Apr 9, 2013I am in the process of recovering a database from an ASM environment to a non-ASM environment using RMAN. I've got a query to generate the command to RENAME the file:

When I run the query, this is an example of the result I get:
ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE '+FRA/db1/onlinelog/group_3.259.766075171' TO '/u01/data/dev/group_3b.log';
ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE '+DATA/db1/onlinelog/group_1.262.766075829' TO '/u01/data/dev/group_1a.log';
But I want to replace the "group" with "redo" and get the below result:
ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE '+FRA/db1/onlinelog/group_3.259.766075171' TO '/u01/data/dev/redo_3b.log';
ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE '+DATA/db1/onlinelog/group_1.262.766075829' TO '/u01/data/dev/redo_1a.log';

I use below set environment variable.

SQL> set linesize 3999;
SQL> set feedback off;
SQL> set feedback off;

In ouput file , it look like

I am trying to import data in the following user : core_edb_20112_ct/local
This user is already created , using the tablespace named C64_EDB_TS
The dmp file resides in the location dir_core20112 ( e:\oracle)
I am getting the following error while i try to import

'HH2_SGH21_SS' is a schema I dont have access to. I have a whole bunch of schemas like this and would like to get versions of all those schemas putting it in a loop in pl/sql.
1: whats the best way get this output to a variable.
2: whats the best way to get the output to a file.

Jul 19, 2012I am calling a stored procedure from a shell script. This stored procedure is having a CLOB object as an OUT parameter. How to write the data in CLOB object a existing file which is there in my client system. Below is the shell and sql scripts.

ksh: kill: 19258: No such process
If I do a ps -ef | grep scp its showing the process running, but if i try to kill it, its showing me error.

Forms Host Command Cannot Copy To Network Drive
Oct 3, 2013I am using the HOST command within Oracle Forms 10g on Windows server to copy a pdf file from the application server to a network folder on another Windows server.
The command works fine if I logon to Windows app server and type it. But it doesn't work when it is launched within Oracle forms using HOST. The command looks as follow
net use \\FileServer\e-file /user:usergroup\username password & copy D:\RepTmp\myReport.pdf \\FileServer\e-file\test\myReport.pdf
Oracle forms doesn't give any error message at all but the pdf file never gets there. Even when I map the network folder as "R:" drive on the Windows app server, a simple copy command like this does not work with HOST:
copy D:\RepTmp\myReport.pdf r:\test\myReport.pdf
Oracle Forms server is running as "SYSTEM" on the Windows server. If HOST won't work, is there any other way to copy the file other than using fpt?

Jul 29, 2010 I have a form which will call another and do some transactions and come back to original form and do other processes. save if successful. or roll back with error message.i m doing POST when i exit from the called form. and continue process in calling form. if any error, i m raising an error message with rollback.
But sometimes, it is getting committed with that error trn. especially in new database, first time try the scenario, it any error comes then getting commited.I m not able to find where the commit is happening? if any other sessions commit will affect this trn?

Jun 15, 2012i'm using db and forms 10g. i want the output of the form to be embedded within a simple html page. lets say i want the html page to be divided into three frames. the uppermost horizontal frame will hold a banner (say). the left vertical frame will hold some advertisement (say).
(1) now the rest of the page will be covered by the third frame in which the fmx's will run.
(2) i want the login.fmx (startup form) to show up first instead of the servlet. infact the servlet should not show up at all.

Mar 30, 2011The form which i developed is for Multiple user. i.e many no of user upload the same csv file at the same time. To differentiate it 4r the user i gave the user name in Prefix. say the users name are xx and yy and the file name is test.csv. In the kentucky server it is loaded as "xx_test.csv" and "yy_test.csv". It loaded along with Double quotes.I used the varible to get loaded
l_bare_filename := '"'||v_username||'_'||substr(:FIC_SOURCE,instr(:FIC_SOURCE,'',-1)+1)||'"';
l_bare_filename is that variable.
When i tried to null the csv file it is not created as Double quotes in Kentucky server. say it is displaying xx_test.csv file. Below is the command for making null. I used the same variable
host('cat /dev/null > /tmp/'||l_bare_filename )
I want it to be displayed with Double quotes.
