CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE SCOTT.GetEmpList(p_recordset OUT SYS_REFCURSOR) AS BEGIN OPEN p_recordset FOR SELECT * FROM scott.emp WHERE deptno=10; END GetEmpList;
Now i would like to execute this procedure in sqlplus which will display the following:
EMPNO ENAME JOB MGR HIREDATE SAL COMM DEPTNO 7782 CLARK MANAGER 7839 6/9/1981 2450 10 7839 KING PRESIDENT 11/17/1981 5000 10 7934 MILLER CLERK 7782 1/23/1982 1300 10
create or replace procedure bank_search_sp ( p_tablename in varchar2, p_searchname in varchar2, p_bankcode out varchar2, p_bankname out varchar2, p_dist_code out number ) as v_tem varchar2(5000); begin v_tem :='select bankcode,bankname,dist_code from ' || UPPER (p_tablename) || ' where bankname like '''|| p_searchname||''; execute immediate v_tem into p_bankcode,p_bankname,p_dist_code using p_searchname ; commit; end bank_search_sp;
the Procedure is getting created but i dont know what actually happens when it was executed ,This is the error shown..ORA-01756: quoted string not properly terminated
ORA-06512: at "PENSIONS.BANK_SEARCH_SP", line 14 ORA-06512: at line 1
create table test ( f1 varchar2(10), f2 varchar2(10), f3 varchar3(10) ) insert into test values ('d1','d2','d3'); insert into test values ('d10','d20','d30');
I want to update the fields of the table as per need i.e update only one field leaving all the data of the fields as it is. Suppose I want to update only f1 (from d1 to x1) field leaving f2, and f3 as it is. I've written stored procedure to update all the fields but do not know how to do it?
Quote:CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE UPDATE_TEST ( U_F1 TEST.F1%TYPE, U_F2 TEST.F2%TYPE,
Requirement is to build procedure where it has 10-12 input variables but some of them (input variables) may at times be NULL.Based on this, i thought of getting into EXECUTE IMMEDIATE but this would just return rows i mean DML stmt for EXECUTE IMMEDIATE.Also, on the requirment is all parameters are present then result set be based on range on start and end date.
I just started to play with this system and don't understand how to execute the the stored procedure (that creates report) from the APEX page. I know that they have sample documentation and java script call (show below):
<script language=”JavaScript” type=”text/javascript”> function callMyRep() { var formVal1 = document.getElementById(’P_PAR1′).value; var url; url = ‘rep1?p_session_id=&SESSION.’+'&p_par1=’+ formVal1; window.location.href=”f?p=&APP_ID.:12:&SESSION.”; w = open(url,”winRep”,”Scrollbars=1,resizable=1,width=800,height=600″); Close here. X [code]....
In this example rep1 is the stored procedure that creates report.How can I execute it using url?
I would like to create a trigger that will execute a stored procedure when a package/function/procedure is compiled. I tried creating an update trigger on user_objects, but it statues aI cannot create that trigger tyoe on views.
I have need to know the best (least expensive) way to create a stored procedure that creates a new records in a table using a sequence and return the primary key (sequence value) for this inserted record:
CREATE TABLE TEST_A (SERIAL NUMBER PRIMARY KEY, NAME VARCHAR2(20)); CREATE SEQUENCE SEQ_TESTA_PK START WITH 1 NOCACHE NOCYCLE; CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TRG_TESTA_PK BEFORE INSERT ON TEST_A
i have created a package & stored procedure which is working fine when i am passing single value to my package or stored procedure. But what approach i should take if i have to pass multiple values (ArrayList) like (from eg empid like I1001,I1002,I1003,I1004,...) in my input parameter . I am using C# & Oracle
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE PKG_x AS type t_cursor is ref cursor; procedure Proc(cur_x out t_cursor, param_emp in varchar2 DEFAULT NULL); END PACKAGE PKG_x;
I have created a stored procedure that checks if a file exists and gets a date from the file if it exists. The date is then used as a paramter. See below:
CODEcreate or replace PROCEDURE "P_Load_Stamp" AS v_exists BOOLEAN; v_length NUMBER; v_blocksize NUMBER;
[code]...
The above codes works perfectly and I scheduled it using SQLPLUS as follows:
CODEvariable jobno number; variable instno number; begin select instance_number into :instno from v$instance;
[code]...
My problem is that I need to pass the date from the above procedure as a parameter to another stored procedure. So I modified my code as follows (the parts in red):
CODEcreate or replace PROCEDURE "P_Load_Stamp" (vCTIDATE OUT varchar2) AS v_exists BOOLEAN; v_length NUMBER;
[code]...
Now it doesn't strike me as a rights issue since I created it in the schem schema. What could I be doing wrong here?
I am trying to execute the procedure from toad, where the type is like an object.How can I do that?
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE list_t AS TABLE OF list_objtype; CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE list_objtype AS OBJECT ( Emp_ID NUMBER(5), EMp_Name VARCHAR2(32 BYTE) );
In the following procedure I am calling list_t, but how would i pass the values to it?
