Create Trigger To Execute A Stored Procedure During Source Code Compile?
Nov 9, 2009
I would like to create a trigger that will execute a stored procedure when a package/function/procedure is compiled. I tried creating an update trigger on user_objects, but it statues aI cannot create that trigger tyoe on views.
Requirement is to build procedure where it has 10-12 input variables but some of them (input variables) may at times be NULL.Based on this, i thought of getting into EXECUTE IMMEDIATE but this would just return rows i mean DML stmt for EXECUTE IMMEDIATE.Also, on the requirment is all parameters are present then result set be based on range on start and end date.
I have to write a stored procedure that accepts the post code in which the customer resides as the input parameter. The procedure should then use an explicit cursor to display comprehensive details about each customer, the number of bookings that customer has made and the total cost of all completed rentals for that customer.
The table structure is custmr - which contains details about the customer booking - contains detail abut the car booking and its details
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE SCOTT.GetEmpList(p_recordset OUT SYS_REFCURSOR) AS BEGIN OPEN p_recordset FOR SELECT * FROM scott.emp WHERE deptno=10; END GetEmpList;
Now i would like to execute this procedure in sqlplus which will display the following:
EMPNO ENAME JOB MGR HIREDATE SAL COMM DEPTNO 7782 CLARK MANAGER 7839 6/9/1981 2450 10 7839 KING PRESIDENT 11/17/1981 5000 10 7934 MILLER CLERK 7782 1/23/1982 1300 10
I just started to play with this system and don't understand how to execute the the stored procedure (that creates report) from the APEX page. I know that they have sample documentation and java script call (show below):
<script language=”JavaScript” type=”text/javascript”> function callMyRep() { var formVal1 = document.getElementById(’P_PAR1′).value; var url; url = ‘rep1?p_session_id=&SESSION.’+'&p_par1=’+ formVal1; window.location.href=”f?p=&APP_ID.:12:&SESSION.”; w = open(url,”winRep”,”Scrollbars=1,resizable=1,width=800,height=600″); Close here. X [code]....
In this example rep1 is the stored procedure that creates report.How can I execute it using url?
I have to compare my SVN source code (packages, views etc) with the production code in the database like views etc (actually we are not sure that what we have in the svn is the final version of production code, we have objects created in the production database, but we don't have latest scripts for that. we have to deploy the svn code in the UNIX box).
So here the comparison is between the OS files and the database objects.
I thought I would get scripts of all the packages, views etc from the production database by using DBMS_METADATA or some utility and save the code in OS files then compare one svn file with OS file manually by using some comparison tools e.g toad provide one comparison tool.
i try to make trigger to execute immediate create or replace view
( CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER xxxx BEFORE INSERT ON table1 REFERENCING NEW AS NEW OLD AS OLD
FOR EACH ROW declare l number ; v_ddl varchar2(4000); v_job number; [code]....
it give me error for insuffition privilage in execute immediate and after i make GRANT CREATE ANY TRIGGER TO user give me error can't commit in trigger.
I have a trigger which is calling a stored procedure that has PRAGMA AUTONOMOUS_TRANSACTION defined. The values that are passed from the trigger have been committed already but it appears that the values are not available in the stored procedure. I'm not positive of this since the ability to log/commit is difficult and the timing of the output is confusing me a bit. I'd like to know if it's expected that any passed values are simply available in the stored procedure regardless of the AUTONOMOUS_TRANSACTION?
I have a problem in my form. In my form there are 4 blocks and in one of the block i have a button. In which i put a code same as below:
BEGIN IF NAME_IN('SYSTEM.FORM_STATUS') = 'CHANGED' THEN CLEAR_FORM(NO_VALIDATE); END IF; PROCEDURE ABC; END;
So as per code i want to clear all the changes in form for current session and want to call the procedure ABC after that. But it is not calling the procedure ABC. And what would i do to perform the same?
I am trying to create a stored procedure in TOAD. I've found example code on the Internet to write a stored procedure, but it doesn't seem to work with Toad. I tried to write the procedure and execute it to save it to the DB, and instead I keep getting error messages like "an INTO clause is expected in this SELECT statement" when I used the
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE testing AS BEGIN SELECT * FROM CPK; END;
or "bad bind variable 'CPKS'" when I tried the following instead:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE testing AS BEGIN SELECT * FROM CPK; Into :Cpks; END;
post some example code here with short explanations for me on how to write a stored procedure.
I have a series of SQL scripts which contain SQL statements to create tables, populate them, create functions and stored procedures. Now I would like to execute each sql file against SQLPlus using a batch file so that I can just run this one file and all the configuration work I need to do can get done.
Problem is, when I try to execute the SQL file against SQLPlus, it gets upset with the Create Procedure/Function scripts...
I am using the following command:
sqlplus u/p@<someserver> @<path_to_sqlfile>.sql
this sql file contains create procedure pl/sql code
Is it possible create/compile SP/Functions that are contained within SQL Files using SQLPLus? Or do I have to physically write them out in SQLPLus (or load them in SQLDeveloper) to accomplish this?
creating a stored procedure that updates the points column in the teams_tbl , the value that is updated in to the points column will be retrieved from the fixture_team table. so if team a has more goals than team b then the points column for team a will be increased by 6 else if the scores are equal they get 4 points each.
Linux 2.4.21-37.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Sep 7 13:28:55 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux...As you'll see I do not understand anything about PRO*C. I need to compile this PRO*C code to use it to retrieve DBMS PIPES being sent.
I'm trying to compile it using the following command: gcc -o IAPIPE IAPIPE.c
The code - file IAPIPE.c #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h>
EXEC SQL BEGIN DECLARE SECTION; VARCHAR username[20]; int status; int msg_length; char retval[2000]; EXEC SQL END DECLARE SECTION; [code]....
I am trying to compile a .pc file. I am working with Oracle 11gR1 and windows env. I am able to create .c file from .pc file. I am able to produce .o file from .obj file. But i am not able to link it and produce .exe. My installation does not contain / precomp /demo folder.
