SQL & PL/SQL :: Encrypt / Hide Password In Create DB Link Script
Sep 14, 2010
I have a script that creates all db links for a schema. The script currently has hardcoded password use to create db link. We do not want to hardcoded password in the script.
I am planning to manually ask to input the password using accept command in sqlplus but this may be time consuming because there are many db links. So, I wanted to know if there are any better options ? Is there any way to use encrypted password in the sql file?
I have a password column in my table which i need to encrypt coz of the simple fact that anybody who queries should not be able to see the password which is a kind of violation.
We currently hardcode the password inside our Java application to make the connection with the Database,this makes the password to be visible to all users who can read the application code. How can we encrypt the database password so we don't have to hardcode it into the application?
I have IR wit one column link target to URL, and it uses javascript:my_function(#COLUMN_VALUE#)as URL, that is, calls some function and passes the value of that column to the function; everything works fine; but when I place a cursor over the link, bottom line of IE9 browser (is it called a 'status bar'?) clearly shows:
'javascript:my_function(<actual value>)' Is there any way to prevent it from showing function name and parameter value? I tried onmouseover="window.status='';"but it does not work
I have following problem I have simple script in bash where I connect to db and launch simple select.
username:$(value)@host...
Problem is that i want to hide the password or encrypt. currently as you can see Iam using variable (value) where the password is keep. the problem is that, mentioned script is launched by many people which are using the same user (monitor). the variable is read from a file where user (monitor ) has access its in the same directory.
is there any way how to solve it ?
for e.g. 1. to put the file with password in another folder where the user (monitor) has no access to see the file. 2. to decrypt the password, but I have no clue how to do it .
I already did the hide of username and password, now i need to recieve in cgicmd.dat a parameter because i already have the way of reports i want only to recieve the name of them, so i put like this:
I want to hide the URL or Username and password in web.show_document. While accessing report through form any end user can see the url. I need to hide the credentials.
I am trying to create a procedure that will send in the customer id, password and new password. The procedure will say if it has been updated or not. this is the code i have.
--Patty Carson --Assignment 3 Question 3 --Description: Allows the user to change a password for a customer CREATE or REPLACE procedure ChgPwd (custid OUT number, password OUT VARCHAR2, newpassword IN VARCHAR2) AS [code]...
I want to know what if any person don't know the password of SYS, can he create password file, becauase i dont know the password of sys users, generally login with '/ as sysdba',
for creating a db link, How to get the encrypted passwordhere is an example
create public database link "TEST1.UNIX.190.ORG" connect to "scott" identified by values '053E6879854B7744F64396350297E1D6EF191163AE35216E64' using '(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=10.30.20.20)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_D ATA=(SID=SID1)))';
where or how to get the encrypted password(Pink colored above) to create db link.
Usually where should we create the database link? In the production or development? create public database link dblinkname connect to user_in_db2 identified by password_in_db2 using 'tnsentry name in db2'; In production or development?
I want to create a database trigger which will test the database link, if it is ok then it will use dblink and do its work.
If it fails then it will send the data into its own server logfile.
I Wrote:
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER PERMIT.TESTTRG AFTER INSERT OR UPDATE ON PERMIT.TR_LP_M_H_COMPANY_25072012 REFERENCING NEW AS New OLD AS Old FOR EACH ROW Declare l number; nIgn PLS_INTEGER; nRows PLS_INTEGER := 0;
[code]....
When I execute it it is giving error:
LINE/COL ERROR -------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- 4/11 PLS-00201: identifier 'EXEC_SQL.CONNTYPE' must be declared 4/11 PL/SQL: Item ignored 8/2 PLS-00320: the declaration of the type of this expression is incomplete or malformed
on my Windows 7 machine with Oracle Client 12.0.1.0 installed I'm trying to create a database link to a database server, that runs under Oracle Standard Edition1 11.2.0.2. When i login to sqlplus on the client with "sqlplus /nolog" and type the command : SQL> create database link SID connect to user identified by passwd using 'tnsnames.ora connection'; I'm getting an SP2-0640: not logged in.
Ok, thats clear, because i use sqlplus with /nolog option. But on client side normally I have no database, where I can login. So I think, there will be no user, or? The database to which I want to connect is set in tnsnames.ora. Generally: Is it possible to use the Oracle Client to create a database link?
I Have an apex page that display a modal window utilizing jquery. In the modal window I have a classic report with a link column that I want to capture its click event.
I was thinking I could create a dynamic action with selection type=jquery selector. Not for sure if I need to do anything on link column and do not know the syntax jquery selector.
