When an user enters a value in a field of a Screen, I want to query up the next screen records based on that user input value in the previous screen.The previous screen is based on a control block i.e.
Q_EMP
items- Q_EMP.emp_id, Q_EMP.FY, Q_EMP.hire_flag.
I'm using Oracle forms 10g. In the form i have this multiple records under one block. After performing the query, all records are cannot be updated. And i have this buttons at the right side that will enable the certain item that can only be updated. My problem is i cannot enable the item in the first record,instead of first record all records in that item was enable.

Say, Block A has 5 items, Item1, Item2,.. Item5. When I enter Enter-Query mode, Item2 of block A is not cleared and rest all are cleared.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a form which contains two canvas.In the first canvas, i have a data block which contains two columns(database item of both are no). In second canvas i have a list item.
My problem is how to pass the value(s) of this data block to the item list which is present in second canvas.
The requirement user has given is such that the user will enter different categories, and in the second canvas where the main datablock is present, will contain a list item in data block which should show the data entered by the user.
I am modifying an existing form and wanted to do this with less number of modifications. The existing form has one checkbox item ( displayed and attached to database)..and its not in use ( was created for some enhancement that never implemented but code is there)..and in the form at several places its mentioned/calculated based on Updatabale/Enable/Queryable/Insert..all properties.
Since I want to use the same position of this check box so ..i simply detached the canvas from this item..it compiles fine but when login into application it gives al those errors like..FRM--item not update able.etc etc..
Is there any property to just hide an item inspite having related codes in the form ?

I have a Master block and a Detail Block. They are related using two columns, Document_ID and Page_no. I want to display all the records in master table with corresponding detail records beside them in single line. i.e., as shown below:
MasterItem1 DetailItem1 DetailItem2 DetailItem3
I created the relation between them and executed query. When I execute query in the form, I can find that all the Master Items are displayed in vertical records, but i can only see one record of detail fields. They are displayed as shown below:

mitem1-value2
mitem1-value3
mitem1-value4
When the navigate down in master items, then the corresponding detail values are being shown on the same first record.
i want to insert a record in table when one of item in database block is filled..from which property i knw my one of field in block is filled or not.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the scenario where I have a table(table 1) which stores the car code and the meaning of that code. I then have another table (table 2)which just stores the code. My datablock is based on the table which just contains the code(table 2). On my form if the user wishes to populate this field in the record I have a Lov which goes to the table 1 and retrieves the code and the meaning of it.
The code is then returned to the corresponding field in the datablock for table 2. this works fine in adding and editing. the user sees the meaning and whilst selecting from the lov populates the code field behind the scenes and everything works fine. However, my problem is when the user does a query only the code field is populated from table 2 (the code field is hidden to the user) therefore the meaning field is left blank as if there is no data there when in fact this is not the case.
I am having trouble changing a non-displayed field when a displayed field is changed.
When a user wants to un-assign a territory they want to just null the ID field (non-database item). I then need to null the PIDM field(not visible, database item) for that one record.
I tried this, but I end up putting null on all the records instead of just the one record, which ends up un-assigning all the territories not just the one.
Is there a way to assign the null to the PIDM field associated to the ID field of that particular record.
I have control block. In which user enters two values. Next is data block in which two items have property 'copy value from item' set to 'control block.item1' and 'control block.item2' resp. If thees items are made database items then in execute query will they be sent as parameters in addition to default where clause? if I check last query then query does not hv these parameters but the records returned are already filtered by control block items.

I have one tabular block on the canvas and there is one check box on this block. I want that when I uncheck this checkbox, one item on the current record gets disabled.
i manage to turn all the records enabled or disabled.

I am creating a record with the items - S_No, Product_Name, Selling_Qty, Price.
Checking the total qty (Tot_Qty) from the purchase stock - table1 and already sold out qty (Sold_Qty) of the product from table2.
Consider the following values: Tot_Qty = 200; Sold_Qty = 50;
Now i create a first record of the form as follows: here on selecting the Product_name from LOV, will display the Selling_Qty item - which can be edited (Selling_Qty = Tot_Qty - Sold_Qty) and its price.

My prob is, when i am entering next record, it displays the same 150 as qty, which have to be 100. After selecting the product from LOV, it should calculate & validate as shown below: which means, previous record value of Selling_Qty also have to be subtracted and displayed.

Is there any built-in functions to retrieve previous record value?
We have a master detail form block A (master) contains an item, this item is in the record group's where-clause used to fill a list item on block B (detail block) (database item) we fille the list item in a pre-record trigger on the master block this works fine but when we navigate through the records in block a we intermittently get the following error : FRM-41337 : cannot populate the list from record group;
how should we filll our list item, in which trigger (when-new-record-instance of master block doesn't work correctly, the list item only gets filled after clicking it twice)
i have form have one multi record block and sing record block. In multi record block having an item namely Excise_value. I want to find the sum of total Excise_Value for all the record. How to accomplish this.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a form w/a tab canvas. BlkA is on Tab1 and Blk2 is on Tab2. In BlkA I have several items that have when-validate-item triggers. However, the trigger does not fire when I enter a value into item1 of BlkA followed by clicking on Tab2. To solve, I placed validate(form_scope) in the When-Tab-Page-Changed trigger. This works well with invoking the validation. However, focus remains on Tab2 (Blk2).
I would like focus to return to failed validation item in Blk1. I can capture the block name using :system.cursor_block in the Post-Block trigger of BlkA, assign that value to a form parameter and when a validation fails via the When-Tab-Page-Changed trigger I can return user back to BlkA(Tab1). However, I need direction on how to return user to the specific item in BlkA that failed validation
I have a multi-record block with several text items.
On one of the text items i want to enter a value and then check whether the same value for the item has already been entered on any other records within the block.
If it has already been entered then i want to display a message and null out the field.
I have tried using app_record.for_All_records from a when-validat-item trigger but this does not work as you get a 'FRM-40737 Illegal restricted procedure go_block in when-validate-item trigger ' error
I am trying to disable mouse navigation on data block or text item,. What i want is to my text items in specified block be keyboard navigable only.
The problem is that i don't have that option on text_items or data block (my conclusion: probably because it is not possible to change mouse navigate option for text item or data block).
I have also tried in WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger

and of course it did not work.
I created a block for EMP table on tabular style. if in first line empno entered is 1then i don't want to allow the end user to enter 1 in second line. but when-validate-item is not working because first_record and next_record is not allowed. I need to validate before saving the data into emp table and immediately after empno is entered into empno item.

Check Box Items are in default layout. The requirement is when user checks/un-checks that select all check box which is placed on the left hand side of the other check boxes, it should select/deselect all the check box database items in that particular record.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a form in which the user selects values above from a LOV and then selects a run query button which then uses the values selected in the LOV to refine the query and output the appropriate values.
What i have done in the pre-query trigger is: (the block i am querying is called cars where the block i am selecting values from the LOV is called selection)
:cars.make := :selection.make; (repeated for other fields)
this worked fine untill i introduced a from and to date in my form in which i passed the data through to the query like this:

Now i have added the above bit of code the from and to date work fine, but when a car make is selected it still bring back every car make and not just the one selected.
is it possibly because i am setting the where clause in the block property? perhaps i need to now incoperate my other selections into this where clause? are the two blocks exclusive to eachother? and if i put the whole code into the block property I assume i will get problems. E.G. the user leaves a selection criteria blank (if they want to query all car models they wouldnt select one from the list) i assume the query would only return back values which contain no car model which would be 0 records.
This is my first post in the form and also i'm new to oracle forms technology.
I have the following issue:
In my form i have two Text-Fields to store some information for a claim:
A --> Profit and
B --> Loss
(only one of the filed can have value)
Also i have a data block where i store the reason of the claim (status). Reason can take three values 1, 2, 3. For each claim i can have more than one reasons stored in db table.
if the user input more than one reasons, then if one of them is 1 Profit should be set unprotected and Loss should be set to protected.
I have the following issue.
user creates a records with reason 1 : Profit text field is set to unprotected and Loss text filed is set protected.
user creates another record with reason 2: Profit text field is set to Protected and Loss text filed is set to unprotected. --> wrong
How can i validate the values of the two records and create the desired functionality?
I have used the POST-TEXT-ITEM trigger but it works correct only for one record. i insert two records with the above order i have the issue i describe.
I want to delete records from block in the form.could you explain where(in which trigger) should i write set_block_property.

I have for example two text items(number of records to display is set to 9). What I want is when i go to studentprofile block, it should automatically shows his subjects that are already taken up. the first text item is for 1st semester subjects and the other for 2nd semester.

Actually m working on oracle 10g forms. I have a list item in which no. of records displayed is 10. I am populating this list item through a record group. I want when user select a value from first record then he should not be able to select the same value in further record of that list item.

I have 2 blocks, namely addsubject3rd and chosensubjects. I'm copying the selected records(this comes with checkboxes) from the 1st block to the second block. But what happened is that it copied all the records that are on the addsubject3rd. How can I copy only selected records(checkboxes) from addsubject3rd block to chosensubjects blocks?
