Forms :: Run Form From Formbuilder Doesn't Connect To DB

I have DevSuite 10g on my XP. Running a form from frombuilder, for testing or debugging purposes for example, always worked. I am using OC4J.Now we moved the DB-User, to which I normally connected in the above scenario, to another DB-Instance, but left username and password unchanged. I changed my connection in formbuilder to the new destination and formbuilder succeeds when connecting to the DB. Compile etc. all ok.But running a form from formbuilder raises ORA-01017. After that, the forms logon screen is shown and has exctly the username and ORACLE-SID defaulted with my connection in formbuilder itself (only username is "upper"ed).
So apparently the formbuilder connection information or oarts of it is passed to the runtime. When I then give the password in the logon screen connecting succeeds. How is the connect information from formbuilder passed to the runtime?
When i'm trying to connect my already-existing database, i get an error: "ORA-12505,TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor.The Connection descriptor used by the client was: localhost:1521:xe".
i can't loose the builted tables and the information stored in them.My listener.ora file is :
I cann't commit form when new instance form with form status is "NEW".
And then i call: Text_Item := WebUtil_File.File_Selection_Dialog('', '', 'Excel 2003|*.xls|Excel 2010|*.xlsx|All File|*.*', 'Select a file to Import', Open_File, True); Form status change to "QUERY"
And then i click button "Import Data" from excel file to Data Block. Now form status change to "CHANGED". But i cannot call "Commit_Form" built-in to insert data to database oracle 10g.
I have a master block (MASTER with Item 1 and 2) and details block (DETAILS). If the user enters the query mode and queries the Master block, the Details get populated automatically. So far so good.
Now I attached an LOV to Item 1 in the Master Block and the requirement is that when the user picks an item in the LOV, the details should automatically populate. Because of "restricted procedures" (GO_BLOCK) in triggers, I put a Button in a Control Data Block and the code in the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger is as follows :
GO_BLOCK('DETAILS'); EXECUTE_QUERY;
It does go to the Details block and also displays all the details. However, when I try to update, insert or delete data, it fails with "Insufficient Privileges". So when I looked at the query being executed (Cntrl + Shift + E), I can see that it is trying to perform these operations on the Master block. (ie for some reason the scope is still in the Master and not Details even after Go_Block(DETAILS) has been executed.
I then tried to use Go_Item('DETAILS.Dept_No') to see if that would work. That too did not work. I tried to set the Navigation Style on these Data Blocks to "Change Data Block". Still no success.
im now doin' my currently program, actually they requesting for an update. I added birth date column in the module,they asked to the request to put a validation on date, such as:
a. under age b. :txt_ph_birthdate > SYSDATE c. if :txt_plan_type = 212 then 17 yrs, 5 mos and 29 days and 40 yrs, 5 mos and 29 day - as validation d. if :txt_plan_type = 214 then 40 yrs and 6 mos and 55 yrs, 5 mos and 29 days - as validation e. if :txt_plan_type = 215 then 17 yrs, 5 mos and 29 days and above - as validation
they also instructed me to put the validations in birth date after the column of birthdate, which is the :txt_plan_type(list_item) and i put it in TRIGGER (when-validate-item)after i did the codes and compile it., theres no message for error but i think its not working..it working. i already updates also the insert and the other trigger and procedure, i just add the plan type on it.
i havent edit the save button because the as i read the codes the it just call the procedure that i edit.when i run the program and after i encode the data..and when i press the save button, nothing happens or any confirmation.in addition, why is it that my validation on age doesnt work?
I want to call a Web form which should upload the image from my local machine.For that I have created a form which will take necessary data about employee now I want to Insert Image for that employee into table as I am new I struct on the Image uploading form. Latter I have seen the Enter & Maintain form which have Picture button.Pressing this button we get one new web form open & we can upload our image from there.
I have FORM_A calling FORM_B: Call_form('FORM_B',...). On form_B I am updating a Record and when I close Form_B and the focus goes back to Form_A, I need to Automatically Reload Form_A to reflect the changes that were made on Form_B.
How can I reload the Calling Form (FORM_A) when I closed the called form (FORM_B)?
regarding grants given on object doesn't reflect on Oracle forms 6i.When my developer compiled the form the error throws object was not declared which means oracle form not able to access the object which is synonym of other table.Also we recreated the synonym and given grants from table owner and compiled form still throws same error,But i can able to select object from backend command but not from oracle forms.
grants reflect in oracle forms after we restart the database.
I am trying to make a particular field (called reason_code) "required" on a form I am working on. Now this field has two fields before it, and I have to tab to reach my reason_code field.
