Application Express :: Date Picker With Seconds?

Apr 11, 2013

I'm using Apex 4.2.1 against Oracle 11gR2 and mod_plsql.create a date picker item that allows users to select seconds as well as hours and minutes.

I have searched this Forum and see that others have asked this question. The answers have all been "No". However, I've seen no such question since version 4.1 has been released, and so, am hoping there now is a way to do this.

I have adjusted the Date Format field to be "DD-Mon-YYYY HH24:MI:SS", both under the date picker item itself as well as under the "Global" parameters section of my application. All to no avail. The date picker shows only hours and minutes for the time portion.

Application Express :: Default Value Date Picker Field

Nov 21, 2012

In a detail tabular form I am referencing a date picker field from the master form as default value. This is the situation in the detail form:

TABULAR FORM
Column Name: FECHAREGISTRO -- the field's name in the detail tabular form

Default Type: Item (application or page item name)
Default: P68_FECHAREGISTRO -- It's a field in the master form and also is Date Picker format
Reference Table Owner: SAMPEDRORIVEROS
Reference Table Name: BITACORAABOGADO
Reference Column Name: FECHAREGISTRO -- It's a date field in the database

At execution time I have the error:

report error:ORA-01790: expression must have same datatype as corresponding expression

I think it is because i must use to_date and to_char in order to change the datatype and i have tried using:

Default: to_date(to_char(:P68_FECHAREGISTRO,'DD-MON-YYYY'),'DD-MON-YYYY')

and in Default Type: PL/SQL Expression or Function but I get a different message at execution time:

report error: ORA-01722: invalid number.

Application Express :: How To Populate Date Picker Value In Calendar Region

Jul 2, 2012

I have a calendar region based on a simple query from a table which has date and name columns. The calendar type is monthly with 3 buttons - previous, today & next. It works perfectly.

I have added a date picker in a calendar region now. If i choose any date, the calendar month should be refreshed accordingly. Ie... by default it would show July 2012 month. When i choose the month as March 2012 in the date picker, it should show March month data.

SELECT d.event_code_dt, count(d.event_number) count1
FROM main_event a,sec_event d
WHERE a.event_id = d.event_id(+)
GROUP BY d.event_code_dt
ORDER BY d.event_code_dt, count(d.event_number) desc

Results are like this

11-MAY-10
21-MAY-10
22-MAY-10
NULL

And I want results to be like this:

Same thing happens with Event_month

PL/SQL :: Order By In Union Clause In Date Column

Nov 3, 2012

Oracle version : 11.2.0.2 Linux EL6 server

I have a query like below:

select col1, col2, col3, col4
from tab1, tab2, tab3
where conditions
union

[Code]...

Now, the col4 is a date column and I have to order by the entire result sets on it. I know I can do it by (order by col4) or by (order by 4) at the end of the entire query.

But the problem is that, the output is coming in dd-Mon-yyyy (i.e 31-Nov-2012).

I want every output in dd/mm/yyyy format so I need to use to_char function.

But in that case, I cant use the order by clause, because in that case it is getting arranged by character i.e by 1,2,3,4,5 like this.

PL/SQL :: Order By Date Column With A Format Mask

This is my query

select to_char(exp_Date,'Mon-YYYY') dt, count(*) from exp_main
where exp_type like 'Income%Photo%'
group by to_char(exp_Date,'Mon-YYYY')
order by exp_date

When I run this I get :not a GROUP BY expression

If I remove the order by, it works fine.

Is there a way to order by since the output of the query is character-sorted.

I did search online most have suggested to use order by column_name. But does not work for me.

Performance Tuning :: Order Of Steps In Execution Path And Order Of Predicates In The Plan

Mar 20, 2012

Which step in the following plan is the first step of execution

I reckon it is "TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID| BANK_BATCH_STATE"

In the "Predicate Information (identified by operation id):"

Isn't there any relation between the order of execution steps and the order in which predicates are displayed?

SQL & PL/SQL :: Result Order In 2 Table Joins Without Order By

Sep 6, 2011

I have below tables,

describe rpthead

Name Null Type
--------------------------- -------- -------------
RPTNO NOT NULL NUMBER
RPTDATE NOT NULL DATE
RPTD_BY NOT NULL VARCHAR2(25)
PRODUCT_ID NOT NULL NUMBER

describe rptbody

Name Null Type
------------- -------- -------------
RPTNO NOT NULL NUMBER
LINENO NOT NULL NUMBER
COMMENTS VARCHAR2(240)
UPD_DATE DATE

The fact is that we store some header in RPTHEAD and store real data in RPTBODY, the question is that if I use below SQL to query all data for a 'PRODUCT_ID'.

SELECT t0.LINENO, t0.COMMENTS, t0.RPTNO, t0.UPD_DATE
FROM RPTBODY t0 , RPTHEAD rpthead
WHERE
(
t0.RPTNO = rpthead.RPTNO
AND
t0.UPD_DATE>=to_date('1970/01/01 00:00:00','YYYY/MM/DD hh24:mi:ss')
AND
rpthead.PRODUCT_ID IN ('4647')
)

I do not want to have 'ORDER by' clause since data set is too large, the sorting takes long time, is there any way to get the result rows in the order sorted by RPTNO? We have the index for RPTNO on RPTBODY.

Forms :: Data Block Ignoring Order By Clause?

Mar 6, 2012

I have a real problem with form, specifically one of its data blocks. In the order by property of the block i specify it to sort on a branch in ascending order(i tried descending as well) but for some reason the form ignores that and sorts it on the ROWNUM. I even removed the where clause, the order by clause and changed the query data source type to FROM clause and changed the data source name to pre-query. I then created the query string in the block's pre-query trigger and set query_data_source_name property to that query string and still the data in the block is not being sorted on the branch number but instead on the ROWNUM.

SQL & PL/SQL :: Display Date Ranges In One Column As Separate Date Periods (start And End Date) In Two?

Jun 1, 2010

I'm trying to work out how to take a table like this:

IDDate
12502-Feb-07
12516-Mar-07
12523-May-07
12524-May-07
12525-May-07
33302-Jan-09
33303-Jan-09
33304-Jan-09
33317-Mar-09

And display the data like this:

IDPeriodPeriod StartPeriod End
125102-Feb-0702-Feb-07
125216-Mar-0716-Mar-07
125323-May-0725-May-07
333102-Jan-0904-Jan-09
333217-Mar-0917-Mar-09

As you can see, it's split the entries into date ranges. If there is a 'lone' date, the 'period start' and the 'period end' are the same date.
