Forms :: While Connecting 6i With Oracle 9i Database / Forms Closed Immediately
Oct 4, 2011
when I try to connect my forms 6i with oracle 9i database, forms stop working and closed immediately at the meanwhile tnslsnr also stop working. This problem also persists in forms runtime.
we have these oracle developer 2000 forms (in .fmx format) in a server and the data of these forms in another server.... the server with the data is very old and is very slow...so we decided to relocate the database(oracle 9i) to a new server..... also, we move the developer 2000 forms from the old server to another server which will serve as the front end to the new data server. how to make the developer 2000 forms on the new front end server to point to the new database on the new data server. how the forms find the data, where this "connection string" is for developer 2000 forms.
I am working on Forms [32 Bit] Version 11.1.1.4.0 (Production). OS is Win 7 (32 bit). Internet Explorer 8. My Requirement is I need to raise an alert when user close the browser window before closing the Form.
i have create database link with msaccess2000 its working fine in forms 6i i am trying to upload data by using forms 6i while compiling form is automatically closed my code is this
begin insert into baba1 (select * from baba1@access_db where dte between to_date(:block3.fdate,'dd-mon-yyyy') and to_date(:block3.ldate,'dd-mon-yyyy') [code]....
I got a call today saying that some users were having a hard time logging on to Oracle using our in-house PowerBuilder-built application. I have Oracle 10.2.0 running on 32-bit Windows 2003. Poked around a little, looking in the dump directories, checking CPU utilization, checking OEM to see if there were any obvious performance issues or blocking issues or whatever - didn't see anything unusual. Logged in with SQL Plus with no problem. Then I checked the audit logs. All we audit is user logons and logoffs. What I was seeing is that a handful of users were showing a logon event with a logoff (action 101) 10 to 15 seconds later. One user in particular was showing this over and over again.
I am building the Oracle on RHEL 5(on Virtual machine with fixed disk space). I could install, after configuring and tried to connect to the database using "sqlplus system" on the command prompt(logged in as root), I get the following error message:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory
I am making a form in which i could intigrate with scanner to capture image and stored it database. I also want to use OCR too. I am making document management System. I want to know how can i directly get connected with with scanner image to save it at runtime.
I have task. I am using oracle forms 6i. I want to import excel data to oracle forms(its common task using ole2 package). But this time I want to map the columns i.e my database table having 5 columns. and the excel file is having 2 or 3 columns then i suppose to map those columns and accordingly insert it to my table.
So far i have import column heading of excel to oracle forms, then i've provide list item for mapping each column. so that user can map excel column to database columns. Now I am confuse how to write the code so that selected columns should get inserted into database.
-more details
I have table with columns id, name, location, address, plan. in those columns i need to insert records form excel. user having a excel with 3 columns col1, col2, col3. on the form i've fetch column headers of excel and in front of that i've provide database column list , so user can match excel column with database column. e.g.
COL1 --> list value of database column COL2 -->list value of database column COL3 -->list value of database column
Once user map those column i want to insert those values into my database table (table with columns id, name, location, address, plan). and i am confuse about this code.
connecting two oracle database in two different server.I installed Oracle 10g XE in both system. Both system act as Server.I need to connect both server using database link concept.
how to use the tnsnames, ora and listener.ora file for connecting both system.
I'm using following connection string: +connectionString="Driver={Oracle ODBC Driver};Server=someDb;Uid=useruidr;Pwd=password"+
when I call method "Open" on "OdbConnection" I get following exception: +ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified+
"someDb" is specified correctly in tsnames.ora, "...client" and "...clientin" are added to PATH environmental variable ORACLE_HOME is set to "...client"
I have Oracle Client 11.2.0.3.0 installed Operating system is Windows 7 32 bit
When I change Driver to "Microsoft ODBC for Oracle" it works fine. However I want to use Oracle ODBC Driver.
Connecting Oracle to SQL Server via database link.
I am trying to connect from Oracle 10G to a SQL Server database. I have looked at the manual and i will admit that i am finding the documentation quite difficult to follow. There seems to be several options to use but none of the documentation describe how each option works.
As an example, i have been given the following information on the database i need to connect to (i.e. the SQL Server database)
- Username - Password - Database Name [lets assume the database name is data_extract]
Note: In listener.ora, i only added the last SID_DESC entry. I then went on and created the database link as shown below
create database link sqlservdb using 'sqlserver.db';
When i try to access a table i get the following error
sqlplus> select * from TESTTABLE@sqlservdb; select * from TESTTABLE@sqlservdb * ERROR at line 1: ORA-28545: error diagnosed by Net8 when connecting to an agent Unable to retrieve text of NETWORK/NCR message 65535 ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from ORASQLSERVER
A couple of things i am not sure of:
- Where do i specify the username and password to access the sql server from the oracle db to the sql server db
- Having read around on the internet, i can see some people refering to a DSN datasource. I am told that the information that i have is all i need. Is this correct or do i need something else?