But the functionality I want is that when I tab into the reason_code field, the WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger should fire even when this field is NULL.
IF :REASON_CODE IS NULL THEN MESSAGE ("Please enter a reason code!"); end if;
The trigger doesn't fire when I don't enter a reason_code field and I can tab past this field and not get the ("Please enter a reason code!") error message.
On researching the problem, I saw that this field has to be of status "CHANGED" in order for the trigger to fire.
I want to convert my forms6i application into forms9i therefore I initially converted my login and explorer form.
In my login form, I am using NEW_FORM to close my login form and wants to activate my explorer form but every time a pop-up raised and asked "DO YOU WANT TO CALL THE NEW FORM?", if I pressed YES then pointer moved to explorer form.
This form is working perfectly in 6i and didn't asked anything and moved to successfully to explorer form.
I created a new form for Oracle Apps, At first when I ran the form from the application all the fields backgrounds were black, so I changed the background in the property palette to white and foreground to black.
Now it shows fine but when I close this form and open another those fields are now blacked out. What should I do, I know the problem comes from the new form.
I am able to connect to DATABASE from SQLAssistant only when I provide string like ABOVE........If I dont mention the SERVICE, m unable to connect to DB.Now the biggest issue is with SQL Developer.....m not at all able to connect to DB using SQL Developer.
Acer laptop, Intel Processor w/ Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) Delphi 2010 Professional Oracle XE (+ the Oracle XE client that comes with it)
I cannot can't to the Oracle database from Delphi. The error I keep getting is:
Alias is not currently opened. [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-12154:TNS: could not resolve the connet identifier specified.
Here's what I've done:
1. Create an ODBC connection to my Oracle database
- run C:WindowsSysWOW64odbcad32.exe to open the ODBC administrator. - Data source name: bt_user - TNS Server Name: localhost/xe - user bt_user - Clicked "test connection" -- Success.
2. Open Delphi and drop a TDatabase component on my main form.
- Set the Alias Name property to "bt_user" (the alias I set up in ODBC) - Set database name to "bt_user". - Checked "connected".
Alternatively, I tried using the Delphi ADO components (the dbGo components).
- Drop TADOConnection component on my form. - Select "connection string" and open the dialog. - Click "build string". - Select "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers" from the selection. - In "use data source", select "bt_user" from the drop-down list (my ODBC connection from #1) - Click "test connection".
Again the same error.
My questions are:
1. Can Delphi work with Oracle XE (Express Edition)?
2. If so, then do I need to install the "Instant Client"?
3. Will the instant client for Oracle 10g work with Oracle 10g XE?
4. Do I need to install any additional ODBC driver(s)?
5. Why was I successful in creating the ODBC connection in Windows, but it failed in Delphi?
6. Will Visual Studio.NET (C#) work with Oracle XE, and what are the steps for setting that up?
I installed oracle 10g and developed simple software using forms 6i. Its working well as a stand alone system.
I want to share it in network. so I installed forms 6i as oracle client , copied the tnsnames.ora from the oracle installation path to forms installation path.(inside NET80/Admin folder)
When i try to connect with user name and password , it comes ORA-12203 Unable to connect to destination. I checked LSNRCTL in the database machine, it is listening.
I m using Oracle Forms 6i and Oracle 10g Express Edition. I am having the following error message when I am trying to connect to the database from client.I have dont following configuration in my client's FORM's TNSNAMES.ORA file.
We had a database NSSAPP4d with only one schema say A , but now requirement is we will have two schemas in NSSAPP4d with existing schema A and new B, now both these schemas have same tables except few.
In Schema 'A' all objects had Public Synonyms which needs to be removed and instead have Private synonyms in both Schemas A & B.We will have a proxy user for which all Private synonyms for all objects will be created.
I have created a proxy user e.g. MJ_TEST_PROXY with necessary privileges.I have created other user MJ_TEST with necessary privileges.Now I am running below script
ALTER USER mj_test_proxy grant connect through mj_test with role <all roles of mj_test_proxy>
If I connect as mj_test/mj_test@NSSAPP4d then I get ORA-04067 Error.When try to connect through fron-end(forms) I need to give mj_test[mj_test_proxy]/mj_test$NSSAPP4d
I want to avoid giving proxy name , but want to connect thorough proxy.
i got static ip from witribe a broadband company in pakistan i am trying to connect database from client side computer who connect with internet when i ping my server it reply with good speed but when i try to connect database the message appear (Unable to connect Destination) but it works very well with Local Area Network computers. More how can we change port 1521 in client sides