PROCEDURE modify_settings ( p_List in list_t, p_info out varchar2) DECLARE p_List TABLE;
i have a stored procedure whose input parameter is a varchar2 datatype.i created this procedure for an interface and tibco would be calling my procedure by passing input parameters.my problem is when there is a input string with & (ambersand) then its not working.
even i tried to pass the parameter with & in TOAD, it asks me to enter value for string.look at the sample code below which i wrote for testing purpose:
procedure is:
create or replace procedure testproc(p_in in varchar2) is begin null; end;
i pass parameter as given below:
begin testproc('abc & def'); end;
if i run above script, it asks me to input some string value as it sees & in the string. attached is the image that shows up in TOAD. if i run below script it works. but i dont know how many &'s will be there in the input parameter. hence i cant do. and also TIBCO cant modify the input paramter while calling the procedure.
create type cxn_type is varray(3) of varchar2(2000) /
I created TEST table by below pl/sql block :
declare execstr varchar2(2000) :='create table test('; begin for i in 1..80 loop
[Code]....
*ERROR at line 5: ORA-06550: line 5, column 8: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "MYPROC1" when expecting one of the following: := . ( @ % ;
The symbol ":=" was substituted for "MYPROC1" to continue.
SQL>The above procedure will insert the supplied numbered string into the test table which split the numbered string based upon supplied splitids of sp_table.
I have written a stored procedure that has started returning the error:
Error starting at line 1 in command: call p_glpost('DSTUK', 'L', '2008-01-01', '2008-01-01', '2011-02-18', 1, 1, 1, 0, 'Hi there')
Error report: SQL Error: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error ORA-06512: at "CLARITY.P_GLPOST", line 173 06502. 00000 - "PL/SQL: numeric or value error%s"
I can't seem to find a tool that will let me step into the actual stored procedure line by line to see where the error occurs. It mentions line 173, which seems to be a red-herring, as line 173 is simply one of the 'END IF' lines within this block:
IF NVL(r_dist.transtype,'wild') = 'wild' THEN NULL; elsif r_wip.transtype = r_dist.transtype THEN v_matchCount := v_matchCount+1; elsif r_wip.transtype <> r_dist.transtype THEN [code]......
Tell me if it is possible to trace through a SP, and which tool is best (I am trying to use Oracle SQL Developer).
I want to execute a dynamic query which is stored in a Table.
Output of that query should be stored in database server.
Is there any way i can create a dynamic procedure? I have created a sample code but issue is i cannot make the below data type dynamic as per the query.
en com_fund_info_m%ROWTYPE; CREATE TABLE TEMP (SQLSTATEMENT VARCHAR2(100)) DECLARE TYPE r_cursor IS REF CURSOR; c_emp r_cursor; en com_fund_info_m%ROWTYPE;
Procedure countyname(i_lat IN Number, i_lon IN NUMBER, o_countyname OUT VARCHAR2);
The procedure works fine when the input parameter values are small precision like 30.653, -618.765 etc.it fails if the Input parameter values have more precise like 35.694872140886...I think the IN Number can only take upto certain precission.
Is there any way I can specify the precision for a NUMBER input parameter in a procedure?
ex: Procedure countyname(i_lat IN Number(30,10), i_lon IN NUMBER(30,10), o_countyname OUT VARCHAR2);
when I tried the above statement it doesn't compile it gives PLS-00103 error.
I want Oracle stored function/procedure to calculate number of working days between two dates. We need to exclude Firdays and Saturdays as there are weekend holidays and also exclude official holidasy that lie between two dates.
I'm using an existing stored procedure in my C code. The stored procedure in question has been compiled and is proven to work without any errors. However, when I use the same in my C code, its failing with the above error.
The Store procedure definition looks like :
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION SP( srq_id integer , unid IN SPkg.arr_parmid, parm_typ IN SPkg.arr_parm_typ,
[code].....
Type definitions
TYPE arr_parm_typ IS TABLE OF char INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER; TYPE arr_parmid IS TABLE OF tbl_parm.UNID%TYPE INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER; TYPE arr_parm_lbl IS TABLE OF tbl_parm.PARM_LBL%TYPE INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER; TYPE arr_parm_vlu IS TABLE OF tbl_parm.PARM_VLU%TYPE INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER; TYPE arr_vlu_hint IS TABLE OF tbl_parm.VLU_HINT%TYPE INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
i need to pass table as input parameter in stored procedures. during the run time, i am getting error
CREATE OR replace TYPE emp_type IS OBJECT ( id NUMBER(4), ename VARCHAR2(10)); CREATE OR replace TYPE emp_type_tab IS TABLE OF EMP_TYPE; CREATE OR replace PROCEDURE Test_proc (in_emp_type IN EMP_TYPE_TAB) AS BEGIN FOR i IN 1.. in_emp_type.COUNT LOOP dbms_output.Put_line(in_emp_type.Id(i)); END LOOP; END; /
I'm trying to create a stored procedure that has two temporary tables within it, and then queries both them tables and inserts the results into a table. I created the script but when they try to run in on the server it wont run.
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE UpdateFIDB_SP IS BEGIN CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE myAAAA AS (SELECT AAAA.1111, AAAA.2222, BBBB.3333_EXT, CCCC.4444, DDDD.5555, DDDD.6666, DDDD.7777, DDDD.8888, AAAA.9999, EEEE.1010, EEEE.1A1A, EEEE.1B1B, FFFF.3333_LO, FFFF.1C1C, [code]........
