Sep 19, 2011As I was observing the space issues on my db server. I found that there is lots of Trm and Trc file which is being created very much frequently. Due to this its consuming lots of space even the size of each files is not more than 1Mb.
For cleaning I am deleting all the trm and trc files mannully using DEL command Os level. How can i schedule the purging of trm and trc files.

Feb 2, 2010We have the Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10.2.0.5. We recently upgraded our Databases from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4 and since then we are having this problem.
Whenever i click an Agent on the Grid Control it gives me this error: "Communication between the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host is unavailable. Any functions or displayed information requiring this communication link will be unavailable. For example: deleting/configuring/adding targets, uploading metric data, or displaying Agent home page information such as Agent to Management Service Response Time (ms)."
I get the same error when i try to configure a host or a database.

May 9, 2013We have Oracle 10G database over Unix platform, Customer want to reduce the size of database as much as possible and the ami of customer to move the storage area of this database to other one. so we resize some datafiles and get lots of free space at mount point but while checking the utilzation of table is showing some what different as other. Below O/P:

above all o/p is different, no able to understand it. is there any way to reset the HWM at Datafile level and how we reset the HWM of those tables having Materlized view?
Oracle 8i Best Method To Reduce DB Size?
Apr 3, 2008i got a table and it had 5000 rows of data...ive deleted around 2000 to decrease the db size but i have no success. My harddrive is still showing the same size with no increase in mb.
I've looked at shrink etc methods but some are not compatible with 8i.
I take it the db is still reserving that those deleted rows thinking it may be used again which is the reason for no increase in space.

A table reached the 2 Gb size and oracle failed due to the operating system file size limitation.
The information in the table is not relevant and can be deleted, but the table contains a lot of indexes.

ORA-39095: Dump file space has been exhausted: Unable to allocate 8192 bytes
why it failed and how to restart it and make sure it runs successfully without error.

Jul 2, 2010I have two databases on the same oracle 11g install. The first (ORCL) database uses the default port for EM (1158). However, I don't know what the second one uses. I go to the portlist.ini file, but it only has the entry for the default (ORCL) database.

Enterprise manager configuration failed due to the following error - Listener is not up. Start the listener and run EM configuration again. You can retry configuring this database with Enterprise Manager later by manually running C:\Oracle\product\11.1.0\db_1\bin\emca script.
So I try lsnrctl start and i get:
