if there is a way to create a custom log files or if there is way to utilize the built in log function of Oracle. Here is the code with what I am trying to do:
IF (_CONDITION IS NOT NULL) THEN
IF (V_CONDITION <> 'NS' OR V_CONDITION <> 'NE' OR V_CONDITION <> 'AR' OR V_CONDITION <> 'OH' OR V_CONDITION <> 'SV') THEN
[Code]....
Ok, so where you see V_CONDITION := 'XX'; I would like to have the value of V_CONDITION be input into a log file as apposed to changing the value to XX. So I would have something like:
RAISE BAD_CONDITION_CODE;
The problem is that I am not sure how to create the actual log file that the value of V_CONDITION will be stored in.
I want to test custom Jar files with Forms 6i from my desktop, but I cannot get the Run Form->Web to work. Is it possible for the run time to load the just jars for PJC when you do Run Form -> Client/Server? So far, when I have done this, it does not execute any PJC.
I would like to increase the size of my redo logs. For this I need to drop & recreate them. I have read the Oracle doc [URL] which covers this however :
I have both "normal" and "standby" redo logs (see below) on my primary database - can I drop the standby redo logs? Do these have a link to the redo logs on the standby database?
SQL> SELECt * from v$logfile order by 1;

I have two tables, one with the customer address and another one with a note. May I know how to create a separate PDF file (for each customer) that should start with the customer name/address (from customer table) and followed by a note (from the note table)
I have written make files that compile .pc files in unix. This was for several projects that use an oralib source code directory.Just running proc on one target .pc file works fine on unix. I am trying to use proc - Oracle 10.2.0 - in windows and I keep getting:
Quote:unable to open include file #include <stdio.h> and other C library headers.
I am doing all development under cygwin, this way I can write a makefile just like under unix instead of using nmake.All C library headers are in /usr/include When I run proc on Solaris as that:
proc program.pc No problems, and I do get program.c.
However in windows I get the previous error message. I have tried to do proc include=/user/include program.pc and proc include=/user/include parse=full program.pc but I still get the same error message.
I created a custom type what it has a clob member variable:
CREATE TYPE custom_type AS OBJECT( c_type INTEGER, c_number NUMBER(38, 8), c_varchar2 VARCHAR2(4000 CHAR), c_clob CLOB, [code]........
The inserting and updating works with constructor: ... custom_type (to_clob('foo')) . But if the data is longest than 4000 characters then the PHP isn't access to it.
So: The normal case: $sql = ("INSERT INTO table ( clob_field ) VALUES ( EMPTY_CLOB() ) RETURNING clob_field INTO :clob"); $stid = oci_parse($conn, $sql); $clobdescr = oci_new_descriptor($conn, OCI_DTYPE_LOB); oci_bind_by_name($stid, ':clob', $clobdescr, -1, OCI_B_CLOB); oci_execute($stid); $clobdescr->save('more than 4000 chars'); ...
This case: I tried: $sql = ("INSERT INTO table ( ctype ) VALUES ( custom_type(EMPTY_CLOB()) ) RETURNING ctype.c_clob INTO :clob"); $stid = oci_parse($conn, $sql); $clobdescr = oci_new_descriptor($conn, OCI_DTYPE_LOB); oci_bind_by_name($stid, ':clob', $clobdescr, -1, OCI_B_CLOB); oci_execute($stid); $clobdescr->save('more than 4000 chars');
ORA says: "ORA-00904: CTYPE.C_CLOB: invalid identifier";
I have developed few reports for ebusiness suite in various sizes as 8.5 * 8.5, 8.5*11 and 8.5 * 12.My OS is Linux Red Hat 8.5 and the printer is Epson LQ 300. All the reports are TEXT and I am facing a printing problem to print in various sizes as we need to print all these reports by using a single printer.I created different print queues with the default paper sizes as above mentioned to print the reports, but the printer never considers any specified paper size and always printing for the default A4 size of 8.5 * 11.
I have a requirement to get decrypted value of national_identifier from database and display in Social Security number, when user queries for employee in employee form of HRMS. Also, National_identifier should be in encrypted format in database table always.
