Forms :: Oracle 10g Express Edition Can Support 6i
Mar 2, 2007I have downloaded oracle 10g express edition. I have tried to connect forms 6i in that in windows xp environment but when i tried to connect it is not connecting and giving "don't send" error.
If there is any patch to connect forms 6i into oracle 10g express edition.

Jul 24, 2011i am trying to use Firefox to run 10g forms application. Firefox not detecting the initiator. Firefox each time says plugin missing and searching for it. giving option to download manually. each time i run the form in Firefox same thing. no plugin found and its downloading another copy from d10g folder.

Jul 4, 2013We have an existing db (10.2.0.4.0) and forms (11.1.2.1.0) application, that we're trying to extend to support Chinese characters. We're looking to add some unicode (nvarchar2) columns to existing tables, rather than converting the whole db charset. I've pasted my environment settings below. What I've found so far in trying to create a local (ie. running the form in Builder with local weblogic running) test form, is that I can insert the chars ok (using plsql developer) and the test form can display them correctly, but cannot write them back to the database. They appear as upside down question marks in any records the form has created.
Env variables:NLS_LANG = .UTF8 Database:NLS_CHARACTERSET = WE8MSWIN1252NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET = AL16UTF16 1)
So, how to get the form to write the characters back into the database correctly? 2) The chinese chars will only be relevant to a few forms inside the app, are there any settings local to the form that will enable unicode support, rather than setting at OS level. ie, an alter session, or equivalent? 3) Oracle Reprts doesn't appear to have an nchar datatype unlike Forms, is there anyway to get Reports (generating PDFs), to include Chinese?
I now have the chars writing back to the db ok. If you do it via an INSERT statement from inside the form, it doesn't work. It appears the value is sent to the db in the normal charset rather than the national charset, and it's written as a question mark. If you pass the value from the form into a back end stored proc though (which does the insert) it works okay.

The query works with all the CTEs up to the last select statement. Oracle does not support the OUTER APPLY statement, how should the last piece be written to make it work in Oracle?

At the moment, within an Oracle instance I have Area_Dev and Area1_Test schemas, with the intention that Project Xv1.0 would use Dev schema for development and Test schema for testing.
Lets say I want to start on Project Xv2.0 development while I am still finalizing Project Xv.10 development what is the best way of accommodating that, without creating individual schemas for each project?
Application Express :: Error Console In Firefox
Jun 12, 2012I am getting many warning messages in the error console using Firefox V 13. This one seems to be the most prevalent. It's not causing problems except that on some machines it causes the error console to pop up and is distracting for the users.
"Warning: Unknown property '-moz-box-shadow'. Declaration dropped. "
My suspicion is there will always be warning messages, is there a way to suppress the Error Console in v 13 ?
Application Express :: Failed To Load Background Images After Upgrade To 4.1.1 In Mozilla Firefox
Aug 27, 2012I have recently upgraded our test APEX environment from 3.2.1 to 4.1.1.00.23. Everything went smoothly - I have only one small but annoying problem. In both administration and administration services some background graphics are not displayed. This issue occurs only under Mozilla Firefox (in MS IE it OK). The application frontend is OK in both browsers.
Under Firefox, I inspected the sourcecode in Firebug and the relative links to images. e.g.
background: url("../apex/builder/bg-region-darkblue-r.gif") no-repeat scroll
show message "Failed to load the given URL".
somehow related to the fact that our application is accessed via apache proxy. Because when I open the administration and/or administration services page in FF directly on the server, it displays correctly (incl. images).
But the network (Apache proxy) configuration is exactly the same as in the previous version of APEX where we had no problem. Something must have changed in the sourcecode of the new version.

Mar 15, 2011I read the Website URL....and searching now for an alternative way for a small Oracle DB around 120 - 250 GB Data.I cant find any DRAM SSD that seems to suite the needs of such a small amount of data to a valuable price.
The only Hdd i found is URL... but im not sure if thats the right thing and if its possible to still buy such a device.where do we get such a device in Europe(swiss) and what would be the price for such a device?
Do i need to make a special setup within oracle (11g R2) to get the maximum out of such a DRAM SSD?

Apr 14, 2013i installed database 10g with English language support and imported a dump file contains tables having columns in arabic
so after search i did these steps
SHUT;
CONN SYS/SYS AS SYSDBA
STARTUP RESTRICT;
Alter database character set INTERNAL_USE AR8ISO8859P6; (for arabic) which we want.
SHUT;
STARTUP
after the previous steps i checked on the nls_characterset from NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS and found it changed to AR8ISO8859P6 and that's right after that i can insert any arabic character to the tables but the original data still the same
is there anyway i can do to change the original data to be read in Arabic or i should make another import

May 12, 2011we are facing an issue with the dbms scheduler jobs, which is not processing the synonym which is created via dblink from anthoer schema.
Let me explain the situation.
Table in Schema :APP_COMMON DB: APPL

This is the different DB (we have 2 DB's, one for report db and one for application DB). here we create the DB link (connected DB menthod) . Since we have the password sync between the databases, we create the DBLINK without user id and password.

Now in the same DB, we have a scheduler which will run for every min.
Now Scheduler is not selecting this table. Rather not processing the synonym(TEST_LOG). Not able to capture the exception also.
