View 5 Replies View RelatedI need to pass two parameters (STUD_ID) and (TERM) from Form A to Form B. I've read a lot but I'm not familiar with terms and oracle jargon yet! So I really need your straight forward clarification
From the Calling form I'm using when_button_pressed trigger...what shall i write in here?! In the Called form, I'm declaring the following under (When_new_form-instance):
declare
p1_id paramlist;
stud_id number(8);
term number(5);
begin
p1_id := get_parameter_list(stud_id);
p1_id := get_parameter_list(term);
:TEST_STUD_CRSE_REG.stud_id :=:parameter.stud_id;
:TEST_STUD_CRSE_REG.term :=:parameter.term;
next_block;
end;
-----------------
on the calling form:when_button_pressed I am using:
DECLARE
p1_id paramlist;
stud_id number(8);
term number(5);
BEGIN
call_FORM('test16SEP',NO_HIDE);
GO_BLOCK('TEST_STUD_CRSE_REG');
set_block_property('TEST_STUD_CRSE_REG',default_where,'STUD_ID=:TEST_STUDENT_INFO.STUD_ID');
execute_query;
END;
I want to create table from query with passing parameters
create table as temp

Data is entered in few boxes, and then when a link is clicked, it goes to another page, but i want to pass the text in the text boxes, and the selected value from the dropdown also, to be passed as parameters to this link... But since these values are not yet saved, its not getting passed.. like it is something like this in the address bar add_new_event?&event_ id= &event_ name= & event_dt=

How can we pass multiple parameters to cursors?
Ex: Cursor C_employees(C_empid number, C_cityname varchar2) is select emp_name, office_name from employee where employees where empid = c_empid and city = c_city_name;
I know we can pass one parameter to the cursor but I do not know how to pass multiple parameters.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Pro*C program, which uses a dynamic query. The dynamic query is opened using result of another static cursor( 5 fields say , :a, :b , :c, :c, :d).
I am modifying the dynamic query and adding UNION for some requirement , which makes this dynamic query exactly double in size. ( means 2 set of prev. queries are joined by UNION, with one extra condition though).
The question is , Do I need to pass 2 set of variable to open the dynamic query now?
Like earlier , program was passed with (:a, :b , :c, :c, :d)
so now i should pass (:a, :b , :c, :c, :d , :a, :b , :c, :c, :d)?
1. I m building a form in which students will file some data (name, address, etc) but i want to send a parameter on the URL i send them (their student ID number), which will be saved together with the data the end-users save.
e.g the form i m building is [URL]
can i add in the end of the URL the student_id of the end of the URL?
so it will be something like [URL]
So when student #10 will hit the URL on his browser, once he inputs hsi data and press SAVE button, on the database i can save STUDENT_ID=10 and the rest info he just entered?
2. Which is the login URL for end users? i have only the workspace login now..

I am working on oracle 10g forms.my menu is so long and I want to add a vertical scroll bar to my menu .
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have created a Menu in forms 6i,

how can i get this..?
REMEMBER !! I WANT TO GET MENU ITEM NAME IN RUNTIME , WHICH IS CREATED IN DESIGN TIME.
I am using Developer 10g R2. From menu module i want to check the status of the report server. also when the status is shutdown then reportserver will be start otherwise run the report.
Programatically how can i do this.
In forms 11 g, whenever, We did any menu change, and deploy in server, same changes are not reflecting in clients machine immediatly. I even stop forms services and restart.After some time... generally after 1 day, it reflect the new changes.In forms 10G, I never face this issue. As soon as i close the old menu and re-open, new changes reflect.

I built a form in 10g and I want to replace the oracle menu with my menu, so I wrote the code
replace_menu('TA_MENU.MMX',null, null);
in the new form instance trigger but when I run the form it gave me this error
"frm-10221 can not read the fiel TA_MENU".
what have I do to fix this error?
what is the basic workaround to provide to switch from one form to another form via custom-menu at runtime?
I attached a menu-item to every of my forms and I can call them seperately from the forms builder. But I am not able to switch between the forms then. If I am clicking on a menu-item, I get frm-40010.
P.S. I'd prefer to close the current form, if the new form has been opened. Do I have to control this seperately or is the closing of the last form default?
In one of my projects I am exporting a couple of views into a flat file. The export utility is generic and uses dynamic sql to generate a flat file. We have a test environment and a production environment. On both the code is the same. We noticed that the output is different between the environments although it is supposed to be the same. If I export a view in the production I will get a record like this:
0020110107O0000000001|OTHER|07.01.11 08:06:00,296000|07.01.11 08:04:41,008000||0|0|EUR||NOT_FROZEN|MVOIP||IS_NORMAL_VERSION|MODIFIED|6863475590797607166|8648564326455689103|8011808169304472215|||CCP||||10000580||||DEKA|PS
In the test environment it will be like this:
0020110107O0000000001|OTHER|07-JAN-11 08.06.00.296000 AM|07-JAN-11 08.04.41.008000 AM||0|0|EUR||NOT_FROZEN|MVOIP||IS_NORMAL_VERSION|MODIFIED|6863475590797607166|8648564326455689103|8011808169304472215|||CCP||||10000580||||DEKA|PS
The code I am running is not changing any settings explicitly. It looks like this and it will be run as EXECUTE IMMEDIATE:
DECLARE
v_sql VARCHAR2 (32000);
v_sql_count NUMBER := 0;
v_error VARCHAR2 (4000);
v_new_file UTL_FILE.file_type;
BEGIN
[code]........
I also tried to do the following on production in order to get it equal to the test environment:
BEGIN
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'ALTER SESSION SET NLS_LANGUAGE = AMERICAN '
|| 'NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS = ''.,'''
|| 'NLS_TIMESTAMP_FORMAT = ''DD-MON-RR HH.MI.SSXFF AM''';
END;
This would change the formatting for the timestamp columns for almost all files. Almost. Two of those files remain unchanged and still show the decimal separator from the old setting:
0020110107O0000000001|OTHER|07-JAN-11 08.06.00,296000 AM|07-JAN-11 08.04.41,008000 AM||0|0|EUR||NOT_FROZEN|MVOIP||IS_NORMAL_VERSION|MODIFIED|6863475590797607166|8648564326455689103|8011808169304472215|||CCP||||10000580||||DEKA|PSAny

I called an application from Oracle forms using: Client_Host('cmd /c START "" "\localPathmyApplication.exe"'); This works fine on local as well as server.
But when I use the same command to call the application directly from the MENU ITEM, it gives error alert: "WebUtil Error: oracle.forms.webutil.host.Host bean not found. WEBUTIL_HOST.Execute will not work."
I even tried using DDE.App_Begin(). This gives error: ORA-106561. How can I call any application (.exe) directly from the menu item on the server?
