Nov 26, 2010I am attempting to select back multiple values for a specific key on one row. See the example below. I have been able to use the sys_connect_by_path to combine the fields into one field but I am unable to assign them to fields of their own. See the example below
TABLE DETAILS:
Policy id plan name
111 A Plan
111 B Plan
111 Z Plan
112 A Plan
112 Z Plan
My desired result is to be able to show the output as follows
Policy ID Plan_1 Plan_2 Plan_3
111 A Plan B Plan Z PLan
112 A Plan Z PLan
PL/SQL :: Multiple Indexes Using Same Columns On One Table?
Oct 4, 2012I have a table like MyTab(a int, b int), and I am required to create a primary key index and a non-unique index on this table using columns (a,b) in a specific table space.
The back end database is Oracle 10g.
Here's what I have tried so far, needless to say, unsuccessfully.
Alter Table MyTab
Add Constraint c_1 primary key (a, b)
Using Index (Create index mytab_idx on MyTab(a, b))
Using index tablespace results_index
So my question are:
1. is this is possible? if so, what is the correct syntax.
2. assuming it is possible, using this sort of construct before? it appears to be conflicting and inconsistent to me.

we have table that generates data from 7am to 20pm for eavery hour it generates 4 rows and has 43 session values as 43 columns.
Now i want to find for every hour which is the hights session value at what time. in one hour it runs four times like 7, 7:15, 7:30 and 7:45 and each row has date, time and 43 session columns in table...

Requirement :
From the above structure, we need to build a table which will hold the complete hierarchy by breaking it into multiple columns.The o/p should look like this

Child 1, Child 2, Child 3 ....and so on are columns.The number of tables and the no of hierarchical relationships are dynamic.

Approached already tried :
1) Using indentation : select lpad(' ',20*(level-1)) || to_char(child) P from hierarchy connect_by start with parent='Report1' connect by prior child=parent;
2)Using connect by path function :

from (select parent,child,level,connect_by_isleaf as leaf, sys_connect_by_path(child,'/') as path
from hierarchy start with parent='Report1'
connect by prior child =parent) a where Leaf not in (0);
Both the approaches give the information but the hierarchy data appears in a single column.Ideally we would like data at each level to appear in a different column.

creating a stored procedure that updates the points column in the teams_tbl , the value that is updated in to the points column will be retrieved from the fixture_team table. so if team a has more goals than team b then the points column for team a will be increased by 6 else if the scores are equal they get 4 points each.

The table has all contacts like parent/guardian, friends family, emergency contact etc.
I would like to the first primary contact in this order,
1. initial contact, 2. same as student address and also have to be parents,
3. live with and also a parent, 4. parents 5. friends.
I don't know how to pull 2 and 3 . because it looks like it needs to concatenate the columns.
here is my initial query

Jan 31, 2013I am trying to validate a monthly report so was trying to write queries to get different criteria into one table. So my first query returns all the product,second query returns all the enrolled customers, 3rd query returns all the cancelled customers and 4th query returns all the newly enrolled for a month. Is there a way I can pass the first query results into 1st column, 2 query results into 2nd column, 3 query results into 3rd column and so on.
I tired writing the SQL several different ways and have spent a day on it and still cannot figure it out. I am using SQL Developer.

Forms :: Saving Data From Multiple Datablocks Into New Table?
Aug 19, 2010I have a form with 2 datablocks, datablock 1 is the datablock in which I want to write data too that table within the database.
datablock 1(which i want to insert data too) is:
In forms layout this simply consist of a display box at the top of the screen which is populated by a LOV from another table within the database. The lov value selected will then be placed in the appropriate field of the table. For example the LOV contains a list of every single car make there is. i.e. Renault, Ford, Vauxhall etc
datablock 2 (in which i just want to read data from, and write the data to the table used in datablock1) is:
Below this is my second datablock, which on the trigger 'on-new-form-instance' reads data from an already existing table and displays a list of every single make of car ie, focus, clio, megane, astra etc (tabular layout displaying 12 records at a time). Beside these car models will be a checkbox which is a non database item, originally unticked.
What I want to do is the user selects a car type from the top LOV say Renault for example, then they will go down the list of car models checking each and every model of car Renault makes, i.e clio, megane, etc when these models are all checked, and the user clicks save, it will insert into my table (which is the top datablock) the car which was selected From the LOV at the top, plus each and every car model which has a checkbox checked. So for example, say the user selects Renault from the top LOV and checks models clio, megane, laguna. There should be 3 entries in the table consisting of:
Renault, clio
Renault, Megane
Renault, Laguna
Now I have got it to work partially, in the fact that if I load the screen, select my car type and then multiple models that it will add 1 car type and model to the database but not the others which I have checked. I think I need it to go down each row and check if the value is ticked or something like that? using row id or something?
Here is the code I have so far: Just so you know car_model is the name of my table used as my second datablock, contains all car models as u would expect.

Another option was to do a loop and go through each record and see if it is checked, not sure how I would implement this but it does seem like a very inefficient way to do such a task, perhaps it would be something to do with when a checkbox is ticked stamp it or something.

where appt_state = 'ON HOLD'
Because patients in my database can have multiple appointments "on hold" there are duplicates in the results. I only need 1 record per patient in order to forward this information into an automated dialer to contact that patient. I do NOT want to call the patient over and over again. Once will suffice. I'm trying to make a distinction on the column 'med_rec'. One row per 'med_rec' will be awesome but I can't find a way to create a distinct on that column.

cwat_curr_mst and cwat_assigned_customer and cwat_assignment_mst.
Cwat curr mst has PK curr_id and cwat_assigned_customer has PK assignment_id.
Also cwat_assigned_customer has customer_id.
In cwat_assignment_mst has Curr_id and Assignment_ID.
cwat_curr_mst and cwat_assigned_customer tables has 4 cols in common
they are
ASRT_SNM_NO, SNM_NO, FLORIDA_NO, CBRN_NO.
So from curr_mst all these 4 cols data needs to come/copy into cwat_assigned_customer.