To meet above requirement, I am using custom.pll. In WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE I am getting decrypted value of national_identifer from database and assigning it to :person.national_identifier(database block) by using COPY function, so far it is working as expected.
When user query for employee, he/she able to decrypted value. but if user closes the form it is asking 'Do you want to save changes you made' as there is a change in :person.national_identifier.
Do we have any property to reset record/block status to something like unchanged, so we will not get 'Do you want to save changes you made message'.
I know that this query had been executed again the db, but the person is no longer here. Last run was about 3~4 months ago.
SELECT Subject_ID, TO_CHAR (completed_date, 'mm/dd/yyyy'), status FROM ADMINDBG_USER.adbt_master ...
[ADMINDBG_USER.adbt_master] is not a part of [dba_tables]. [ADMINDBG_USER.adbt_master] must be a view/procedure/a sort. I have no luck to find what view/procedure/syntax is populating the data onto [ADMINDBG_USER.adbt_master].
i have created one custom block in that i am taking one value in text_item and on 2nd form i have data block on that block i want filter by using WHERE clause
in that where clause i want to compare value which is taken in custom block by user..what need to write in where clause?
creating custom AWE Line Level Approval? I’m having trouble trying to get the method for line approval to fire. I have header level working so I decided to dig deeper. I added the line keys to the Xref table, Updated the Registry, Configured the Events, and created a new Process Definition using line level (very simple “Always True”). I have seen OnProcessLaunch fire so my routing has begun.
The graphics look good. But when my approver goes in and hits the Approve button, it saves and nothing happens to the approval. Tracing it shows that no methods are firing. How does the system know to fire the line level method vs the header level method?
use BI publisher to create custom report layouts, which are uploaded via APEX in the Shared components reports area.
The users wish to be able to select which report layout they want to use on the fly, e.g. select from drop down list which I'd hope to dynamically populate without having to hard code the report layout names into it.
From what I can find, it’s been stated that the layout names etc are stored in wwv_flow_files. However when I look here, I see all “history” of the files, even report layouts that were created and then subsequently deleted.
how, I can retrieve the details on exactly what report layouts are “active”?
i am developing a application using oracle forms 10g. i can't use the standard template.fmb because my application does not run in ebs. there comes the problem: i want to implement the lov button function like the template does, such as :
1. when the text item get focus, lov button display.
2. when the text item lost focus, lov button disappear.
3. when scrollbar scrolls, the position of lov button adjust accordingly.
4. there is only one lov button in one form and the lov button was created dynamically.
I have a table with two columns called startsem and gradsem they are both CHAR(3). Within those colums are rows that are listed as SemesterYear. For example, F09 is Fall 2009, S09 Spring 2009, and M09 is Summer 2009. I would like to create a constraint that says GradSem must be greater than StartSem b/c no one can travel back in time to graduate. However, as you know you can compare S09 > F09 because it will treat it as a string. I thought I could use a substring and compare the last two digits as a year and that would work but how do I compare the semesters as a time frame? Because in my schema F > S because Spring 2011 comes before Fall 2011 but in reality F < S because to Oracle it is a string and the ASCII value of F is less than S. I cannot chage the coding of the database so editing the rows so they are more date friendly is not an option.
So how can I modify this database to acruately compare StartSem and GradSem.
I would like to know if it's possible to use PIPELINED return inside a custom library with Oracle Forms Builder? For now, i try to use it, but i get error about client side.
my code.
PACKAGE TEST IS TYPE measure_record IS RECORD( l4_id VARCHAR2(50), l6_id VARCHAR2(50), [code].......
the body compile, but not the other part. I would like after call the select * from test.get_ups(0); with a cursor into another function.
I have created a custom download procedure to download uploaded files from custom table records which are displayed via links and i call my procedure as #OWNER#.my_file?p_file=#ID#. Now the problem this procedure call works in my development system not any other system.
is there any grant i need to provide but i don't want to grant to public also apex 4.1.1 create or replace PROCEDURE

I have data block that has hundreds of records. On a screen I display 20 records at a time. On that same screen I have "find badge" function where user types badge/employee id and presses a button to find the record in a data block. I have no problem finding the records in a list and pointing the curser to appropriate record. My question is (which is a user request) if the badge/employee id is found to make that record to be the first record in a list.
