I am trying to open the url from the form and block the form when working on the url.I am able to block the form when working on notepad, adobe and word doc by using the below code
CLIENT_HOST('CMD /C NOTEPAD '||fname);
CLIENT_HOST('cmd /c "c:/web_util[1].pdf"');
and when I use CLIENT_HOST( 'cmd /C "C:/Program Files/Internet Explorer/iexplore.exe" www.google.com'); it is opening the www.google.com but unable to block the form when working on google webpage.
I am using oralce forms 10.1.2.3 and the browser is IE8.
I'm facing some problem even after using INSTR function in Oracle.The problem is I have written the logic in the PL/SQL block which appends all the values fetched in a loop on the basis of whether the string is present or not.
For ex:
The first value fetched from the select query first is ABCDEFG which gets appended to a variable
The next value fetched is AB even this has to be appended to the variable since this exactly doesn't match with ABCDEFG.
The next value fetched is BCDEF even this has to be appended to the variable since this exactly doesn't match with ABCDEFG.
The third Value fetched is ABCDEFG this will not get appended presently according to the logic which is correct.
writing that piece of code to append the value fetched which doesn't exactly match with the existing string
We have taken export expdp backup from prod database (primary database- Data Guard).
1.) Import impdp is very slow 10GB/Hrs on staging database (Data Guard MAXIMUM AVAILBILITY)Since Server configuration, database version and configuration, operating system everything are same as production. No blocking, locking or waiting sessions
2.)import impdp is fast 90GB/Hrs on Test standalone database and this test database is running in NOARCHIVE LOG mode with oracle standard version after that no more difference.
CPU,Memory,network and disk I/O are look normal while importing on both databases.why that much difference on import.
ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows.
I receive this error because i tried to introduce the below coding in a post query of the block.
begin
select supplier_cd into :fin_ex_rev_head.vendor_code
from fin_ex_rev_receipts
where receipt_date
between :keyblock.receipt_date
[code].....
I have a requirement to read a file from windows m/c and write into Unix Server. How can i do that in Oracle forms.
I tried TEXT_IO package.But that is not allowing to access Unix path.
I have a master-detail form on which i have 2 buttons. save button and another location button in detail.on location button i am calling a form and updating location of the material entered in detail(tabular).
The thing is my form should not get save without updating location for each record entered in detail(tabular).if user try to save form without updating or pressing location button it should give message PLEASE UPDATE YOUR LOCATION.
I want to copy files from one location to another in forms6i on when button pressed.i m using the following code.
DECLARE
cpf_source VARCHAR2(500) := 'c: est.txt';
cpf_target VARCHAR2(500) := 'c:data';
begin
WIN_API_UTILITY.copy_file(cpf_source,cpf_target,TRUE);
end;
But i press the button it generates FRM-40734,
internal Error : PL/SQL error occurred.
I have a delete button at the bottom of the form and have two blocks on top of it. I need to know which block i have the focus on or selected the record on pressing the delete button so that I go to that block and do a delete_record from that block. I came across :system.trigger_block which says it gives the name of the block where the cursor was located when the current trigger initially fired. But whenever i use it only returns the name of the block the delete button is located in. Instead i wanted to know where the focus of the cursor was or which record was selected in the above 2 blocks to go to that block and delete the record.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need any good suggestion basically I have two different location
1- Factory
2- Head office
I have developed PRODUCTION module in factory and it is working fine and now I want to send data on daily basis to head office therefore I develop a form which will create backup in export format (.dmp) then user will send via email to head office.
Backup file should be save in pre-defined location then user will use a form which I developed for loading data into head office there are two different buttons in this form;
First is used to load data, actually first I load data in a temporary user which creates whenever user will press this button. Second is used to copy data in application user but first it checks if data exists then update otherwise insert.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Problem related to performance and quickness of a customized application
suppose that this application work on 2 clients. Those 2 clients logon to the same database and the same mapping application folder also the 2 PC configuration are the same.
the first client has OS windows XP , the second client has OS Windows 7. I noticed that the the second client (win7) is less performance than the first one (win xp) also I saw the application on the second client is slower than the first client.
I know that Oracle 6i on win7 is dis supported . Also i know i should upgrade to 10g or change the OS to xp. But is this the only way for enhancing the performance or is there another way i can do without changing anything (Patch , etc)

I've looked in several places, OTN, Google, various DBA forums to figure out if the way we have a client installed on a network drive is supported by Oracle - short of asking them if it's supported.
The configuration we have is a full 10g R2 client installed on a network drive, and the various environment variables (Oracle_Home, TNS_ADMIN, etc.) point to that network location for use by client machines (I'm also trying to see if the Instant client is supported on a network location as well.) We've had this set up for years which has served us well.
A co-worker remembers years ago that this set up wasn't supported, Oracle 8 or so was his thought as to what version was used then. Another coworker at an Oracle conference asked this same question and was told that it was supported, however we can't find any documentation to that effect.
Now the question arises as to whether or not using a client installed on a networked drive is a supported configuration for 10g R2 or higher, and if so, where it would be documented.
We are in the process of changing network topology and are reviewing whether this configuration is still the right thing for us or if clients should be installed locally to where they are used.
we need to find the key pressed action and key release action on Oracle form 10g. On key pressed (i.e. key-up, key-down, key-page-up and key- page-down) the event will be fired and as soon as the user release the key, the event will be stop.
As current situation, we have one form which contains the database blocks. As per search condition, all the data populated in Database block, there are 1000 and more records. Now user going use any of key (i.e. key-up, key-down, key-page-up and key-page-down) as he pressed key ( say Key- down) it scrolled down but as soon as he release the key, the event is not stopped. its going on going down then stop.
Is it possible, as user release the key scrolling will stopped at same time ?

I have an oracle application (Froms 6i) that is being accessed from a PC client running Windows 7 Professional. Whenever I try to access the the application I get a "Oracle Forms Runform has stopped working" error. I tried installing the runtime over and over again withn no use. This is not the first problem I encounter with "Windows 7- Oracle 6i" combination.

I have a object library which has multiple tabs and every tab has its own object. While compiling, the forms are not inheriting the object values only few values from the object are considered.
