I have 3 code files written in ProC. I have precompiled, compiled, tested them in my local environment (Windows) & they work fine. But when I try in real environment, AIX 5.3, I can precompile them. But when I try to compile & link them with the libclntsh library I get errors. I am using a Makefile but just for testing this is the command -
xlc oraProcs oraProcs.c test_curva.c lib_util.c -I $ORACLE_HOME/precomp/public -L $LIBPATH -l libclntsh.a
Error - ld: 0706-006 Cannot find or open library file: -l libclntsh.a
ld: open(): A file or directory in the pathname does not exist
where LIBPATH = $ORACLE_HOME/lib
library libclntsh.a exists in $ORACLE_HOME/lib & has the right permissions
I also tried removing the library libclntsh.a & recreating it using the command - genclntsh When I run this command I get this warning more than once -ld: 0711-783 Warning TOC overflow TOC size: 66888 Max size: 65536 genclntsh creates the library libclntsh.a, just not sure if these warnings damage the library file and are related to my link erros in some way.

We are facing one issue on one of the database. The database is generating large trace files(14000) from last two days. That consumes around 15G space on the disk. And the content of the trace files is not having any meaningful message to debug:
cat /apps/oracle/admin/fs90uat/bdump/fs90uat_p050_23966.trc
*** TRACE DUMP CONTINUES IN FILE /apps/oracle/admin/fs90uat/bdump/fs90uat_p050_23966.trc ***

*** TRACE DUMP CONTINUED FROM FILE /apps/oracle/admin/fs90uat/bdump/fs90uat_p050_23966.trc ***
... (Many lines with above message)
The alert log is having one repeated error yesterday:

There are only OCI headers in 9.2.0/rdbms/demo directory in our installation of Oracle 9.2:
9.2.0/rdbms/demo/ocixad.h
9.2.0/rdbms/demo/oci.h
9.2.0/rdbms/demo/oci1.h
...
In Oracle 10.2 installation there are OCI headers in rdbms/public directory:
10.2.0/rdbms/public/ocidem.h
10.2.0/rdbms/public/ocidfn.h
10.2.0/rdbms/public/ocikpr.h
10.2.0/rdbms/public/oci.h
10.2.0/rdbms/public/oci1.h
...
What should be installed additionally to have OCI headers in rdbms/public in Oracle 9.2.0?

my Multithread-Program hangs in an oracle library while passing a prepare statement (also if i try an EXEC SQL SELECT statement...). Something seems to be wrong in the Program, but i cant's find the Error.The Program is build with:
proc parse=none code=cpp mode=oracle hold_cursor=yes maxopencursors=20 THREADS=YES sqlcheck=full iname=Precomp_all.pc oname=Precomp_all.h
problem: a first thread creates the connection to oracle with one global context (type sql_context) in the connection object:
connect()
{
EXEC SQL WHENEVER SQLERROR DO ORASQL_ERROR();
EXEC SQL WHENEVER SQLWARNING DO ORASQL_WARNING();
EXEC SQL WHENEVER NOTFOUND DO ORASQL_NOP();

Encountering an issue with an Oracle external table. We get the following error when we load a particular file in this table:
ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server P000
ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEFETCH callout
ORA-30653: reject limit reached
ORA-06512: at "SYS.ORACLE_LOADER", line 52
We have narrowed this down to a text field in the file that contains the following text (text obfuscated):
XXXXXXXX ł XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
This is nominally 40 characters long, which matches the maximum field size, but it is being rejected because it appears the 'ł' character is causing Oracle to interpret the length as 41 characters instead. If I remove a X then the file loads without issue.
We tried this in a new schema we created where we added the same table and used the same file. There was no problem at all. The oracle database has the following settings:
NLS_CHARACTERSETUTF8
NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSETUTF8
NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICSBYTE
NLS_LANGUAGEAMERICAN
The table is defined as follows:
CREATE TABLE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.XXXXXXXXX_INTERFACE
(
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX VARCHAR2(40 CHAR),
XXXXXXXXXX VARCHAR2(40 CHAR),
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX VARCHAR2(40 CHAR),
XXXXXXXXXXXXX VARCHAR2(40 CHAR),
[code]........
We tried adding the following attributes but they did not seem to make any difference:
CHARACTERSET UTF8
STRING SIZES ARE IN CHARACTERS

according to article "Installing Netbackup for Oracle agent on Unix". URL.... Shut Down all oracle instances on this client. I need to add a new column to a very large table, and update it with 'N'. (this is similar as specifying default 'N'). I'm using Oracle 9i. Which is the best method regarding to speed, to update this column on entire table? The table contains ~30 millions of records. I've read that parallel DML (here UPDATE) does not work on unpartitioned tables. My table is not partitioned. If i specify:
update /*+ full(p) parallel(p,10) */ my_table p set p.my_column = 'N';
This, i think will not speed up the operation on 9i. Our business does not accept to use CREATE TABLE AS SELECT, then renaming table and recreating all indexes and so on.

At a customers site I see lot of long lasting library cache locks during a complex ETL run. Several Sessions run in parallel and create Database tables with dynamic sql ( CREATE TABLE AS SELECT ....) .
Sometimes these procedures wait for each other with wait event 'Library Cache' . I presume that this is a side effect of the dynamic DDL in the stored procedures. Is that possible even when the Procs create different Tables but reference the same tables in their SELECT clauses ?
I presume that this is plausible but I need some arguments to convince my colleagues.

FRM-10102: Cannot attach PL/SQL library XXX. This library attachment will be lost if the module is saved.I am getting above error message while opening Oracle 6i Form in 10g.
I get the following Alert message when I try to attach the library to my form - Attached library name S:.........xxx.pll contains non-portable directory specification. Remove path? Yes/No?
If I select 'No', the Form compiles and runs without any error.But if I select 'Yes', I get the following error message: FRM-40039: Cannot attach library xxx while opening form.
All files (fmb, fmx, pll, plx) are on the same path. I detached and then re-attached the library but this didn't work for me?

I am using Apex 4.1.0 with Oracle 11gR2 and Oracle App Server (mod_plsql). I'm trying to incorporate the d3.js library (a visualization framework) in my Apex charts but am not having much success.
I found this article in which David Mann uses the library within an Apex 4.x application:
[URL].....
I replicated his exact steps in my own application but without success. I do not see how he was able to get his application to work. Indeed, the tutorial does not even use a dynamic action despite what the article title says.
Has any one used the d3.js library with their Apex application. If so, would you be willing to share how you went about it?
