Can we collect information(generate report) about user sessions connected, database hit ratios, memory usage and other system metrics of all target databases from OEM grid control repository database. Which tables/views in repository DB will be holding these information.

I've noticed that the backup files produced by RMAN (Database is 11.2.0.2.0 Enterprise Edition) )on a RHEL5.5. server which is running ASM have group permissions assigned to ASMADMIN (so the file permissions are assigned to ORACLE:ASMADMIN) as opposed to OINSTALL or any other group.
While this is not an issue (it's not currently impacting us in any way) I'm curious as to how and why this happens. I suspect it is related to the fact that the oracle executable has these permissions also but I can't find any material to confirm my suspicion.
I have a requirement to generate a report in csv file, attached scripts, sql query and actual output and expected output.
In the query, I am hard-coding month&year, when I run in march 2012 it should include march 2012 in output (similarly for every month going forward), to do that I have to modify my query to include march 2012 & preceding months in every individual query, this report needs to be generated once every month.
I am looking for a generic solution which does not need to be modified every month, also in the output,under "Mail File" data should be in ascending order, in the "Total Mailed" all the months should have grand total.

I have a requirement to create a generic script to generate awr report on the basis of two timings . We are planning to do load test on multiple server. The user will key in the start time and the end time of the load test and the script should round off the user entered time to the nearest snapshot id and generate a awr report. I have tried using the dba_hist_snapshot table fields begin_interval_time and end_interval_time column. However it failed.
The servers are running on 11g as well as 10g and few are in RAC and few single instances.

I am trying to generate (Oracle 10g) ADDM and ASH report using sql query in HTML format. Just like below given AWR report.

I had a few regions on my page, the 2nd did not start a new row so it appeared horizontally where possible.During some experimentation, I created a new region with a sequence in between that started new row, but even when that region was conditionally never, my original 2nd region started on new row.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe run rman backups every night (level 0 on weekend, level 1 other 6 days). Backups are running fine. The problem I'm having is we also have a OEM report that runs morning to report on the status of those backups. For some reason, the status of the OEM database is always "RUNNING", everything else is "COMPLETED". This is the sql that is being run:

FROM RMAN.RC_RMAN_STATUS
where start_time between sysdate - 1 and sysdate

The status reports runs at 7AM and all the backups run between noon and midnight, this is the output from the sql:

I've tested restoring the OEM REP database and it restores fine. Why the status shows as "Running"???

I'm trying to test moving a single instance 11202 database to single instance w/ grid infra.
Here is what I've done:
1. Install a database (11202), single instance and create a database
2. Install Grid Software only (user: grid)
3. start the cluster
4. "srvctl add database -d orclsidb -o $ORACLE_HOME" to register the database with grid.
4.1> I was able to start/stop the database with srvctl command here onwards
5. configure disks using asmlib and start the asm
6. "srvctl add asm" to register asm with grid.
7. PROBLEM ... when I try to "backup as copy database format '+ASM_DATA_DG';" from oracle user it errors out as below:
