Error - FRM-18103:Failed to initialize the Development Environment I have installed Oracle 11g and Oracle Developer Suite 10g in separate oracle homes.
When I try to open Oracle form builder I am receiving 'FRM-18103:Failed to initialize the Development Environment' error.
We are facing space crunch in our 4 development 11i ERP environment servers and decided to reclaim the space . We are having 11.1.0.7 Database . What we observed is, there are many objects present in the recyclebin and we went on to purge the reclybin of MSC user.

But even after purging the recycle bin of MSC User , we didn't find any changes in DBA_FREE_SPACE for those tablespaces in which recyclebin objects were present. We would have seen the freed space in dba_free_space.
i'm trying to install a development-environment. The production- and testing-environmens are working, but i have problems with the development.
I installed Oracle 10g XE 10.2.0.1.0 and Apex 4.1.1.00.23 on my Oracle VM Virtual Box (Windows 7 Professional 64 bit).
127.0.0.1:8080/apex works from the Virtual Box.
192.168.11.42:8080/apex (the IP in my network) and 192.168.11.42:8080 work either from the Virtual Box.
But it doesn't work from other clients in my network. So far i tried exec dbms_xdb.setlistenerlocalaccess(false).

This code makes me unlucky while run that jsp report on web and comes up with orror no out put for the job.RegEdit REPORTS_CLASSPATH set to my oraclebarcode.jar with others jar files.
At Report builder web layout works fine [With Barcode generation] but not through Report server.
RAC installation on vmware is failing with following errors. I followed below link for installation. URL..... Found the following errors:

i am reinstalling oracel 11g in my window 7 64 bit machine after i uninstalled it. however, i got an issue that is environment variable path failed in the installation process. this didn't happen when i firstly successfully installed oracle.

I've found a manual [URL] by which I am trying to do it.I took backup sets from last night's backup using RMAN,and the current parameter(initSID.ora) file from the running live database.Now i need to configure control files in the pfile accordingly.
1. can i take current control files from the running system, to restore and recover backup sets from last night, to the state the database was at backup time?
2. how can i find out if control files are backed up and know by RMAN? "list backup completed after '2012-JUN-19';" >> gives me Archive redo logs, datafiles, but don't see the control files(or don't reconize them).

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have an application, where we invoke a URL pointing to a folder on the Application Server, so that users can download files from the same.
There is user authentication provided for the URL.
Example :
Our application ABC (example) which is built with Oracle Forms 10g, hosted on Application server (itxxx123) inovkes a module GEN9999 which on pressing a button calls a URL which is open in the Internet Explorer browser.
If the URL has been called from the Forms or the Application (ABC), then it should be allowed.
If the URL is called standalone, by Opening IE Browser and invoking the URL, this should not be allowed.
However, there have been security concerns raised during Audit, saying that users can access the URL directly from the Browser instead of the Application. Also the URL is saved the Browser history, so even if the user is no longer working in the Application Team, and has moved out of the team, then the ex-user can still access the URL and view and download files.
Is there any way to restrict access to the URL such that is only accessible when it is called from the Application, and that access is restricted when directly called from the Browser.
I have seen that environment variables in httpd.conf may be usable for the above. However, not sure how to use them from Oracle Forms.

I'm having some hard times with attempts to initialize a set of values, Of a specific column from a table into a variable containing it as an array(like a single column table).

Then I am trying to compile a function that gets a parameter - a number. The function should check whether this number exists in this list(return 1), or not(return 0).
I want to initialize key1 column of table TEST_TAB *into* v_my_array(this will be my list), just to see that I can have a set of values in this variable. Then I will want to see if the number is in that list, and return 1 or 0 accordingly.
I get the following error compiling, and can't seem to understand what's wrong:

I have several forms developed in Oracle forms builder 10g version 9.0.4.0.19. It contains Hierarchical Tree items. when i run this form on this version of oracle, it's running properly. but when i compile and run it on oracle forms 10 version 10.1.2.0.2, it shows an error message stating Assertion Failed!, if I click on the Tree item. I cant find out what and where the problem is. If I build a new form with tree item, it is working properly.

The application works on other people's Windows machine with their Oracle DB. But it doesn't work from my machine connecting to their Oracle instance. So I guess the issue does not come from my instance but rather from my Oracle dlls maybe?

1 - check the environment variable Oracle_home and modify if it ending by ""
2 - or try tho run my promt command as Administrator.
I try the both, but only the second works. while now i don't understand why it works when i start the promt command as Administrator and why it no works when i don't run it like administrator. Another thing is i am the only user of my computer, i have only one session (administor session).

I have a JSP that works with an Oracle 9i database.
On my local windows workstation where I developed the JSP the application processes very quickly working with the Oracle database. The JSP application on the Production Intranet web server connecting to the same Schema processes very slow sometimes during the day. During off hours the Production Intranet JSP with Oracle processes quicker.
There is only one user for the application and I dont understand why the same application using the same database runs so much slower sometimes on the production server compared to my local workstation.

I already tried to use "yum install emacs" as I mentioned in Re: How to Install emacs, openssh and start oracle database and get a connect? and it appears that the repository for "yum" is not correct.
"yum install httpd" does not work either.
When I tried "sudo yum install httpd" it says
"Sorry, user oracle is not allowed to execute '/usr/bin/yum install httpd' as root on localhost.localdomain."
I get the same message for "sudo yum isntall emacs".
