SQL & PL/SQL :: Data To Be Inserted Into Partition Associated Its Own Date?
Feb 11, 2013
I have table and it will contain huge data, so we have implemented as partitioned table. Every day when we load data into table there will be one partition created by the ETL Process by default with the Date Column(day wise). Now we may receive data for the previous days as well(Date column in table will have the date associated to the Data). No i would like the data should be inserted into partition which assocites to its own date.
Activity Structure ACTIVITY_TYPE CHAR (1) NOT NULL, ACTIVITY_DATE DATE DEFAULT sysdate NOT NULL, ACTIVITY_ON VARCHAR2 (30) NOT NULL, REFERENCE_NO VARCHAR2 (19), CHILD_REFERENCE_NO VARCHAR2 (19), USER_ID VARCHAR2 (30) DEFAULT user NOT NULL, TERMINAL VARCHAR2 (30) DEFAULT userenv ('TERMINAL') NOT NULL )
Activity1 Structure Which I have Done Partitioning When I insert data from Activity to Activity1 it gives that error ORA-14400: inserted partition key does not map to any partition what I am doing wrong
CREATE TABLE ACTIVITY1( ACTIVITY_TYPE CHAR (1) NOT NULL, ACTIVITY_DATE DATE DEFAULT sysdate NOT NULL, ACTIVITY_ON VARCHAR2 (30) NOT NULL, REFERENCE_NO VARCHAR2 (19),
[code]....
Insert Statement
insert into ACTIVITY1(ACTIVITY_TYPE, ACTIVITY_DATE, ACTIVITY_ON, REFERENCE_NO, CHILD_REFERENCE_NO,
When I am trying to insert record from tbl_mittal into tbl_temp table. I am facing "ORA-14400: inserted partition key does not map to any partition" error
SQL> insert into tbl_temp select * from tbl_mittal; insert into tbl_temp select * from tbl_mittal * ERROR at line 1: ORA-14400: inserted partition key does not map to any partition
AS tbl_mittal is having hugh number of records so I am providing only few rows from tbl_mittal table as test data.
I Know we can create dynamic partitions on table in oracle 11g. Is it possible to create normal partition and sub partition both dynamically.I have to create Normal partition range on date and sub partition list on Batch ID (varchar).
How can we partition a table based on date if it does not have a date column.
Actually I have to compare two tables on daily basis and fetch few rows from those two tables and enter it to a third table.But both these tables does not have a date column.
I am confused if i need to alter those tables and add date column or if there is some way in which i can compare the data from the two tables for that particular day only and not the whole table data.
I wanted to select data which is inserted on the same time.
Is that possible? I am trying with below query but facing isses.
SQL> SELECT a,b,c,d FROM tb;
no rows selected
SQL> SELECT a,b,c,d FROM (INSERT INTO tb VALUES(1,1,1,1)); SELECT a,b,c,d FROM (INSERT INTO tb VALUES(1,1,1,1)) * ERROR at line 1: ORA-00903: invalid table name
I have a report for this report i want to insert a data into one table. when am inserting the data then two time its inserted. if i run the report its inserted the data and i have taken the pdf file then also inserted 2 time for this.
Note: This report having only one group. not necessary below method give any other solution if destype=pdf then no need to insert otherwise insert the data.
I know this is an old thread and I just started working with triggers. I want to check if the data being inserted is already in the table and if not insert it:
create or replace trigger t_triggername before insert on tbl_tablename for each row begin if(:new.user_id <> :old.user_id) then insert into tbl_tablename(user_id, location) values (:new.user_id, :new.location); end if; end;
what if I wanted to keep the user but only update location if the user is already in the table. I've tried doing it this way:
create or replace trigger t_triggername before insert on tbl_tablename for each row begin if(:new.user_id <> :old.user_id) then insert into tbl_tablename(user_id, location)
I have a complex sql query that fetches 88k records. This query uses a global temporary table which is the replica of one of our permanent tables. When I do Create table..select... using this query it inserts only fewer records. But when I make the query point to the permanent table it inserts all 88k records.
1. I tried running the select query separately using temp and perm table. Both retrieves 88k records.
2. From debugging I found that this problem occurred when we were trying to perform a left outer join on an inline view.
However this problem got resolved when I used the /*+ FIRST_ROWS */ hint.
From my limited oracle knowledge I assume that it is the problem with the query and how it is processed in the memory.
I am seeing some trailing characters in the coloumn when we are inserting Blob. I am doing SQLBindParameter with SQL_C_BINARY and SQL_LONGVARBINARY as InputOutputType and ValueType respectively.Do you see any problem in this. I get this problem when I am running Oracle 11 g client on an Windows 2008 Server 64bit.When the same set of query is fired from Windows 2003 Server 32bit with Oracle 10g it works fine and no trailing character gets inserted.
i have table with range partition and list sub-partition..can i add one more list sub-partition if it is not possible , i have to drop first sub-partition.
