Feb 27, 2012when i tried to insert the details from oracle froms..the data inserts twice to the DB..
my table structure:

);
here a_id can be genarated through simple sequence(pid_seq)...

the data inserted...but twice
what is the reason behind the double insertion?

I have a requirement where i need to dump some dummy data (600000000 numbers of data ) into the emp_test based on these existing data without disabling the constraints (maintaining unique constraint for each record). And while inserting i want to commit after every 1000 insertion.

Oct 12, 2010check my query and correct it basically I want to insert/update data from one user to other therefore I write this coding at my form button, when user press button first time its insert data successfully but if user press button again then it should update because data have been inserted in first step.
Actually it is detail table so it can have more then one record against any master. My query fails in updation, it inserts a new record instead of update.

Apr 27, 2012I have a table which contains 8,21,177 amount of data totally.Now I am trying to delete around 4,84,000 of data from this table by using just one filter i.e. my query is something like below
DELETE /*+ parallel(resource,4) */ FROM resource where created_by = 'MIGN'
This is going to delete 4,84,000 rows of data . But my current issue is this is taking lots of time to delete the data . To be precise , its almost taking 25 hours to delete this data..The created_by column is indexed .
