here one biggest schema size is 250GB and the total size of all the schema's is 300GB. The file where am taking the dump has 350GB space but even then the expdp failed saying
ORA-39095: Dump file space has been exhausted: Unable to allocate 8192 bytes
why it failed and how to restart it and make sure it runs successfully without error.
We are DB users (not DBAs) and used always exp/imp bevore application upgrade.
Was googling arround and read something like "Oracle Data Pump - Time to let go of Exp / Imp". It seems exp/imp is obsolete.
Our system doesn't have "expdp" command
> find . -name expdp >
is this because of too old SQL*Plus?
> sqlplus SQL*Plus: Release 8.1.7.0.0 - Production on Tue May 29 16:05:28 2012 (c) Copyright 2000 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved. Enter user-name: ^C^C
- does our DBA need to give us privileges to run expdp/impdp?
- is that true that a expdp/impdp dump will be on the Oracle server (not the client machine)?
I want to take a schema level export .The schema size is 115 GB size . Do we require same amount of space to be available in server side (where we are taking a dump) as the schema size or less or more space is required in server side ?
I am getting ORA-39127 while taking full database export using EXPDP on oracle 10g enterprise edition 10.1.0.2 . This is production database.
Details of the errors are:
Processing object type DATABASE_EXPORT/SCHEMA/TYPE/GRANT/OBJECT_GRANT ORA-39127: unexpected error from call to export_string :=SYS.LT_EXPORT_PKG.syste m_info_exp(0,dynconnect,10.01.00.02.00',newblock) ORA-06537: OUT bind variable bound to an IN position ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_METADATA", line 5107 Processing object type DATABASE_EXPORT/DE_SYSTEM_PROCOBJACT/DE_PRE_SYSTEM_ACTION

Datapump Export completes with these 2 errors and dumpfile is generated. Are these errors Problematic. Will these errors cause problems while taking import from the dumpfile .

We have two databases running on 10.2.0.4 and 9.2.0.8. Both are having the same unpartitioned table of size 80G. I am exporting the table on 10g by using parallel=8 and dumpfile with %U option. That took around 4 hours to export the table.
And on 9.2.0.8, i am exporting using below parameters, taking around 5 hours.
buffer=2000000 recordlength=64000
options i can try to speed up the export in both versions.
Expdp directory=xxx.dmp dumpfile=aaa.dmp logfile=xxx.log FULL=Y : :: : : :: : : : ; Estimate in progress using BLOCKS method... Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/TABLE/TABLE_DATA Total estimation using BLOCKS method: 24.87 MB Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/USER
[code]...
then my export hangs..... checked in alert log nothing found.and then killed the job and reran again but same....checked the status and it's saying EXECUTING.

When i connect from sqlplus, it doesn't give any erro. What could be the reason?
I want to know how to add date/time in export dump file in Linux using parfile script. I keep getting an error "contain an invalid substitution variables"
my parfile is:
Dumpfile = Daily_Full_%U_`date "+%Y%m%d%H%S"`.dmp or Dumpfile = Daily_Full_%U_`%date%`.dmp
I have a process to export a schema using expdp and import using impdp. Everything creates successfully except for a trigger. The trigger gives and error that the table or view does not exist. The account that I use to import the schema is different than the schema user but is a highly privileged account. I notice that the schema in the create or replace trigger line of code is remapped (I am using remapping in the impdp syntax) and the rest of the syntax of the trigger (which is just a sequence trigger for a primary key column) does not have the schema. In order to fix the issue, I have my bash script log into oracle as the schema user after the import of the schema and execute the trigger code. why do I have to do this for trigger code but not for other objects like views that create just fine.
when i try to export schema using expdp i got error Like
Estimate in progress using BLOCKS method... Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/TABLE/TABLE_DATA Total estimation using BLOCKS method: 6.25 MB Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/PRE_SCHEMA/PROCACT_SCHEMA
is it possible to remap the database schema during export?
Our developers have their databases stored within individual schemas and i want to provide a dumpfile that each developer is possible to easily import to his schema. But when i want to impdp the dumpfile i have to know the schema name within the dumpfile to do a remap to the individual developers schema -> so providing a specific schema name for within the dumpfile would be great.
At the moment i'm getting the ORA-39146, schema does not exist on importing the database..
1)Want to perform an Export from a Production Schema and Import the results into Test Schema. BUT, do not want to export ALL objects from Production (only a subset of tables). Is this possible?doco on how to do this? (rather than a complete Export and then a complete Import).
2)I have 2 test instances of Oracle on the same development server, UNIT and SIT. Am using Oracle SQL Developer tool. While in the UNIT instance, is there a way to select data from the SIT instance? An example of syntax to use?
3) Can tables in the UNIT instance be compared to tables in the SIT instance, through any existing Oracle utilities
Is it possible to take this schema export in windows command prompt mode and any guess how long it would take to complete the export ?Because based on the time it takes, i am going to perform the export in windows command prompt.
i want to do a schema export from Database A. There are hundreds of users under this schema.I have to import this schema into other database say B. My question's are:
1) Do i need to pre-create only schema user or all the users under it.
2) Will the schema export all the roles,procedures,packages,synonyms,funsctions and triggers?