I want to get data for month to date. For example, If I pass today or any day date as parameter then i should get data for that month(month of passing date) up to passing(parameter) date. As well as i have to get year to date.For example, If I pass today or any day date as parameter then i should get data for that financial year(year of passing date) up to passing(parameter) date. how to get month to date and year to date data.
I have a date field that should be filled everyday with today's date and I need to get the days that were not entered.
i.e. :
CREATE TABLE TRY_F (DAT DATE);
INSERT ALL INTO TRY_F VALUES (to_date('01/01/2011','DD/MM/YYYY')) INTO TRY_F VALUES (to_date('02/01/2011','DD/MM/YYYY')) INTO TRY_F VALUES (to_date('04/01/2011','DD/MM/YYYY')) INTO TRY_F VALUES (to_date('05/01/2011','DD/MM/YYYY')) INTO TRY_F VALUES (to_date('06/01/2011','DD/MM/YYYY')) INTO TRY_F VALUES (to_date('08/01/2011','DD/MM/YYYY')) INTO TRY_F VALUES (to_date('10/01/2011','DD/MM/YYYY')) INTO TRY_F VALUES (to_date('14/01/2011','DD/MM/YYYY')) SELECT * FROM DUAL;
I need a smart way of getting the dates that were missed in DAT.
I have a range date partition table month wise which i want to truncate the partition and load for each month data i get from source.
How can i get the partion name based on data value.
e.g
source data
SALES_IDSALES_DT
101/02/2008 101/03/2008 101/04/2008 101/05/2008
target table has same structure as source but has more data but i want to delete only those which is coming from source if it is there in target and then load. so i want to get partition name so that i can truncate and load them.
I have a range partitioned table with one lob column. Each partion is on a separate tablespace except two partitions which are on same tablespace. Now I want to move a partition from one tablespace to another tablespace along with lob data. By using a simple alter table move partition will also move the lob data or there is some special procedure to adopt.
We would like to remove the partitions from a particular table. The table in question has 12 partitions. Based on some initial investigation, I've come up with the following options. because the table we going to remove partition will have millions of records so on considering the db downtime we are looking for a alternative way. Is there a better way?
Copy data into another table, drop all partitions, then copy the data back into the original table Copy data into another table, drop the original table, then rename the new table and rebuild the indexes.
I have 2 tables with same no of column and range partition based on date.At the end of month i want to copy the data of one table to another table.Instead of copy the data i want to copy the data of one partition completely to another table partition ..
I have a table that partitioned into six partitions. each partitions placed in different table space and every two table space placed it on a different hardisk
when I will do query select with the non-partition keys condition, how the search process ? whether the sequence (scan sequentially from partition 1 to partition 6) or partition in a hardisk is accessed at the same time with other partition in other hardisk. ( in the image, partition 1,4 accessed at the same time with partition 2,5 and 3,6)
I have a staging table with 70 million rows and nearly 90 columns. We just want to verify and perform some validations on the data and then move this data to final tables. There staging table has a primary key in it.
We are planning to create the final table in following ways.
1. Create n number of final tables. 2. Create n number of final tables with partitions based on the primary key value in staging table. 3. Create single final table with partition based on the primary key value staging table.
I'm using Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production and TNS for Linux: Version 11.2.0.3.0 - Production.Requirement is to create a script to add a LIST partition to some selected tables in a schema (tables do not have data, they are not partitioned). There are about 300 such tables (can vary) and their names are maintained in a separate table. Example -Existing table
-CREATE TABLE test_part(id number (2), name varchar2(20), audit_userid number (9)); Expected table -CREATE TABLE test_part(id number (2), name varchar2(20), audit_userid number (9)) PARTITION BY LIST (audit_userid) (PARTITION p1_audit_userid VALUES (1));
Ultimate goal is to add more partitions based on the amount of data to be populated.
Can I add range sub partition to a hash partition table. Example like this.
CREATE TABLE test ( test_id VARCHAR2(10 ) , test_TYPE VARCHAR2(5) , CREATE_DATE date ) partition by hash (test_id, test_type) Partitions 3 SUBPARTITION BY RANGE (CREATE_DATE);
When Tried, I am getting syntax error as invalid option.
I have partition based table one the basis of year month. And we have 8 local indexes on this table. Every month we have to create a new partition and load data into this partition and the volume of the data is around 14million and the load process is taking long time due to indexes. Is it possible to drop the indexes from particular partition?
For the above data set i need to divide into 5 partittions and need to updated the partitonid with the partition number for each partition set,like the below result set
