block I want the pre-changed record's audit fields to be set and I need to create a copy of the record with the changed values. Basically any changes will result in the record being logically deleted, and a copy record created with the newly changed values.
Tried to implement in the block's pre-update trigger which will call a package to directly update Table A then Insert into Table A, then requery the block. Is there a clean and efficient way to do this?
I have table test1(id,name) and table test2(id,,name)
Now when I update name column of a row on test1 I want the same value to be updated for the same id in test2.
So I wrote this trigger but its not working

For instance, if the incoming record is present in the target table I would update them in the target else I would simply insert. I have over one million records in my source while my target has 46 million records. The target table is partitioned based on calendar key. I implement this whole logic using Informatica. Looking at the informatica session log I find that the informatica code is perfectly fine but its in the update part it takes long time (more than 5 days to update one million records). find the TARGET TABLE query and the UPDATE query as below.

I would like to update an XML element without using the function APPENDCHILDXML or INSERTCHILDXML because they are not available in Oracle 10GR1.

At the time when P_delivery_date changes in P_ORDERS I want to transfer P_delivery_date to S_delivery_date in S_ORDERS for corresponding records.

during batch posting records are inserted into the paytable, on some pledge donations donors will send overpayments when fulfilling a PLEDGE(as is the case with donor 16084) therefore the system will split the payment during the process and will assign a trantype of 'PP' to the exact pledge amount and a 'PPO'(pledge payment overage) towards the balance. additionally as records get inserted into paytable there is counter of those paytable records going into the appealtable for that particular appealcode so in the case above when batchno 20120808 is completed appealtable.total# will show 103 and total$ will show $2532($10,$12,$10,,,I did not include payment$ since that is not the focus of this issue and will not change).
mgt wants the counter into the appealtable to be 2 instead of 3 records since the two records that were split(same split_transnum) should be recorded as one response not two.
I have tried writing an after insert trigger(dreaded mutating table error) and can't seem to figure out how to update the counter to the appealtable after records are inserted into paytable. below is some code I've been working with but it's not working.

I need to update the value of OLD_UNIT_ID in Marketing table to be equal to NEW_ID in the table of UNIT. As you can see the values of OLD_UNIT_ID in both tables are the same.