- The sid i specified in inithsodbc.ora and tnsnames.ora is actually the sql server database. Is this correct?
connecting to an oracle db with the instant client 11.01.06. I can connect to the db via other tools like sqldbx or SqlTools 1.5 which are also using oci. So now I tried it with c++ using Visual Studio 2005 SP1.
where tnsservice-name is the name I specified in the tnsnams.ora, and which I used with the other tools working fine -> same error. My username is only 4 long, so I thought it might have something to do with the string. So I tried:
now it returned the error "TNS:connect descriptor too long". Can't have anything to do with the .ora file, since it worked fine for the other tools. Plus it didn't matter if I renamed the .ora file or removed it from the TNS_ADMIN directory..So I searched a little more for a solution and so an example, where the the last argument is missing. So I tried
It returns: "TNS: protocol Adapter error" which I somehow can understand, since the adapter doesn't know to wich db to connect.I also tried to use some frameworks like soci or otl but was never able to compile them... (link errors, unknown data types etc...).
I have recently installed Oracle Express 10g Server on my local PC. I can successfully connect to this while bypassing the TNSNAMES from SQLTools, I can't however connect to this from Forms 10g or while using SQLTools with TNSNAMES. How do I configure my TNS names to use this server?
I Have installed the oracle database 11g, the oracle database mobile server and i use Glassfish as the application server. Everything is fine i have tested the mobile server configuration using Oracle mobile server workbench the mobile server runs but when i want to connect to the mobile manager workspace via the browser using
[URL].......
I have a server error HTTP 404- The requested resource () is not available .
I am using the following piece of code to close the connection to the oracle database, I am using the context created in the previous step and passing it to the below code(connection.context)to release the connection.
if (connection.context == 0 || connection.ca == 0) return true; // Multithreading: get the communication area of the context struct sqlca & sqlca = *(connection.ca); EXEC SQL BEGIN DECLARE SECTION;
[code].....
When the above code is executed there is no exception thrown but the connection is not getting close. I am using the V$SESSION system views to monitor the connection created.
I there anything I am missing in my code for the connection closing to fail.
we have a production database 'X'. Now i have created a test database 'T' and did'nt configured another listener to it! The issue is when i cam connecting to oracle through sqlplus i am directly connecting to Test database 'T' but not the production database 'X'----ofcourse i can login to production DB afterwards. but initially i want to access the production database 'X'.
Aim: Architecture change in existing application Domain: Health Care Background: There are 2 application ( Front end: one in oracle forms - deals with accounts module and another in some legacy application - deals with patient, clinical and diagnose module) using and sharing the same Oracle 9i database.
Patient related modules are moved into another database ( java as a front end, oracle 10g as backend ) which is normalized - eliminating duplicate tables and column, also its tables and columns names are not matching with existing (patient)system.
Now the requirement is making the existing application related only to Accounts module ( having complicated business logic written in packages ) to work as it is without changing the code, design drastically.
Questions:
1. Now how best this task can be completed without affecting existing Accounts system drastically ( with minimal changes )? 2. what are the possible best approach to achieve this ? 3. what are the best way for communicating the 2 DB in this scenario ( may be creating synonym, views etc ) ? 4. What are challenges that needs to be addressed ?
I´m just having a problem whit the connection between Oracle Forms 6i and Oracle Database 11G. Is just when i login to the database schema i cant log in using Forms.
TNS Names its already configured, No problems when i log in using Toad and using the TNS Names from Developer's 6i tool. I can log in just when i change the schema(user) password from the database (thats the rarest thing) and log into the application.
So whenever i want to login to the application i must to change the schema password, i need to use it directly.
I was install windows 7 on my computer, oracle database10g and forms 10g installed successfully. I Cannot run forms on the browsers , how i can run my programs
I have one PDA device. I need to run a Oracle form developed in Oracle forms 6i on this PDA by connecting it to the Oracle 10G database running on Linux Server.
I need to know is there any Oracle client for windows 6.0 OS. if yes then how can i install it on PDA and access the Oracle database through forms.
I am using Oracle forms 6i. I want to create an application that does not require any connection with Oracle database. My Application fetch all its data from an Excel file. I do not want Login with Database,so i want to bypass it. How can i do it ?
I've created a database package which is having record type and one procedure. I want to execute or call this package from oracle 6i form. How to do this.
